Spasticatedtoad Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) As much as I would like to see any of the above aircraft ( in the Poll )in DCS today, I have also dreamed of having The Boeing CH-47 Chinook. Sling loading, Door Gunners, Paratroopers, supply drops, troop transporting, muti-player compatible....... It might be only me, but all that appeals to me. :) Not to mention, if it was possible , it would really demonstrate DCS WORLD capabilities to the world. But , of course , it would highly depend on how the program handles the multi-rotor set up it has. Edited August 29, 2014 by Spasticatedtoad
Demon Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Is it possible to have both a gunner and pilot in a helicopter? To be honest I would be thrilled with any modern attack helicopter (AH-1Z, AH-64D, etc) as long as two players could be in it at once.

Right now it isn't, but the September newletter hinted at it being available in the near future.
TaccoZ__Amigo1__ Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 DCS: Mil Mi-26 Halo Imagine a DCS where you can fly the biggest and in my opinion best looking) serial production helicopter in the World. You could pick up your wrecked F-15 or Flanker and tow it back to base, so you can repair it. CSAR and wreck recovery with the Mi-26, Hueys and the A-10 or moving Tunguskas and Tors for the CA guys would give DCS a whole new dimension. Also, it should be pretty easy to get information for making it because there is a civilian version and the fact that we already have a nice exterior model makes it even better. Also it has no complicated weapon systems and so on. Sooo Who would also want the Halo?:pilotfly: Regards Tacco Death is just nature's way of telling you to watch your airspeed. :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
razgriz33 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I would be interested in this. Isn't it the current world record holder for largest helicopter? The scenarios you talk about regarding salvage/supply I would believe possible and probably very fun! Bet it handles like a pig though!
Mike Busutil Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 That's not a big helicopter, THIS is a big helicopter :D Russian Mil V 12 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/
Flanker52 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 1. Mi-24 Hind (A Must!) 2. Oh-6/MD 500 "Little Bird" 3. Ch-47 Chinook 4. UH-60 Blackhawk
FoxHoundELite Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 i want Ka-52,remember some post in ED forum that said ED is doing a Ka-52 and Su-35 simulator for VVS but it's just a military only-sim,not a commercial product..so sad... Feel the Rush of Superior Air Power [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Vampyre Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 why would anyone pick hind over havoc? Because the Hind has been used in conflicts all over the world and is an iconic aircraft. I'd like to see the Mi-24A, Mi-24V and Mi-24P before any iteration of the Mi-28... but that's just me. Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"
Flanker52 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) I'd take the Hind in a heartbeat. Info isn't classified and it's a pretty damn unique helicopter. It can go full on attack or it can be used as troop transport. Plus it's fast as hell and looks like a beast. We already have a modern helicopter in the Ka-50. We don't have an older Russian attack helicopter. Havoc would be cool too but Mi-24 is a classic that needs to be created. Edited September 12, 2014 by Flanker52
Corrigan Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I'd love a modern Western heli. Maybe this sexy beast? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
shagrat Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Wait for it... Wait for it... Apache AH-64 !!! ...but that's already on the VEAO Team's list, so maybe in a few years! And it is the British Westland, with proper RR engines and HIDAS. Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
iFoxRomeo Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I'd love a modern Western heli. Maybe this sexy beast? IMG of EC725 Yes please, the Caracal or the Cougar. Would be my favourite too. Fantastic multirole helicopters. Lots of power and highly manoeuvrable, not like the "sitting duck" Mi8 or the "don´t overdo it" Huey(but I love ´em both). Having a Mi24 and/or Cobra would be nice, but its basically a Mi8/Huey with more weapons. The Cougar/Caracal is a different Helicopter... and did I mention it is highly manoeuvrable? E.g. no bank angle limitation at normal conditions. Weapon employment, transportation, CSAR.... Spoiler PC Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080ti, 64GB RAM, Oculus Quest 3
Visceral Raptor Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) I would suggest the AH-6J Little Bird, it has gatling guns!!!!! Edited September 14, 2014 by Visceral Raptor
Flanker52 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I would suggest the AH-6J Little Bird, it has gatling guns!!!!! So want this helicopter. It's agile as hell and relatively simple - especially the Vietnam versions like the OH-6. It would be a blast to fly. Especially as as spotter for Hueys and Cobra gunships.
IAmRoxHD Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 For me Apache is not needed. For me there are lot of better helicopters. Just like AH1Z Viper (lastest version of Cobra helicopter) or interesting Mi24 Hind, or even Super Puma. Greetings form Poland.
terence44 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Mi-28 is my choice  ! [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic104172_5.gif[/sIGPIC] Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/terence44/
7rooper Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 The Havoc is a terrific beast! I'd really love to see it in DCS but that would be 2 russian gunships against 0 american. I think it's time for a AH-64A or a AH-1W to fight the KA-50 in MP. Awesome!! My rig specs: Intel Core i7 4770 @3.4Ghz // Corsair 16GB DDR3 // MoBo Asus Z87K // HDD 1TB 7200RPM // eVGA Nvidia GTX 760GT 2GB DDR5 // LG 3D 47" 1920x1080 // Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS // Saitek Combat Pro Pedals // Thrustmaster MFD Cougar pack // PS3 Eye + FTNOIR
RangerWolf Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I know it is not so interesting for the greater audience but personally I would love to see a good Sikorsky UH-60 simulation. I just love the Blackhawk especially in Medevac duty.
Ripcord Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 It's time for a AH-64A or a AH-1W to fight the KA-50 in MP. Awesome!! THIS! I would love to see a good Sikorsky UH-60 simulation. I just love the Blackhawk especially in Medevac duty. Wait, and THIS!! We need BOTH! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
StrongHarm Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I think DCS Apache would be wildly successful. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
