I'm curious about if 3 or 4 players could cooperate well within such a helo

I can see issues with sight tracking, as it as now with the awesome copilots steady hand it's tricky to keep guns on target, I can't imagine doing it with a human flying.

I can't prove it but i suspect that this is the most realistic helicopter flight model that has ever been put on a Home Computer.:D:thumbup:

It is SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!

Just as the p51 IS,

and the BS

and the A10

Well... it's as good as DCS World :-)

I didn't yet get FC3, but it's on my plans, even knowing it's a simplified systems simulation... As far as I know, flight dynamics are as top as those on other DCS modules.

As I have written more than once, being a civil pilot (in RL) and simmer, DCS is the first combat sim that stayed on my Disk and actually made the rest look like ... toys :-)

Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

@tusler .. i agree, the most detailed simulation of helicopter... of course Black Shark is also the most detailed simulation but of co-axial design here we have the standard design simulated..

so we are lucky to have ED around to give us the 2 most detailed and amazing simulations of helicopter design.. to test it on our own and get a feel of it..

simply astonishing..

when i see this and realize what a small community we are and then see the CoD and BF3 community and how much money their design and developer make while ED has to make much less it makes me sad a little bit.. so much more detail, so much dedication and fidelity and the reward goes to the Cod and BF bunch..

ED deserves(Belsimtek) millions of USD for their efforts..

Hope our sim base enlarges or something.. ED deserves it..

but what about the black shark?

The BlackShark while Equally Great has a lot of assist in roll and pitch so I am not directly connected with the FM as such. Like the difference in road feel between manual steering and power steering. I have them all but i think the Huey has the purest flight model i have ever felt on a PC.

The way things are now we can still do a whole lot more with the BS than the Huey though.

Pfft... The shark is nothing compared to this tough girl. Boy, you're spoiled!!!

When the Shark came out I thought it was incredibly difficult to fly, but I now see that the Shark is simple to fly compared to the Huey :P

Hovering in the Shark is easy, when I try to hover in the Huey she looks like a drunk ballerina.

Wwwwwwut ?

don't touch my shark !

Just post your first landing with her Huey. tracks worth a 1000 word.

huey is very very cool indeed, but it needs some improvements especially It's cyclic sensitivity makes it very hard to control , trying hovering means suicide right now

Use an axis curve for now, I did and it makes a world of difference.

Green bar

Hello.

Some one know if there are a option to get rid of the green bar in game mode. I will beginn there before i jump to simulator mode.

But the green bar make me crazy :)

Realy love this lady :P

Flew it about some on a few different Multiplayer servers, both with the rudder trim and autopilot cheats and also without.

I only AutoStart'ed it.

Once in the air and up a little ways it flies fairly stable.

Flew under the power lines a few times. Flew it around low in the big cities dodging buildings. Anybody try flying through a railroad tunnel?

Ground hover by me at takeoff is not very steady and a nice easy does it landing is going to take some work.

But taking off is fairly easy.

I have the 3 CH controllers: Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals. I set a plus 30 curve for the cyclic both axis and the collective and the rudder at plus 10. I used the same CH Control Manager profile I am using for the Ka-50. Am working on creating a separate Huey profile.

One sortie out and about, I screwed up landing, the entire rotor came off in one piece and went flying off into never-never-land like a UFO. I was on an Aussie server, so my contribution to their boomerang.

It took me almost a year to get fairly good in the Ka-50.

Huey will take some fine tuning by me. I like it!

I will spend time in the training missions and reading the forums. I am going to find a squad to fly with, flying this thing.

Go into Options -> Controls -> UH-1 (Sim) -> Axes and use the Axis Tune option on each of your cyclic axes. This allows you to adjust the response curves and or saturation for each axis.

Response curves are often adjusted to REDUCE stick sensitivity around the centre, but bear in mind that this means you'll get INCREASED sensitivity as you move the stick towards its extremes.

Saturation allows you to reduce the amount of input when the stick is at its maximum deflection. This gives your stick greater precision, but it means that you'll be unable to fly the Huey to the edges of its envelope. This isn't a problem in most situations, but trading maximum stick travel for precision seems like a questionable trade off.

Do something like this with the controller axes (pitch, roll, yaw & collective respectively):
