TeeJay82 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 As i take the occational manpad love stick up the rear, i allways loose both or none of the hydrolic systems when i get hit in that area... so i just wonder.. does the su only have one hydro system powered by 2 pumps, or are there 2 seperate systems wich allways spring a leak in perfect harmony?
159th_Viper Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I would hazard a guess and say 2 separate systems. Herewith a pic of a Toad taking one up the tailpipe for the team. TeeJay82 Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Awesome picture :) But then i would like to ask the rest of the community: Have you ever got shot at and lost only one of the hydraulic systems?
ARM505 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 .....and trundled back to base for biscuits and vodka Fixed that for you :)
159th_Falcon Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Awesome picture :) But then i would like to ask the rest of the community: Have you ever got shot at and lost only one of the hydraulic systems? I think i have seen it. Don't recall whether that was in FC2 or in FC3 though. But, given the fact that the frogfoot was designed almost 100% whit survivability in mind i am pretty certain it doesn't only have 2 separate hydraulic systems. The lines will also be routed differently where ever possible. But that's just my personal logic combined whit what i think to know about the frogfoot. speckfire Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I think I remember being hit once and lost only 1 hydro system but the 2nd one was not fully functional on it's own, ie it did the minimum required to lower flaps and gear for landing. Speed is life !!!
seikdel Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Yeah, last night when I was flying, I was shot and lost my left hydraulics. I lost a little bit of pressure on my right hydraulics, but then they held steady until I was coming in on final. I dropped the gear and they made it about 80% of the way down before they bled out the hydraulic fluid that was left. ...does that count?
BRooDJeRo Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 So a destroyed non-functional system also counts as 'not destroyed'?
ZaltysZ Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) Fixed that for you :) You forgot to fix the "biscuits" part. :pilotfly: http://www.colourbox.com/preview/1723650-849612-fat-with-vodka-on-a-newspaper.jpg Edited February 18, 2013 by ZaltysZ Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.

Every missile strike I have had so far takes off a wing. Only flown a few hours in the SU-25T and only because we have been trying the sadistic 'Assault on Mineral 'nye Vody' mission. 2-3 A-10's were not making headway so I drew the short straw and ended up in the SU-25T. Good fun, but would like to take at least one of them back to the airbase one day. joey45 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 You're flying her all wrong. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. SFAL Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 that mission is a breeze compare to Dragons HC Terrorists.... the only thing that u have to be aware is to AVOIDE flying OVER enemy positions... flown the mission serveral times and the trick is to set up a red line which u dont cross. Take the advantage of SEAD capability serious and fly with wingman... this setup might help 2 Kh58 and 4 Kh25ML 50%fuel and throtle to max... no ecm but turn IR Jammer on... 4000m after u kill the SA11 SRs move 15km closer.... fly ne sw and vice verca... your wingman should fly opposing way so u and him has a good look at the EZ pick off any IR sam from a good distance and return... btw this is usefull for any mission... LA over ride will give u duble distance on laser guided missiles... kh25ml 19km kh29l 22km s25l 10km u wont get auto track but u can guide them manualy and at 10-11km auto track kick in... the frog IS a devastating weapon platform.. an par with the a10...in aome regads better... the su39 can carry radar for aa and ag missiles.... its fast and small... wish it would be high fidelity.... :)
karasawa Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I like the damage system, simply the way it works gives me a sense of realism
HiJack Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I like the damage system, simply the way it works gives me a sense of realism Yes it does but the hydraulics should take several hits to go out. Would love a comment from some technician at ED on TeeJay's question.
TeeJay82 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 I like the damage system, simply the way it works gives me a sense of realism It works allright :) But correctly? I guess i have between 40-50 hours ingame with this plane.. probably muuuch more :o but never the less... And out of all times ive taken damage, either both systems function or bleed out... BUT! With both hydro pressure lines bled out, im still able to use my trim.. Wich again are a hat swtich on the stick... and i would then guess its hydraulic and not eletrical... im just guessing, could not find any info on google :/ So my wild guess is that somethings wrong here...
EtherealN Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I don't know exactly how this is implemented in DCS World and FC so I can't asnwer the specific question, but just as a general reminder; modeling of the Frogs is not really anywhere near the detail you have with f.ex. the A-10C, which can certainly be expected to cause some "weird" results. One of these days I want my DCS Su-25, that would be so awesome. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
sobek Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 One of these days I want my DCS Su-25, that would be so awesome. :D Denied. The AT-802 will have to do. ;) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

TeeJay82 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Throw in a 300000hp cub with loaded with some russian TSAR`s while your at it :o
Kaktus29 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Froggie in action... man this thing can take a beating and still work.. sadly most of the time it was used during the most important time Russia was fighting Islamic fundamentalist they were not equipped with any of the important imaging systems ... Su-25 has one flaw,it was meant to be used as CAS in case of serious war when speed meant life.. this thing is too fast for CAS..unless you have the latest radar system and optic system its just too stressful for the pilot to find the target, unload the weapons and be on the lookout for enemy firing at him.. For me, this is the CAS plane you take IF your side does not have 100% air superiority..if it does have it, A-10 is better it can loiter and do damage.. but you need air dominance to make it work.. What i do hate is.. the airbrakes.. do they work? i mean, is it really so hard to slow this thing down? everytime i use airbrakes as i attack an enemy position i see my speed skyrocket (yes, i am in a 10-30 degrees dive but still) this thing just goes 600,700 than starts to shake as i approach 800 .. how in the hell am i supposed to be mindful of enemy firing at me, finding the enemy and lase it, mess with my TRIM, wish against wishes to slow the plane down, thinking if the Lase is overheating, trying to listen what my wingman is doing and staying alive.. but still love the Su-25.. the speed makes it phenomenal.. i hate it and love it..
