Nate--IRL-- Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Could we have another option A proper modular Game engine that does NOT require 3 seperate installs How much would you say this is worth? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Rikus Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I would pay: - 100 euros for DCS: MIG or Sukhoi - 50 euros for DCS: F18 - F16 F15 - F14 Greetings

jp203000 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 we all fell into trap , the more people vote for DCS fighter, the later ED will tell you what it is .
Nate--IRL-- Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Arm, Leg, Nuts? Heheh. I never realised that something like that was so sought after. That said I have about 8 different installs of various versions of DCS/Lockon myself, it'd be nice to tidy some of them up. ZQuickSilverZ Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) I think expecting a fully clickable cockpit for FC3 is a bit much..... Thats what DCS is supposed to be for. Can I vote for DCS Railway Simulator (just kidding)? I have bought DCS: A-10C (during the spring sale). I will probably NOT buy the DCS: Fast Mover. I will probably NOT buy DCS: P51 (I bought DCS because it was MODERN I have IL2 for my WW2 needs)). I will buy FC3 only because of the Su25T. If they ever make a DCS version of that I am done with FC unless the aircraft stable changes. Note..... I think It would be interesting to have some sort of FC3 Helo. We need a Helo that fits FC3 requirements. You know DCS: Blackshark started off as a FC mod...... maybe they should consider taking it back to its roots. I mean we have FC: A-10A and DCS: A-10C why not FC3: Blackshark? Edited April 5, 2012 by ZQuickSilverZ I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original. Hellfire257 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 It's just so you know you're getting your money's worth of data, Shadowze.
Randolf Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I wouldn't think twice before buying DCS: F18. I would also probably buy DCS: F16, but I would think twice.
Nate--IRL-- Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 ......if the design had been better thought out and designed to be modular (common sense) It isn't always that simple though, while it might be simple in principle, in practice it may be very different, but yeah it would be cool to have. Anyway kinda derailing Tomcatz thread here. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
MemphisBelle Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 [...]kinda derailing Tomcatz thread here. That´s exactly what my thought is since shadowze first post here! :book: BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
Agg Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I'll buy the Mustang and the fixed wing fighter, pretty sure that I would'nt by an A-10A module, and Ill have to wait and see what's new in FC3 before making up my mind about it. If it's just FC2 with bloom and a couple of new models then Ill pass.
Daze Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I would definitely buy an A-10A module [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] First to Fight, First to Strike.

ogata321 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Gonna buy the 'Stang for sure, the modern fighter not too sure, but 1st and foremost I'd pay GOOD f*ng money for a... DCS Hind!!! +1 +1 +1
GGTharos Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 To ED , I think it is worth a fortune , a real proper game engine that does not have to be re-written/hacked at for every "new" aircraft they release .... priceless That would mean that the engine would be left to stagnate. The engine will be updated regardless of anything else, at least from what I have observed. It would also make having 3 or more installs with loads of common files not having to be duplicated un-necessarily Sure, ED agrees with that, and there was a post by EB1 somewhere (I looked for it, but couldn't find it) explaining that ED acknowledges that this isn't a feasible way of doing things in the future, and that they will be looking into it. jp203000 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I will buy all of them to support the development of the DCS fighter :) If ED finally fail to provide you with DCS fighter, you have the right to ask for a refund.
Moa Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 +1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 And i would pay 101€ for DCS Typhoon:D Detailed information for the Typhoon is very tough to come by. That makes it very hard to build a sim for. Unless you know of somewhere that has the flight manual (even for a fee)?

sobek Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 If by ' for a fee' you mean a lifetime rotting in jail... :D Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

GGTharos Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 ED doesn't have to update the engine with each aircraft they put in. They just happen to do so anyway, so work would be just as heavy anyway. If you add more factors to the atmosphere, you have to adjust all the FM's too (assuming you want to take advantage of it). Same deal if you change how some weapons work, or give the AI a choice of rounds, etc. What Iam saying is that the IF the game had of been designed to be properly modular then it would be less work when each new aircraft is released. kinda like the way arma works , the engine can have new mods loaded into it, so they dont have to re-write the engine everytime a new thing is added.
