What type of crash? do you have any logs or debug/crash reports to submit, Im pretty sure devs would be interested in seeing them if they are generated. Chris1012 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Can't get it to work at all. Extended, OVRService and wscript ended, direct, when I get the oculus as the main display I run it, instant action and get a black screen. I'm an AMD user. Any advice? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Why yes, I did just crash...
J-1775 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi guys I just got my DK2 today and I cant seem to make it work. I downloaded the runtime and SDk and the demoes work, but when I start dcs and enter a mission it acts like the rift isnt there. I have the auto detect on. How do I fix this? I have one HDMI and 2 DVI ports on my GPU. I have the hdmi plugged into the montiro and and rift through an adapter into the gpu dvi port. So you have OR detection checked and I also assume you run in extended mode? Did you close the OR service? You can easily do it with Bilago's small managing tool - search for a download link or you'll find one in this Reddit thread: Try it ─ you miss a lot. Yesterday I started the Dora landing mission, but after aborting the final approach the Oculus kept me in the night sky for a full hour, because it was so absolutely marvelous! Flying low over the beaches into the sea, I slowed down, opened the canopy and took a deep breath. Only then, missing the salt in the air, I suddenly realized it's just a sim... Another thing not to miss: the P-51 RR's sparkling in the dawn. The new head tracking is so much better than TrackIR!

Its a CTD, it doesn't even load the GUI, i see the splash screen, then it blinks a couple times and a get the standard windows close program thingy that happens when any program, not just dcs CTDs... i have error logs, but where would i put it? not able to just cut and paste cause it's all coded, not just plain text. Revelation Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Got my DK2 today.... Well I will say that flying the Sabre is pretty impressive with the DK2. I agree with most here that the resolution still needs to be improved, but man it was crazy... The cockpit is just amazing, I could sit there and look at it all day long. It's crazy how you want to reach out and grab all of the levers and push the buttons. I will say that my neck started hurting; I'm used to just turning my head ever so slightly with TrackIR and now you have to really turn your head and upper body. Something I have to get used to I guess. Once the resolution is up to par this is definitely going to be a must buy for all. USARStarkey Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 so when I run DCS is doesnt seem to be reconizing the rift. In non-extended mode nothing happens at all. In extended mode, the head-tracking isnt working and the screen is too high. Auto detect is on. The config on is and it sees the rift and the camera. The demos and tests scenarios work. Cant figure out what the deal is ive already tried every usb port. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Weed Be gone Needed

Tongp Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 LOL, I don't know. Haven't had that situation arise much as I don't even drink very often. I'm not sure if i'm stating the absolutely obvious here, but he is not talking about alcohol. there have been reports that other substances assist the queasiness. I have not heard of many instances of sickness with the DK2, the low persistence certainly helps. The only time ive felt slightly queasy was at the top of a roller coaster, and im sure that would make me feel queasy anyway. Anyway, I am one of those unforuntates with a DK2 and an AMD card. So looks like I wont be playing DCS with the DK2 until Edge.

Ya - I have had crohns for a long time (though not as severe as most since surgery as a teen and with long bouts of remission - long enough that I got into and through 4 years in the USMC without issue) - anyway I did get sick a couple times during my first go at college and one of my professors insinuated the same after I ran out of her class to go puke. To be sure when the MM question came up on the ballot in MA with crohns listed right in the question I of course voted a big fat yes, though I have not had need of it up to this point. Bonine/Dramanine would probably be both cheaper and easier though it was (mostly) a joke and I don't expect Id actually need anything.
Mnemonic Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Got my DK2, didn't tried DCS yet, but noticed that when I run my screens at 144 Hz (their native mode) then low-persistance mode on DK2 doesn't work, I need to lower screens down to 60. Will play around more with the settings.

Hadwell Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Individual Displays should operate their own independent Refresh Rate in Windows. That's Odd. not when you clone displays, only when you have them running in extended mode, if you clone them, meaning showing exactly the same image on both displays, they both end up running at the same resolution and refresh rate(the same image)... well i mean... getting 75fps (on average) in DCS with the DK2 is impossible even with the 780ti (yes i know in some situations it does go up past 75 fps, but not as often as not) so i guess it doesn't matter, but still Edited August 14, 2014 by Hadwell My youtube channel Remember: the fun is in the fight, not the kill, so say NO! to the AIM-120.
