So maybe the effects have to be attached in Max now?

 

Edit; thought they were part of the EDM Tool, lol, So they are attached to the Model Viewer....

Probably need to specify helper points in the max model and the game reads those. Just a guess

Guess that would lead to a question of where is the document describing these helpers :)

Maybe I can find something. No promises. One easy way at some point when a model that utilizes the new stuff is released is to open up a model and look at the helpers in the file

just showed/told HungaroJET to me how to use

i guess he knows a lot about MW :)

 

so, im not sure but if you load a model with lots of connectors with that will usefull for effects - my first guess

but i need to check other models too

let me see a fulcrum :D

Ditto, Like to look at this too, as I've placed a mess ton of connectors that arent even used with the same names.

it is fantastic but tricky

 

new calculated touchdown smokes work too but only for 3 seconds if you move the model (not the camera!) in MV - visible smoke at front wheel as well (3 smoke positions) :thumbup:

 

and what is the best: the exhaust trail/smoke is flowing backward - so it will works with aircrafts stopped on runways/taxiways too :thumbsup:

 

with turned on fire & smoke and with sudden moves of the model fire will sprinkle away - just like sparkles @ tailstrike - i just hope it will work for tailstrike, arrester hook strike/touchdown and for emergency belly landing too

There's a new menu called Effects, Skate. Just toggle them on-off.

Seems like only a few EDMs work (F-15).

 

A-10 doesnt, My EDMs dont.... hmmm...

 

Edit, I can get Wingtips to work, but not Exhaust. (On My EDMs)

gotta be a new setting in the exporter some where.

 

or a specific pointer setting,

 

Cuz the F-15 EDM from DCS:A-10C 1.1.1.1 Works too..

Click the "rotate model" button (magnifying glass) then enable the wingtip condensation.

 

what ? sorry, but i dont understand this: magnifying glass

 

and do you mean left mouse button as "rotate model" button ?

 

honestly, i can turn on wingtip smoke but this is not flowing backward like on your screenshot

i can get only static white rings wich will dissapear after a short period

these white rings only visible when i moving the model with shift key + any mouse button

 

i guess you use different MV version: i use 76601 (modelviewer.exe file version 1.2.6.16601) - maybe it got different fx, fxo and lua files

which one do you use ?

strange

opposite on my rig

no wingtip condensations

but others work

I can get them to work, but Like i said, the F-100 has a mess of connectors already,

 

Im Guessing Wingtip Vapor uses FLOW_001 FLOW_002?

 

 

Now Exhaust on the other hand, is kicking me,

 

I've Tried AFTERBURN_001, AFTERBURN, Along with INVERS_001 and INVERS.

 

 

Seems I Still missing something, because as soon as I turn the exhaust on I get an APP Crash on my Mesh.

 

opening the .fx file doesnt reveal anything off first glance either.

How do you get it to look like the Aircraft is Moving?

Also, I can confirm Wingtip Vapor uses FLOW_001, FLOW_002 as I moved them in max and the vapor moved with them.

Moving/Adjusting those Connectors allows tweaking of the Position and stuff.
