Rogue Trooper Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Wait for the BO-105 :D I am not sure.. I think the Bo-105 will have a seriously good range of manoeuvrability but will she posses the agility? For sure the power output of her twin engines in a light airframe and the hinge less rotors will allow for some superb "pointability" but.... I dunno... you may be right... I just gottsa feel them in DCS before I add my final judgement. :dunno: HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. Rogue Trooper Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) I think this will be an interesting and very enjoyable comparison... a supreme light weight chopper against the BO-105... but I would not count my chickens when comparing it to the Gazelle and ultimately the Vietnam OH-6. There is no doubt that she (BO-105), has a superb range of manoeuvers in the stripped down aerobatic mode... Hell, she is pretty damned good armed and hot to trot.. but is the true agility in all axis of mobility there? I for one am truly looking forward to finding out! I should have added that he flew no stripped down version of the BO-105. That was the standard commercial version for private customers. He was famous for developing several maneuvers on the Bo-105 including the looping (this was restricted by the manufacturer afterwards because they feared an accident which could influence the good sale numbers). i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Aginor Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Being more of a jet guy myself I am a bit jealous. The good news is that both jets and choppers by several third parties are on their way. And even props, for the old school guys! :) Concerning the agility of the stock Bo-105: When I was in Fritzlar last year getting some photos of the Bo-105 for the Polychop guys and myself I watched a Bo-105 solo display. It was quite impressive. And that was just a normal Bo from the German Army, not a special one. Granted, it did not do exactly the same stuff the Red Bull one does, still it was extremely agile. zaelu Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Wags said the new modules should be out by the end of first semester... that means until end of June. So knowing how delays happen and the fact that the Bo105 is expected end of 2016 start of 2017... I'd say be cool. The good thing is that the modules have time to be polished even more and even if they will come out as beta they will not be too much features incomplete. I hope also this time will be used to create some good videos to show off the helicopters. They can do magic for people having doubts on buying them. Phantom_Mark Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Very cool to see these come along, used to work on the Gazelle and the Lynx during my time in the forces, we always joked how the Gazelle sounded like a bucket of loose bolts as it flew overhead :D :pilotfly:
