Originaly I beilieve I had that problem too, but with present settings, and using nvidia inspector, not only 1fps drops when I fire the guns, no matter what vew I am in, and my system is not the top... i5@3.3, ASUS Nvidia 450 GTS 1GB DDR3 !!!

So what you did?

 

I got Q6600@3.2ghz + gtx 560TI and i got huge fps during firing ( also when other firing too).

 

Any solution?

 

Edit.

 

Tried disable 0.50 cal shell but not help. Still huge fps drop with firing rounds from any plane - sometimes more sometimes less fps drop

I agree. It's one of the top things I think need to be resolved. Yesterday I was in a low-level strafing run in MP and it occurred...with a less than ideal outcome.

I would think that it's being covered (at least partly anyway) in the change log under:

 

DCS World

• Tuned aircraft gun smoke.

 

I see that as very vague, I would have expected this topic to be covered under a P51 module topic, but there is not one listed, so I hope you are right, but its certainly not clear.

I can confirm this. In multiplayer, it also lags when your buddy fires, or you fire for that matter. Solution? Short 1 sec bursts.

Ratfink, which component would you say attributed to the success of you eliminating the FPS we all get when guns are fired?

Improvement for me on this issue with 1.2.3 - the tracer smoke looks far more realistic to my eye too, much less dense and dissipates more quickly. Still a slight hit to frames but not the slide show I was experiencing before.

Now that I have had some MP time, I do appreciate the improvement, dont get me wrong, but I do see it still when there are a few of us teamed up going against a couple AI's.

Yep, what Fakum said. Yesterday in MP with 6 human and 2 AI aircraft there was some noticeable lag when rounds where being fired. However, it is much better than it was previously.

HI!

 

I was tried online P-51 dogfight and im not happy.

 

Still there are some sttuters, huge fps drop during shoting and i think huge fps drop beacuse of clouds.

 

So generally game is not smooth and little unplayable for me :(

 

Offline mission against AI is playable mostly 60-30 fps but still very huge fps drop during long shoting :(

 

I was hope for better optimialization expecially for shoting and clouds.

 

I got Q6600@3.2Ghz, 4 GB Ramm, Gtx 560Ti, Win7 64 bit.

Thats not my expierience at all,, all my graphics settings are maxed out on a 30" monitor running 2560x1600. Before the 123 update, the fps drop was horrible, there has been significant improvement that I have seen, I still get dropps with about 4 of us in there, but if I had to throw a number at it, Id say I have seen an 80% improvement. Maybe your settings? I dont know, Im pretty happy with the frame rates in Multi that I am expieriencing. Id like to see more improvement with the FPS drop while firing, but I guess I shouldnt complain so quicky after the last improvement.

These is problem which not only i got.

 

In 1.2.3 version is little better beacuse when heavy firing rounds there is not slide show like before but still there is huge fps drop even from 60 fps till around 10-14 fps.

 

Normally i got 60-40 fps during flying but with firing rounds there are huge fps drop.

 

Also i notice that with clouds fps is much less av. 20-45 fps.
