Hello to all, long time lurker, first time posting, etc, etc.

 

Having a bit of trouble understanding the install instructions,

 

they read:

 

EXtract 'Bazar' folder to DCS World 1.2.0 directory and allow overwrite of 'teplowoz.edm'.

 

Now Firstly, I take this to mean to open/expand the bazar folderand extract the teplowoz.edm file into bazar\world\shapes (going by the path indicated in winzip)?

 

And secondly, there is a vaz.edm included in the attachment you have provided but there is no mention of it in the install instructions and curiously this file appears to be empty/size:0

whereas the vaz.edm in my game installation is 30.5KB in size.

 

So, is the vaz.edm you've provided meant to be there?

Is it meant to be 0KB's?

Are we supposed to use that file to replace the current vaz.edm?

 

 

Not exactly the clearest install instructions mate, I won't hold it against you though ;)

The installation method is going by using WinRAR, just unpack the Bazar folder from the package and drop it into the DCS World root directory, it should ask to overwrite the existing teplowoz.edm and vaz.edm.

 

The vaz.edm is just a dummy file that'll overwrite the existing one, it'll trick DCS into not using that car model for the trains.

 

Please remember this hotfix is a temporary stopgap until it's fixed correctly for next patch.

Ah my apologies, I just installed WinRAR and it seems it does things a little differently from WinZip which is what threw me, from now on I'll use WinRAR as this is what you guys are using.

 

So in fact pretty clear instructions Wags. :thumbup:

 

I'm doing well, my first post on these forums accusing the sim producer of not being very clear and it turns out I just fail at life.

 

And now, I hope you won't hold it against me. :)

If it helps, a free alternative to WinRAR is 7zip.

 

http://www.7-zip.org/

 

I find it superior to WinRAR not only because it is free (GPL), it handles many different types of compression formats and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Also seems to do its job much faster for both compression and decompression, but your mileage may vary.

 

All you have to do is right-click the compressed file > 7zip > extract here. And you're done.

Why not use ZIP files instead? ZIP files are natively supported since Windows XP, RAR files are not supported natively and require third party products ...

RAR is just as much a standard as ZIP, and can be more compression efficient. I reccomend 7zip for windows. Free and no bloat.

I don't know what you see guys with this new teplowoz model but the game crashes immediately if i hit

Lctrl+F12

Lshift+F12

Lctrl+F12

 

before the fix i saw the burnt diesel-train-engine but after the fix game crashes always

exception: no game crash if i find a moving train with Free Camera (Lctrl+F11) but then there are invisible diesel-train-engines @ the front/end of the train - electric locomotives are visible

 

 

otherwise we dont need the vaz.edm model "removing"

Well, i can see the new "fixed" teplowoz model, but ONLY in newer ModelViewers like v.63167

 

in older MVs the model is invisible , like in official v1.1.1.1 which is the etalon-MV to me

 

if no problems with/in 1.1.1.1 MV - no problems in game also

Here is ^ the mission but im pretty sure there is some problem with/in the teplowoz model what Mustang sent as a fix.

Maybe that was an early-unfinished-beta model, coz if i copy older cmd-style teplowoz.edm (date: 2012-05-12, size:43kB) and teplowoz_p_1.edm (size:14kB) from (4xmpl) v1.0.0.8. to v1.2.0 shapes folder then there are no problems in (almost-unmodded: only VAZ-Coach a tank blue fix was "modded") v1.2.0 with the diesel-loco.

Does Hungarojet's fixes in the RouteTypes.cfg work on the original files to fix both the burnt out engines and the Vaz cars, or does it need to be applied to the hotfix version?
