Nope! There is a professional Mi-17 Flight simulator/trainer around. It uses EDGE for environment, but is separate from DCS, as far as I know.

There are also videos on YT showing EDGE maps and the Mi-17 with Corsica, Batu in Azerbaijan and Afghanistan (Bagram airbase), as well as training scenarios in the US (Fort Rucker).

It seems all are professional Flight Sims and won't make it into DCS unfortunately.

Well but we really already have Mi-17 :)

Apparently Mi-17 series is called Mi-8M in Russian service, so Mi-8MTV-2 is, indeed sort of Mi-17 already :).

(Granted, the one on the video is looking like a newer version)

I would love to see a NH-90 (TTH or NFH I dont mind). It's quite a popular modern-day transport/utility helicopter used in 13 different countries (some of which aren't even apart of NATO)! A SH-60 Sea Hawk would also be cool to see especially with its quite surprisingly large weapon armament variety.

Not sure why some want more utility choppers so much. Honestly, what exactly would you do with a CH-47 or UH-60 other than fly around in circles? This isn't ARMA, we don't have proper troop insertions and likely never will. I have the UH-1H and feel like the $15 I paid for it wasn't worth it. In any case, my wishlist is more attack choppers. The AH-1 and Mi-24 are on my list of course and already coming. Beyond that, I'd like the AH-64, Mi-28, Ka-52 and Z-10.

I realy don't understand what is wrong with just flying circles with utility helicopters which obviously got a lot of TLC by their creators. It is just a fact that this is propably the closest way for me (and I bet a lot of others) to experience what it is like to fly a helicopter. The way the systems are modeled are just amazing. I don't fly Hueys and Black Sharks and Mi-8s in real live but I can appreciate the amount of work being done just to give me a feeling for helicopter flight. It is very rewarding for me to just fly these helicopters by the book and by the numbers. I have never liked the combat aspect. I find it truly satisfying to make a perfect landing at the end of a cross country flight.

Well, some people just want to blow things up. Other people want to fly the aircraft. Still others want to perform missions to achieve objectives. I like to do all three, so I would buy a UH-60 or CH-47 as quickly as I would buy a Mi-24 or AH-1F. For the here and now, the CTTS scripts bring a lot of fun to using the utility helo's. The ability to capture and use airfields with the troop transport scripts is very useful (I love dropping a stinger team off at the departure end of an enemy airfield and watching the mayhem ensue as well). Lately I've been practicing moving sling loads to oil platforms and ships which takes a lot of concentration. Arma is an infantry simulator and everything else in the game plays second fiddle to that. That being the case, Arma is a poor comparison for troop insertion as the aircraft flight models suck and weight is not simulated... A Blackhawk could never sling load an M-1 Abrams. In DCS the weight can be added to the helo's to make them fly as they would with an actual cargo... The only issue with this at the moment is that the cargo cannot be seen and when disembarking from the helo the troops magically appear outside the helo which in my opinion is a poor reason to justify not purchasing a utility type. I bought the huey knowing the current limitations of DCS... but I also know that DCS is still being developed so the growth of features is inevitable. Will it be an Arma type infantry sim in the future? I don't know, but it is an outstanding aircraft simulator right now and that's is why I use it.

Oh, and after the Hind F I wwould like to see the MV-22 Osprey.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

OH58D

DCS needs the OH58D! I have read that it is in possible development by Belsimtek. I think that would be a fantastic module! I have really enjoyed the UH-1. But the OH58D would make this SIM an addiction for me.

I would love to have US Marine Aviation implemented into the DCS. MV-22, UH-1N/Y, AH-1Z etc. Especially with the future release of the F/A-18C, the D model would be pretty easy, especially once the F-14 by Leatherneck productions is complete. You really open the whole can of worms with Marine Aviation when you include LPDs, LHAs and CVNs and the other supporting ships

I wish for DCSSA 330 Puma/AS 332 CougarI/EC 725

CH-53D or E

Blackhawk/Seahawk

I know, they are not really battle Helicopters. But i think we should also use them on that great Flight-Simulation.

In the current DCS World it would be the AH-64D.

If they would get a bit more detailed at low level and incorporate more of an infantry vibe - aka ARMA 3ish, then hands down it would be the MH-6!

If it worked perfectly... what's the fun in that? :joystick:

CAN i ask a question here:

DO we actually know of any helicopter that are in development by a third party.

Even the AH-1 seems to have fizzled away, nothing solid on it.

I'm dying to see some renders of our next helicopter but it seems that we're not even close to that stage. With all these WW2 and other 3rd party planes all seem to have some render screenshots it seems that we ain't getting no helicopter anytime this year.

It would put me at ease if i could see some solid evidence

Gazelle and BO-105 PAH are coming from Polychop Simulations. They seem to currently apply as 3rd party and clarifying licenses. Progress videos show the Gazelle at a near Alpha stage, and the BO-105 close behind...

...hmm, with the BO-105 who needs a MH-6? :musicwhistling:
