Since the last update i noyiced the trim on FC3 and A-10C is offsetted 90 degrees. hence trimming up and down, the aircraft trims left and right? i think this trimming problem isnt just isolated with FC3 and A10C, but all the modules. So trimming the BlackShark is next to impossible. My BlackShark wants to flop over to the right when i trim.

I always found it "unflyable" since 2008 and eventually gave up on it entirely. :music_whistling:

But I have no answer for your immediate inquiry. ;)

Use center trimmer mode.

The trim is perfectly fine in the shark and i can still make her do things that she shouldnt be able to do. the same shortly after she was released.

Take a look at your curvature and your deadzones. unplug, replug, calibrate if neccessary.

Failing that, come along and pay us a visit tomorrow night on our TS about 2000 UK time. i'll fix it for ya.

Errr... hold on. Are you aware that trimming a fixed wing is completely different from trimming a helicopter? Your question seems to indicate that you're trying to trim fixed wings the same way you try to trim the Black Shark.

That's not how trimming helicopters is done. There's no trimming right/left/up/down. Trim is more like "release forces on cyclic stick at its current position". That's also why there's a huge difference between trimming the Shark with force-feedback vs. no force-feedback. If you don't have a force-feedback stick, make extra sure to untick the corresponding checkbox in the options.

Next, read, re-read, and then read again PeterP's standard Ka-50 newbie reply. I'm 95% certain that it'll answer all your questions on trimming (well, and most other questions as well). :)

If you are using force feedback, swap axes in the FF tune panel in the control settings.

that sounds like it might work. ill give it a shot.

what im implying is all the modules are broke, not just FC3 and A10C. I just want to bring this issue to ED's attention so it can be fixed in the next patch. the trim bindings are broke period.

It is my impression so far that other forum members do not suffer the same problems.

It is my impression that the difference between fixed wing trimming and rotary wing trimming may have a huge impact on the outcome of this discussion. Especially so because you posted in the Ka-50 forum but, at first glance, complained about A-10C and FC3.

Further, all of your previous posts indicate to me that you may have been completely unaware of the difference between the trimming methods, especially concerning the intricacies of DCS: Black Shark.

Finally (concerning this topic), my trim bindings for DCS: A-10C and DCS: Black Shark 2 (1.2.2.7570) are not broken, so I cannot reproduce the problem you originally described, independent of it being of a "period" type in your opinion or not.

thanks for trolling my thread.

I tried to the best of my capabilities to help you solve your problem and point you in the right direction. If you feel that was the wrong direction, you could easily tell me that you're very well aware of anything I tried to tell you and that, unfortunately, it did not help you.

Your response, however, made it clear to me that my first response had been conceived as being 100% non-constructive. Given that I had invested some 10 to 15 minutes to formulate it and look up one of PeterP's previous posts on the topic (which I still feel may help you solve part of your problem), you may possibly understand that my next response was less helpful.

trim works as advertised when i fly in the A10. i have not heard any complaints from the eggbeaters in our group about trim in the shark. its not bugged.

Good answer Yurgon ... trimming works as described. I'm using the Saitek x52Pro with the Pro rudder pedals.

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

FFB for the G940 and Force 3D Pro is broken in the current version :

Major FFB Issue?

Here is a workaround by using a external FFB program while DCS is running:

average_pilot has compiled a new version of his FFBSIM tool.

This should be the number one alternative for G940/Force 3D Pro BlackShark pilots.

As mentioned, check that you've (in the axis page) swapped axes in the FF tune panel in the control settings.

If you don't do this, the controls will do the opposite of what you expect when trimming with FFB.

I just checked with my MSFFBII, and that works fine, however people have had trouble with G940 - see threads linked above.

Cheers.

LOL! It´s true that the first hours on this chopper is pretty traumatising. I remember how incredibly difficult it was for me to simply fly straight, not to mention landing on a given spot. It takes a lot of time to manage a simple flight, and I am not talking about systems!

Anyway, trim is working just fine as before (well I should say "as before" rather than "just fine")

I can't seem to trim the A-10 since some time, but I flew the shark yesterday and it works fine.
