On my old hardware (sig for specs) I'm getting a stable between 30 & 35 FPS on campaign FC3 F15C mission 1 on these settings. Considering how demanding DCS is, I'm actually happy getting that much :D The swap to my SSD did help a bit ;) but not that much, however I admit it's more fluid. How about you?

Oh wow ... 35 fps, thats nice. I get similar numbers but I need to have scenes and shadows to low and no cocpit shadows :-( Also no civ traffic. Did you do some lua tweaking or is this with standart config files ? Also what missions are you playing ? I can get full fps (50 with VSYNC) in simple mission I create in mission editor but when there are more units and lots of thigs are happening all over the place the fps goes down a lot.

ps : we have very similar machines

edit : oh right - you're talking about fc3. I guess thats not that demanding. I dont have it - I get these results in a10c

Im getting between 50 and 70 in FC3 , and 15 to high 20's with A-10C .

Civ traffic off as its a FPS lkiller .

Water set to low , vis set to high , heat blurr off , MSA off .

60 - 30 depending on situation in A-10C. The HDR effects and also the flood lights seem to cost quite a bit of performance.

Settings all to max except MSAA off and Bushes to 0 m

System:

Intel® Core™ i5-3450

Asus Radeon HD 7870

25-40 on the ground (depending on mission and time of day), stable 60fps (vsync) at 6000ft AGL (this is in the A-10C, I don't have FC3).

I have two GT 545's in SLI in my Alienware purchased new last year.

I have to turn settings down and I run the monitor 1600x900 to lessen the calculations necessary for higher resolutions. The aspect ratio is the same.

I am looking at a single card purchase of either the GTX 680 or the 690 and more ram, and maybe getting a better cpu top of the line for my sandy bridge socket. I have 8 gigs of ram, but I get pretty close to maxing it on the 104th's server, sometimes.

But I am cheap, trying to live with what I have.

I would like to see DCS World to use 4 cores and SLI.

I usually fly the copter, BS2 in DCSW. FPS anywhere from 60 to 9 and usually around 40.

Here, with one i5 2500k@4.2ghz + GTX 670 Windforce3x(Last Nvidia drivers) + 8GB Corsair + SSD for OS and HD for DCS and other games = 60 in flight and 45 on the ground.

But as everbody should know, when I drop any kind of cluster ordnance or when I fire some rocktes, in any situation my FPS drops below 30. Leaving this issue behind , it´s only love with DCS World and FC3.

I play with everthing on MAX, unless civil traffic (OFF). Cockpits at 512 and MSAA at 8x.

I have an NVidia Inspector (i.e. driver-level) FPS lock at 30 and that is where the framerate stays for the most part, barring rocket salvos fired which slow things to a crawl. I'm running an i7-2600K @ 4.4 GHz / NVidia GTX580 10% overclock / 16 GB RAM / Corsair SSD / Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 rig. If I let it run free I'm seeing anything from 15 FPS (those blighted rocket salvos again) up to 200(!) or so, but also suffer from irregular stuttering and the video card running a bit too hot for my taste. But said 30FPS limit combined with a 1/2 refresh rate vertical sync lock and ya, the sim is smooth as silk

With my i5 3570K at 4.2 GHz and MSI GTX 680 Lightning OC'ed to 1.3 GHz (the GPU has Twin Frozr II cooling and the CPU is cooled with a Corsair Hydro H100) I have the fps at 60 most of the time flying and approx 40-45 at ground level with everything maxed out. With my current craptastic 21" monitor I run at 1680X1050.

I can get occasional frame drops during multiplayer sessions to approx 30-35 fps though. But not very often.

Full specs are in my signature with TrackIR 5 on the way...

EDIT: FPS above is for A-10C and P-51D

Dug this post up, quite useful for reducing stuttering in DCS (only recommended if you have 6-8gb of RAM or more)

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=90480&page=2

i've been running without a pagefile for well over year and haven't regretted it once, no problems at all.

I initialy had set my page file system managed pointing to a 2nd SATA drive since my windows is on my SSD, however I just changed that settings.

Will set min/max to 1024 on my SSD http://www.overclock.net/t/1133897/windows-7-ssd-tweaking-guide Will give that a try

Disabling it all together haven't intensively tried it, but from the get go seems to work as well. I haven't checked how much RAM DCS actually uses when flying.

From my knowledge having a page file or not, windows should not (say should however it actually uses it) be using it unless you didn’t have enough RAM, so disabling for extensive application like CS6 Photoshop, rendering movies and such, might not be a good idea running without one, but to be honest, the opinions varies so much on the subject, that the only way to say is to try it and benchmark it yourself. I would say if you run without one and never had issues? Then stick with it, however for users experiencing abnormal crash with some applications or games, then I would recommend that they re-enable system managed for at least to see if it prevents the crash from happening. Especially when memory leak bugs comes into play…

EDIT: Yep min 8Gigs of ram would be recommended...

However wished that DCS would be more hyper threaded(actually I don't have HT, old school Quad here , but the ability to use all my CPU's) friendly, seems to concentrate all on my 4th core… I would think the flight experience would be smoother if the CPU resources would be spread out evenly…

For me it's all on Core 1 and 2.

Isn't the sim on core 1 and the sound processor on core 2?

Or did they optimise it somewhat and scale it across further cores?

Here are my settings. Even with my i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz and two 580s, I use lower settings to maintain 45-60fps.

Most helpful options for me was putting water to low and shadows to medium. If you put shadows to low, you don't get cockpit shadows. However, on medium, you do, and 99% of your time is usually in the cockpit. I find it hard to see any difference in shadow quality while in cockpit between high/medium. It helped quite a bit with fps when I have tgp on.

Nice setup :D try disabling hyper threading in your bios, who knows you might be surprise by the results ;) Your system specs did not include if you where using a 64bit OS, hopefully you are, if not then your wasting that sweet rig for nothing lol.
