DCS World and FC3

Think its dumb you have to have the original lock on in order to play FC3.FC3 should just be one install and just have everything work from there IMHO.

 

It's all legal stuff put in place to make sure all the litte Ubiwon's don't go hungry.;)

There have been a lot of questions regarding how and if FC3 will fit with DCS World. Our current intent/plan is that once you have purchased FC3 and have Lock On already installed, FC3 will be integrated directly into DCS World. As such, you have a separate FC3 icon on your DCSW main GUI page.

imo this means the planes in fc3 will be direct ports perhaps with the updated models and more features, but clickable cockpit, no.

So we just delete de content of Lomac 1.12 installation folder after FC3 is installed into DCS World... no biggie.

 

We can backup first the content of that folder so if we want to unistall later the uninstaller does not stall cause the files were removed.

 

Thus only the registry entries will remain in the system so UBI will be happy we bought (eons ago) "their software"... yada yada rada dada

 

And No FC1 or FC2 will be needed as all the content and more is de facto in DCS World FC3.

Alternatively, you could buy Lock On Platinum instead as it contains both LOMAC and FC/FC2.

If it works the same as Flaming Cliffs 2, there's no need to back up. Lock On on needs to be installed for activation of flamin cliffs. Once installed and ACTIVATED (remember to fly it at least once) you can completely uninstall the original Lick On

Correct. Though it is Lock On (and not FC2) that will matter for the authentication on install.

Not to worry: I still have the first LockOn disk from the day before they released it, the original LockOn Gold disk, the LockOn FC download AND the original LockOn disk from LockOn Platinum. If you dont have the disk by now, then something is WRONG WITH YOU.

I think it´s a good moment to separate the two different products.

That is the key point so many seem to be missing... once the Flaming Cliff planes are in DCS World we can have a full scale airwar with no AI in the air... it will be excellent.

 

Sure the FC3 planes wont be the same as the true DCS ones... but to be honest if they were my head would explode trying to learn & remember all the systems and HOTAS setups. :music_whistling:

Yes, we all know the FC users will be at a distinct disadvantage since they don't have even half of the functions of the real jets, but that's a handicap they will just have to live with.

 

You see, "survey" simulators don't only make things "simpler". They make things "simpler" through, to a great extent, not including a lot of the really awesome and cool stuff that modern jets can do. (That's basically what comes with being a survey sim - you can't go into the really advanced detail if you're doing several aircraft at that price point. Worth it, IMO.)

 

A player flying a DCS F-15C would absolutely destroy, murder, pillage and defenestrate a similarly skilled player that is flying an FC F-15C.

True, you just have to compare FC2 A10A with DCS A10C, it takes a lot more time to master the later, but when you do it it simplified version becomes a completely outclassed.

Why are you so bothered about it? Are you intimidated by the A-10C/Kamov/Mustang pilots?

 

I am assuming no, you are not.

 

That being the case, you will still be piloting your FC3 ride of choice. Difference is that you will be piloting it in an environment that caters for ALL members of the Community rather than specific sectors thereof, ie DCS World.

FC3 will, as far as I know (that is, I'm making an educated guess based on what I do know), use the same system as DCS. Just like FC2 did.

LockOn has no Starforce protection.

 

As a consequence, all you would need is LockOn and DCS World installed (both without Starforce) for the FC3 module to be installed.

Since the Su-25T is free in DCS World, is there any chance that FC3 will bring a clickable 3d cockpit for the Toad? It's something many fans of the plane have been waiting for a king time.
