Mustang Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 During closed testing this bug hasn't reared it's head (as far as i know) so hang on till the next release.
RaXha Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Tihs problem just appeared for me aswell. I was flying on a multiplayer server, disconnected with the disconnect buton. Closed the multiplayer .exe since i was going to adjust some axis settings and when i tried to log back in to the multiplayer client it crashes to desktop when it starts loading the server list. I tried starting the client without TrackIR enabled but the same problem appears. I'm using ATI 5000-series videocards. Attached my DXdiag file and the crash logs generated. Could we please have some feedback on this problem. I'll make it easy : 1) The issue known as "CTD while retrieving the masterserverlist" : a)is a known and reproduced-by-testers issue ? Yes/No b)is believed to be fixed in the upcoming patch ? Yes/No 2) The issue of servers being dropped from the masterserverlist : a)is a known and reproduced-by-testers issue ? july865 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Maybe something that I write here my help a dev. I had been running DCSW server for a week without any issues. Yesterday I had installed "DYNDNS" updater program so that when my IP changes, it can be passed along. No sooner than when I installed it, I have been getting the crashes everyone here has been writing about. As soon as the master list loads, bam. Crash. The only attempted fix I had performed was a uninstall/re-install. It worked for only 2-3 launches of DCSW, but it has reared it's ugly head again. Weird thing, after the 3rd relaunch, it started to work again. But I'm afraid that it will reappear. Panzertard Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I would *Strongly* recommend that you do NOT download random DLL's from internet using google. High risk of Trojans. If you're looking to replace files - please make sure you get them from trusted sources. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Slayer Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Regarding the msvcr100.dll fix: what it is: Part of Microsoft Visual studio 2010 redistributable A microsoft developer has suggested a few things: 1) Do not refer this dll directly or indirectly in your application. In this case you just don't need it. 2) Package it with your application and install it whereever your application is installed. Many many developers choose this. 3) Install it from the link in my first post. (reinstalled the redist) Note: I am sure that you are not refering to this dll directly in your code as of now. Go back and check all the linked dlls which VS links for you by default and remove all of those which are not required. I don't see this file in my DCS World/bin folder is ED refrencing it but doesn't have a local copy in program directory so it uses whatever it finds in your system?? Could be crash source? a fix (KB976932) relating to the VC 2010 redist was pushed to my system on 4/12/12 As it stands now if I do a search of my PC I am finding 4 different variations of the file. one is 755k(my battlefield 3 directory), one is 750k (C:\Windows\SysWOW64) and one is 808K (C:\Windows\System32) also what appears to be a backup of each labeled msvcr100_clr0400.dll (the one in my SysWOW64 is 753k) If I go into file properties/details tab I'm also seeing that the version numbers are all different. No idea which version ED used to make their program or if an MS hotfix or windows update altered any of them. Back in the day we used to call this "DLL Hell" I see it is still alive and kicking. I thought by installing the VC redist that comes with the game we should have a current version? Every game I install these days wants to install it again and god only knows if it's a current version or not. Then windows update seems to install 3 or 4 hotfixes to this too... Maybe this should be elevated to a programmer who could say which version we should have? Edit: pretty sure ROF wanted to install this again too and they just had a patch not too long ago also... shelt Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) I have experience the MSVCR100.dll myself. Not sure why because I hosted and flew several hours the day before. When I started the game today and tried to connect to multiplayer, the game would crash with a MSVCR100.dll error. I need to add it would not even connect to multiplayer after several (4) attempts. Deleted the Network.cfg and Network.vault in the user>saved games>DCS>Config folder and the problem went away. I didn't reboot for this to take effect, just deleted the files and restarted the game Was then able to connect and host a mission with no crash Edited July 17, 2012 by shelt Intel i7-3770K,Windows 10 64,Noctua NH-U12S ,ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ,G.Skill 32GB DDR3 2400,EVGA GTX 1080,ADATA XPG900x2 RAID 0, CM HAF XB Case,Thrustmaster Warthog,Combat Rudder Pedals,Logitech G930 with wireless TrackIR 5, 39" Insignia LED 120Hz Monitor, Oculus Rift
narf Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Crash when loading multiplayer Hey, I have a problem when starting DCS Multiplayer: I got used to the fact that DCS crashes constantly when starting the Multiplayer. Usually the MP starts finally after some tries. I played a mission before and I tried to open the MP again but it crashes always when I click on "Connect": After the dialog box "Connecting to master", the game crashes and I get two screens which tell me something about an erroneous module: - MSVCR100.DLL - NPCLIENT64.DLL I don't know what the problem could be... it worked 5 minutes ago but now I can't start the game. Very nice... Greetz, narf
Ham Sandwich Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I was having the exact same problem until just now. It started today. I open multiplayer, then after seeing the "logging in to master" message box, i get CTD. And just now it worked once, i was able to log in with no problem. So i logged off to try it again to see if it was just a fluke, and now i'm getting an invalid master login/password message - using the saved login/password that just worked a few moments ago. Shall we guess there's something going on with the master server today? I found a thread with what appeared to be a similar problem: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=90859 ...but i'm not going to suggest trying the solution provided as it's very unclear and seems speculative.
narf Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 I found out that the npclient64.dll comes from my Track-IR. But shutting it down did not solve the problem. The game crashes accidentally. After about 25 tries, it suddenly worked again. I don't want to reinstall the game, setting up all Buttons for my joystick gave me the willies. Some parts of the game seem to be sloppy coded as many ppl have the same problem.
Ein Name wie kein Name Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Same problem here. narf Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I found out that it seems to have something to do with the TrackIR 5. When I start the TrackIR Software in normal Mode, i got a CTD in Multiplayer if DCS tries to establish an internet connection: CTD always occurs when logging in. Or, sometimes after playing a LAN game, it crashes when i switch from LAN to Internet. When starting TrackIR in Admin Mode, no crashes occur. Hope it solves your problem? (Kannst mir auch ne PM schicken) ;)

Details: * DCS multiplayer crashes when it tries to show the server list after login * Failing modules: MSVCR100.dll, DXRenderer.dll * UAC not on * Not using TrackIR Edited August 3, 2012 by msalama The DCS Mi-8MTV2.
