DCS World 2.0 and New Maps Discussion Thread

Is there any way to check when the purchase was made? I purchased the A10C ages ago, not sure if it was in beta though or not.

Yes, if you go to your ED account/personal section/my orders, it has all the dates of your purchases. Not 100% sure if it says beta for A-10C as I missed out on that one, but all the purchases I made that were in beta at the time are named as such on that page.

Ok thanks for that.

In my case it states DCS-A10C (download Version) Completed 16.02.2011

Would that qualify me for a copy of the Nevada test range or will I need to purchase the map?

That is also what mine says, but I know I purchased it during the beta. I don't remember what the cutoff date for that was.

it will be free to those that Purchased DCS:A-10C in Spring 2011;

Everyone else will have to purchase a license, Pricing has not been announced.

Unlucky me. I purchased mine in December 2010. ;)

07.10.2010 oh the days...

Now add a year of waiting patiently :music_whistling:

Back then we had Nevada, it was taken down with a patch and here we are :D

It will be really nice once we have more maps

Questions about DCS World 2

I have DCS World and the following modules: DCS Huey, FC3 and DCS A-10C Warthog.

1. Will I need to pay for DCS world 2?

2. In the updates/announcements section, I read that the NTTR map will only be free for those who had bought A-10 when it was in beta. I bought it afterwards so will I have to pay for it?

3. What are the recommended and minimum requirements for the E.D.G.E.?

4. The new SU-27, wasn't this already a part of FC3? (I haven't touched FC3 yet. I'm still trying to learn the Huey). Are there any new improvements? Does the Su-27 have mid-air refueling capability?

CPU: Core i7 7700k, Mobo: GA-Z270x Gaming 7 rev. 1, RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz, GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Amp Edition, SSD: Samsung 850 pro 512 GB, SSD: 2 x Samsung 850 EVO 512 GB (RAID 0), Intel 530 Series 240GB SSD, HDD: WD 2TB Caviar Black, TrackIR 5, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, CH PRO Pedals.

1. No.

2. Yes.

3. As yet unknown.

4. Yes, it is part of FC3 but can now be purchased separately.

The PFM would be considered a new improvement.

IDK.

Yes.

3. What are the recommended and minimum requirements for the E.D.G.E.?

TBA. EDGE is planned to be less demanding and also more reliant on the GPU than the the current engine.

The Su-27 is part of FC3. The FC3 version and the stand alone version are the same, if you own FC3, do not buy the stand alone. All versions are being updated to PFM and are also getting minor avionics changes.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

No it has not (in DCS World). Su-33 has.

What is PFM?

As stated by Wags here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2039947

Professional Flight Model (PFM). This is generations beyond an AFM/AFM+ and is based upon:

• Use a wider array of wind tunnel tests CFD methods for aerodynamics parameters calculations.

• A higher level of aircraft construction details for forces calculations. For example: our landing gear model includes individual kinematics of retracting/extending is used to calculate its movement, servo-piston forces, etc. In such cases, we truly use real lengths, arms, etc. This also includes such items as a realistic simulation of airflow along the airframe due to the propeller or helicopter rotor thrust.

• Realistic simulation of Flight Control, CAS and Autopilot systems.

• Realistic simulation of Hydraulics, Fuel, Electrical, Engine and other systems influence flight characteristics.

• Unprecedented access to test data packs.

This is combined with much more detailed and accurate accounting of the physical forces on the aircraft and airfoils. DCS examples of the PFM include the A-10C, Ka-50, P-51D, UH-1H, Mi-8MTV2, F-15C and Su-27 (in development) for DCS Flaming Cliffs, and the Fw190-D9 (in development).<br />
