Like when aircraft gets upgrades that simply change avionics and carried weapons only.

The model of the Mi-24 is already in the SIM, we need a cockpit and then "simply" add the avionics and system modelling and develop an EFM... that would be the time and work consuming part. Even as most aerodynamic principles would be the same as in previously developed helicopters the characteristics of the individual model (Hind != Hip) need to be tested, adjusted and refined. Now we could "easily" model the fuel system, electronics and power distribution, lubrication system (oil viscosity, temperature etc.) and may be after 2-3 years development we could be ready for a beta release quickly...?

Edit: oops, forgot to mention the gauges! We would also need to model their characteristics as responsiveness, dampening of the compass for example, reaction to pressure loss for engine oil just to mention one algorithm you need to define, and so on. Ah, and the switch logic! What systems depend on each other and what happens iif you switch off/on something in a certain situation...

Grew up around the HH-65/SA 365Panther. Old man flew it and designed the first prototype here in the states. I wish we could see this beauty in DCS some day. No other helicopter has a more distinct sound than the HH-65. It out performed the Apache back in the day to. Great bird and would be amazing for DCS. Multi purpose from rescue/transport to attack.

ED is currently working on the F/A-18C, as far as I know.

Helicopters seem to be delegated to 3rd parties mostly Belsimtek.

Belsimtek work on the AH-1G or W currently, look at their section for further details or roadmap...

If they manage to actually get the bloody thing operational. It's one big disaster.

(and whit they i mean whoever is responsible for the NH90 development, not Finland)

Finland been using those for ages I believe.

I would like to see eurocopter tiger instead. ;)

Can we now have a wishlist in which we wish there were no more wish lists?

It's all getting a little beyond a joke, and it'll make absolutely no difference to the software houses what we vote for here. The stuff they make is subject to far more relevant things - like permission from the IP owners, and the availability of sufficient data to make a simulation accurate and viable.

Frankly these threads are getting a little tedious now.

It is not the wishlist threads ...

It is all the other threads that are not about a very specific topic that all (ok, 95%) eventually turn into wishlist threads...

"I wonder when feature X will be implemented!" ... "Yeah, so that they then could start to work on my dream aircraft Y ...!" ...

"Interesting fact about aircraft Z: blah blah blah" ... "Yeah, I wish they would make a Z!" ... "NO! They should make a X!!" ...

"How do I Y in my Z?" ... "No idea, but hopefully they make a X - then Z would be easier!" ...

etc ...
