Maybe DirectX 11, and Multi CPU - GPU support! :)

My vote 50 times over. Use the computer for what it can do. Ive been using audio and video recording programs for years that take advantage of multi cpu. Makes a huge difference.

So true, the fact that DCS runs on a single core in 2012 is... just sad. Anyway, DCS World does not seem to be an improvement performance-wise over the previous sims. Nevada is supposed to have this EDGE thing, but if it's only in Nevada (which is pay to play) that will suck.

to be fair, it uses 2 cores now.

And one of them is only handling the sound effects IIRC, so it's not really worth mentioning in this context.

Why does DCS mean Digital Combat Series in DCS World?

Is that a mistake?

I'm really looking forward to DCS World and I see a very big potencial ;)

What about the SU-25? Can we expect a realIstic version like DCS A-10C? Hope that all further planes in DCS World will be as realistic as the A-10C

This is awesome! DCS is really coming along! From a mess of modules into an integrated solution with high quality 3rd party aircraft. Maybe not exactly a dream for those who are waiting for the official DCS: Fighter but much to have fun for not so picky ones for the time being. :)

I wasn't too fond of the Mustang but with the hype and awesome screenshots I might actually fall for it. :P

One thing I demand though is to iron out bugs in the modules before making new ones!

So, if I get this right (im still downloading right now). DCS World is for free but in order to use all the planes in there you have this small icons in the lower section of the main menu to purchase whatever you wanna fly? Is it automatically recognizing my already installed planes?

Not yet. DCS World and the P-51 are compatible and there is the Su-25T, free with World, imported from Flaming Cliffs 2. The next patch/version of DCS A-10 and DCS Black Shark 2 will be made for inclusion into DCS World but the current versions are not.

The idea to install all modules into dcs world is brilliant, but one thing makes me headache. I´m use a logitech G940 stick with own profiles for BS2, A-10C, P-51 and the SU-25T for to use the stick with multiple functions. But dcs world has just one dcs exe, so that means i can just to trick that by copy this exe to the mod folder for to get the opportunity to create a profile for that mod. But for to use it, i have to force the profile first on the logitech profiler, before i start the game. So it would be very nice, when every mod are getting his own exe file, which be selected automatically by to start the flight. Otherwise you just have the opportunity to select the buttons ingame and lose a lot of functions of your stick like shift or mode selection.

But maybe i´m totally wrong and there is an other way to use own profiles for every single modules. :music_whistling:

^^ hmm..thats a shame...I cant comment on the g940 as I dont have one but....can you not alt-tab out and change the profile within whatever Logitech use to profile the stick?

I know, at least with the x52, you can hold down the Clutch button (button 36) to then use the POV hat to navigate through available profiles (small gui drawn in the LCD ) and change them dynamically..
