That is something people shouldn't do. :P

its the only way to get information sometimes :)

I am happy with the way things are going, and I have faith in ED to take us all in this new direction.

but some want to be reassured quality will not drop.

Why is it that we worry obsessively about something that hasn't happened yet? The dire scenario's that play out in our minds are nothing ... no substance ... just a whole bunch of negative conjecture with no basis on reality

Don't worry, be happy ... megalol.gif

Nice advice.

It amazes me people buy this sim, love it, then start fretting about stuff they have no control over or knowledge about. And for what?

Instead of flying and enjoying the planes the DO have available, they worry about what they DON'T have available.

Quit worrying about what plane is next, who will develop it, how it will be released and leave that to those concerned.

Do your part and go fly what you have :pilotfly:

That's disconcerting if you have to ask that knowing how people are feeling on the forums lately.

I am wondering how it might all piece together, how the battlefield can be coherent when it looks like some time vortex sucked random stuff over the course of 70 years to present day.

That will be up to the people building missions. You don't have to make any particular aircraft available wehn you build a map.

I think it's funny that people scream for daily updates from ED about projects then whine and complain if they don't like what's provided

You've been here since April, what do u know? People don't scream for anything.. just an occasional tidbit would be nice but even that isn't provided. Nevada map is a good example. Until recently nothing was said about it for quite a while. Maybe we just want more of a good thing that isn't provided at this quality often enough.

I fear that this approach is going to destroy the series that has given the PC flight simulation world two of the best study sims ever made (A10 and P51). Not destroy the quality we expect from the dev team at ED but rather destroy the reputation you have created from years of high quality products.

You forgot to add Blackshark 1 and 2.0. With that being said, I add my voice to you too. However, as an optimist, I trust ED with the judicious judgement of what and what not to approve for release. Certainly they won't release anything under the current standards of A-10C/ BS2.0/ P-51D. There could be engine changes in the future. There could be modules of aircrafts no body thought would be popular, or even knowledgeable. Alas, every time I boot any of my DCS modules, I have satisfaction. ED is not stupid, and they will not tread into the next mile without thoroughly, and wisely assessing the situation, and determine the pros, and cons of releasing any new title to the market. And we shouldn't diss the people here for releasing their opinions. They are true concerned people, just need assurance.

With all the above, even if the 3rd party module is released sub-standard, ED will make sure it is second to none to any market sim. I trust ED, Wags, and all the nice people working here. And guys, lets give a chance. Maybe the new modules would beat A-10C's standard? Its a possibility.

Carry on, and God speed!

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Posting strictly as a customer, I think most in the DCS community consider FSX a cheap toy by comparison. I for one spent over $400 in total on DCS:A-10, not counting a new computer at an additional $1200. I never upgraded anything to run MSFS, and Falcon was always ahead of the curve on performance.

I think the only reason Thurstmaster are selling the Warthog HOTAS is because of DCS. Before that it was the Cougar for Falcon. Much is riding on DCS quality/fidelity. The best on offer for MSFS is not good enough here.

Tango.

Fact is that F22 and f15e or Eurofighter Typhoon are not declassified aircraft

Thus Cannot be on DCS standard! Period

A good amount of systems on the A-10C are still classified as well, yet we have the DCS: A-10C.

We'd all do well to wait and see :)

There are things in the real A-10C that are not in the simulator, and that are in the simulator but not in the same way they are in the real bird. ;)

If you want full, 100%, exact in everything, with no omissions, simulation of military aircraft, you won't get anything that is in active service anywhere.

EDIT: Dammit, sniped! :P

There is no such thing as a "declassified" military aircraft, not amogst anything currently in service or that used technology that is still in service.

There are several systems in the A-10C that are "classified" and therefore not modelled/not modelled as in reality, and yet 90% of people will have no idea.

Uhm....the A-10C isn't declassified either...There are items, even from suite 3 that aren't included in DCS A-10C because they are sensitive/classified.

If you want the real thing go buy one of the aircrafts. For instance the A-10C, they are decommissioned as we speak.

Oh sh*t, I better tell that to our pilots and maintainers.

Sorry my friend but you are VERY wrong. The A-10C may have its life extended to 2040.

100% realistic, oke maybe not.

But seriously a F22 as DCS standard?

AS for buying a reall aircraft, some time ago three were two Su27's for sale.

But guess what? I can't afford it:)

We'll see what comes up, but i have my reservations.
