cichlidfan Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Today my wh bricked..tried official firmware reset procedure, on different usb ports no joy...anybody knows some procedure to fix this...after firmware update i get error on last step - checking firmware update...please help The procedure is to contact TM and arrange for a replacement. I am not aware of anyone fixing this themselves. Eddie Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 As above, contact TM support via their website and arrange for an RMA. They give you the details to send the throttle, stick or both to them (or a local repair agent depending on your location). They fix it and then send it back to you. Mine was returned in just over a week from TM in France.
hreich Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Chek TM oficciL support page, there is procedure to reset firmware to "bulk" usb device...but i did this already 5 times, and each time i used different usb ports...now i dont have any new and unused usb ports to make same procedure again [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia

Pyroflash Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 No, that is like saying a certain motherboard is overpriced just because a few people had DoA cases. If a product is good, it warrants the high cost. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Wolfie Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Lol, sure, but TM always seems to have problems where other joysticks don't. My $9, 20 year old Raptor Firestick still works great. Never had a problem with it. For $500, you would think you would get the same out of the Warthog. In fact, as far as I can remember, I've never had any problems at all with my two CH joysticks either. TM seems to be the problem here. I think I will be waiting till they come down to a reasonable price. 159th_Viper Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 ....but TM always seems to have problems where other joysticks don't..... There's the problem - nothing compares to the Warthog: It's yards ahead of everything out there. Then again, unless you've personally tried it you will not appreciate this fact and as a consequence any argument you may have regarding the veracity of the product is without foundation. 1 Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? cichlidfan Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Your $9 joystick also had less to break in the first place. The number of potential points of failure in the Warthog is rather high by comparison. That alone increases the chance of a failure of some type. Viper is also correct. You cannot judge the value until you actually lay hands on one. I was a bit skeptical until I actually used it. The difference between it and a $100-$150 stick is leaps and bounds. Like anything, your not going to get people coming to a forum starting threads about how much they like a product and how trouble-free it is. Its always the people with issue or complaint, so its not a representative section of the population unfortunately. btw, My TMW were the best $450 I've spent on my simulator setup. to the OP, good luck, hope you get it sorted asap!
Lucky Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I too love my TM Warthog. This is my second. I sold the first one, but after a few months missed it and had to buy another. That CH doesn't have failures is pure propaganda. Ever been to the CH hangar before? Have a look here... http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?14-Hardware-Help lots of problems listed there huh? Your as accurate as FOX news with your incessant critisisms of Thrustmaster. At least, I've never heard of one. TM I hear about a LOT, and there are far less of them around then CH. Hence, I am wary of buying anything from TM, especially at their ridiculous prices. I pulled out my 25 year old CH Flightstick the other day. I think I paid about $20 for it, back in the day. Dusted off all the dirt and mud dobber nests on it, and guess what? It worked! Wolfie Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 True. And I would love to have a Warthog, but from what I have heard about both the Cougar and the Warthog now, over the ages, I am very wary of buying one. Especially at the price they want. It seems extreme. $150 is probably the max I would spend on a Hotas.
