The entire concept is a non starter. Its been proven time and again that venerable platforms that have matured over the course of decades are far more cost effective and practical to sustain in a budget limited period than pie in the sky new projects.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Jan 17th 2015, war in Ukraine

After the second Minsk talks the ceasefire is as expected - nonexistent. The fighting near and IN Debaltseve (controlled by Ukrainian forces before the talks) is ongoing with first signs of encirclement by the Russian-backed rebel forces.

Update:

Ukrainian forces withdrawing from Debaltseve.

The video below shows T-72B3 which is, to all my knowledge, exclusive to Russian army

Bucic. I need pictures of the Russian smart grads and designators. From what I heard the specops designate the enemy armour and the hail follows the laser. There are also supposedly a thermobaric bore launched round which can also be guided by laser SPOT.

You need to start a new topic. I won't be able to help you but there's a high probability someone else is going to provide you at least a hint.

Why don't they just use a ramp instead like the Brits and Russians? I would have thought that any electrical would be vulnerable to an EMP attack.

A ramp or ski jump limits your take off weight even more. You need a longer takeoff run, etc. Electronics, shielded correctly, are protected from EMP AFAIK.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Just read the news: Seems German Wings lost an Airbus 320 with 148 passengers in the french alpes region 100km north of Nice... No details, yet, but it seems unlikely somebody survived.

I'm really curious to know what happened. These planes are not exactly old and likely to malfunction, and German Wings have pretty well trained pilots with experience... Too many accidents like that, recently.

Another bad day for general aviation. :(
