LexiconG2 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 So there is a lot of super slow development on DCS add-ons and new additions. Is the development teams just small and not enough interest or are these projects just for small teams of people that have a passion for this sim? The terrain has been around forever. ptako Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Size of team is not the key here. Don't think like some project managers do, that nine women could give a birth in one month:) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] -- "The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good shit. Don't think like some project managers do, that nine women could give a birth in one month:) Similarly- 4 devs working on something like 15 projects isn't looking great either. Silver_Dragon Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 10 Teams with 30 projects (For now), not bad. Remember, All 3rd Parties has not a SDK or a manual to build addons. Everyone is learning on the fly. As they go out addons and improving the experience of the teams they will be accelerating the development process. Still, there are issues such as flight models and testing can not accelerate. SkateZilla Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 3d Part is easy enough to transition, most of the teams are re-working models to use DCS Feature Sets for Rendering. But Coding is a Real 'buster... Basic coding/scripting is easy, but the advanced C+ stuff seems to be a bit harder. joey45 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 90% is code.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. BRooDJeRo Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Guess there's always quicker and slower developers. The Huey dev seems one of the the quicker ones already being an official part of DCS with more vehicles in the works. There's a chance you might see more of this in one of the next 2 updates of DCS. This should wake up the slower devs a little bit more that the game is on.
