Slap_Chop Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 6192????? I'm, still at 6065 and it does not want to update !!!! Am I the only one with this issue? It's a clean install from scratch...even deleted the saved games folder. Speck are you running the Update DCS World Option from the Windows Start Menu\ All Programs \ Eagle Dynamics \ DCS World \ ??? I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
speckfire Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Hi Slap, I tried both ways and it was a no go. However, I just disabled my anti-virus and it worked like a charm. Coincidence??? I have no idea but it worked now !!! I guess people with the same issue try to disable your anti-virus and let us know if that fixed it for you. Speed is life !!!

REL Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I'm still 6148, tried: 1. running DCS multiple times in different times. 2. disabled Anti-virus. Can I run the Auto-update on it's own?
beers Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 hash mismatch error seems to be solved by turning off anti-virus!! might have to first run the 'repair DCS' and then update. 2600K @ 4.2GHz, MSI P67A-GD55, 16GB G.Skill @2133 , GTX 970, Rift, SSD boot & DCS drive [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

REL Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Yes, from start menu And that's the solution for me... updating now:thumbup: I guess DCS shortcut didn't run the Auto-update somehow :(
joey45 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 And that's the solution for me... updating now:thumbup: I guess DCS shortcut didn't run the Auto-update somehow :( Only once every 24 hours. beers Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 No, the hash error is due to server load. IF it has anything to do with server load, then that is ONE of the possibilities. there might be multiple causes, but i can say for sure that it would try to download, and fail consistently at the same point in the progress bar, it would do it over and over while other guys in my squad were able to update at the very same time that i was failing, suggesting to me that it was NOT server load in my case. this afternoon I tried it once, twice, then disabled antivirus and the 3rd time worked, and so i would suggest my example is pretty clear cut. in my case my antivirus is Kaspersky. 2600K @ 4.2GHz, MSI P67A-GD55, 16GB G.Skill @2133 , GTX 970, Rift, SSD boot & DCS drive [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Gunnergolly Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Just wondering are you guys out there generally noticing an increase in FPS with the the latest patch ?. Just that i'm now finding that my FPS is really struggling since i've updated to the latest version :( Tested with the BS2 "Battle" mission and i'm now only getting approx 20 FPS when i have my Shkval turned on, previously to this latest update i could run at a steady 38 FPS which is what i cap my FPS at. Has anybody else who's machine was running well previous to the latest patch noticed a decrease in performance ??.. Thanks... Slap_Chop Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Has anybody else who's machine was running well previous to the latest patch noticed a decrease in performance ??.. Thanks... Was the opposite for me Gunner. Have ya rebooted yet ? That worked for me one day when I thought the FPS went down after a patch. Also what vid card ya got brother ? If you got ATI card try turning off TSSAA and MSAA. Also Gunner what version does your World say ? (Bottom Right Corner Main Screen) I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MemphisBelle Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Just for you guys to inform you. If someone is not sure about the current Patch Version, so just check this wiki page. It is the new DCS Wolrd page I created in the wiki. It also displays the newest Patch Version (scroll down). It would be nice if some of you guys, who created a wiki account, could check whether a new patch update is already changed there: wiki link. That would help us all. The path is: ED Wiki / DCS World BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection

(not sure it got into 1.2.1.6148, if not, it'll be in the next update for sure) 2) autoupdate.log file is for troubleshooting purposes only. 159th_Falcon Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 This is annoying, getting the following autoupdater error when i try to launch the game; "another updater instance is running" When i press ok error screen goes away but DCS World won't start. Meaning i can't play it. Anyone know a fix? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

aaron886 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 This 6192 update Kicks A$$. FPS Rocks. Have a great weekend Devs. Indeed, I think I'm back to or nearly back to where I was, FPS wise. Thanks very much for your hard work ED devs and thank you c0ff for this awesome auto-update feature! I hope you guys are seeing the benefit of your labor!
159th_Falcon Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 ctrl-shift-Esc And manually kill the process. Sorry my bad, actually tried but there is no process running under either "applications" tab, "processes" tab or "services" tab. (at least not starting whit ED or DCS or AutoUpdater) Also rebooted my computer several times since yesterday that i started having this error. Hope this additional info helps someone helping me. Razorback Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Update update, ok, but how is it possible to have the auto update when the computer is in stand alone not linked to internet ?
EtherealN Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 DCS World is a downloaded game, where the paid modules require internet activation, so I'm not sure I see the problem. An autoupdater is a very good thing for the vast majority of players. Being compatible if you have no internet is of limited use since you won't need multiplayer compatibility anyhow, right? If you really-really don't have any dcs_updater.exe or dcs_update_apply.exe processes running (double check, please), and still get this error, check if you have a Saved Games\DCS\autoupdate.lock file. If it does exist - delete it. This should help. Btw, it's an OS glitch then, not the updater's, because this file must be deleted by the OS when the process exits. Thanx for the help c0ff, unfortunately there is no such file in the savedgames/dcs/logs directory. (only LOG files and OLD files) Also double checked for the processes in taskmanager and there not there. As it an idea to try the autoupdater in safe mode whit network ?
