Looking forward to this big time. So I might have made the right choice getting me a DX11 GPU then :thumbup:

 

Keep cracking on with all the good stuff you lot do (ED). The work you produce keeps me off the streets and out of the pub and for that I (and my Missis) thank you!

 

I never got to fly the beta so I haven't "done" the whole Nevada thing yet but I put some cash to one side ready for your release!

I really don't understand ED sometimes and i hope i'm wrong : why making this map PAYWARE when the possibility of immersion in real combat really goes down when you're over las vegas instead of Irak/Afghanistan when there is a LOT of 3D planes models who seem to come from 1980's. At least , id prefer to see a new map with a 3D models improvement ... Please , why does the SAM systems and tanks got a better 3D model than quite a lot of planes ?

 

There's a lot more prioritary things to do IMHO

 

But at this stage , to be constructive , i think that to make people pay you should make those 3D models

Its not a price and money question , more a moral one . I can largely afford to pay , but i don't like to pay when the thing inside is not that good. but we'll see. i really pray though for the 3D models update ..

As opposed to what? Freeware? How is that conducive to Good Business practice? Bills need to be paid and salaries provided at the end of the month - not going to get that by giving it away.

 

As regards to your preference for a particular product, well that's a completely different matter. Don't like it then don't buy it - Just do not expect it for free ;)

Oh I want it, but I already did buy it, when I preordered and factored the existence of a Nevada map into my rationalization for spending 60 bucks on a game. I don't care if it was a beta, I preordered the game based on a list of promised features. If this was not part of the original feature list when I bought it, I would have no problem with ED making it payware. As it is, I think the idea is atrocious.

 

Making people pay for this map would be bad business practice and the first "low blow" ED has dealt its community, IMO.

It's just a desert type terrain...jeez. I don't see why it would be so hard to imagine it was iraq/afghanistan etc...

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I believe it's basically a case of pre-ordering = nevada. Sort of like a thankyou for taking part in the open beta. I'd have to get confirmation on that to know for sure though.

From the sounds of this post it's anyone that pre-ordered the game. That post was from late January as well.

 

To clarify: the Nevada map will NOT be in the release version of A-10C but we do plan to release it later as a pay-for add-on map. This map will be free to those did the A-10C pre-purchase though. For those that wait for the final, release version, the Nevada map will be a separate purchase.

Another thing wich ( without any agression

) is quite annoying is that when anyone say other things than " ED is fabulous " they got answer Like that . I'm not six years old , and i'm speaking about a moral and a reflexion point of view . Not a : if you're not happy ... Etc.

 

I'm just saying that this map quite finished in the beta have been recuperated by ED to have the "DCS" label and attract people buying it . It would just be better to have something else ( Like those 3D models wich are for me a incomprehensive thing )

 

BUT if i have to be a bit abused by a monopol company when i buy something i prefer this company to be ED because this is business but they have without any doubt made a magnificient sim .

 

I'm just not a sheep saying " fabulous " At evrything ED pops out . Even

If i must admit that they made fabulous thing , but not all .

 

But this is my opinion and you have totally the right to got yours as a part of the ED team ..

It's true what they say:

 

You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time.

 

Same applies this case - rest assured that this particular business proposition is sound insofar as the A-10C and Nevada Map is concerned :)

I must admit that this was a bit provocative :) but its a fact that people from the ED team should just be less " you're wrong ". I'm just saying, wags, that i hope this map wouldn't be just another map with sand . Its Nice to get fully detailled 2cm rocks but its not the aim of this sim isn't it ?

 

The thing about the 3D model is frustrating you have to admit : they are not at the same level as the whole sim : very high

 

You know the reason why i care and worry about this : because i love this sim . And if you know i'm wrong , tell me why , i'll be the first being happy to go to bed smarter than before.

 

BTW the next one , DCS : what ? ( kidding ;) )

The reason you are wrong is that you do not know what happened.

 

The nevada map you saw in the beta was far, far from ready. There were placeholder textures in there - did you miss them?

 

The fact that is has been taking this long to develop nevada in parallel with the A-10C patch and the work on the Ka-50 should also give you a hint.

 

Nonwithstanding, it has been said time and again that the nevada upgrade isn't just a map: It will come with a new terrain engine for one thing.

 

This work isn't done for free: The developers get paid, and I have no problem with ED wanting to get paid for time and effort.

More often than not we know for a fact that certain statements are wrong but are not in a position to tell you why due to NDA's etc etc.

 

The best we ask is to trust us when a certain statement is made: You might not agree with the particular point-of-view at that stage - you can however be 100% certain that we will never mislead you. We will either remain silent or relate what we can. It is then up to you to 'fill in the blanks' so to speak.......and trust me when I say that those blanks are more often than not pretty damned spectacular - a wee bit of patience is all :)

This is a true answer . This is what a forum is made for , and i have absolutly no problem in giving money for hard work , but : i don't really feel lts différent to pay 60€ before or after the release . But anyways , it wouldn't be fun if evrybody was in the same mind :) and i'm confident that ED Will do the best .

I did not pre-order (discovered DCS too late for that) yet I will happily pay for the Nevada update. Not only am I glad to support a quality developer, I look forward to the possibilities afforded by the Nevada terrain - specifically, Red Flag, Green Flag West, Gunsmoke, et al. Not to mention the sunsets!
