Teapot Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I really hope that this means that MilViz will soon be developing for DCS? "A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft." Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!
Blaze Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Why would this mean that? i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. You can want it, you can ask for it, but you don't automatically deserve it. "
Teapot Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Why would this mean that? Why should it not? Use your imagination my friend! A picture, a caption ... F86 on Final ... DCS forums (albeit other sim news ... nudge wink etc. Besides, I didn't say it did mean that, I said I hope that it might. :D "A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft." amalahama Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Creator of this post is not Milviz, so I don't see how you can come to that conclusion :) anyway Milviz pop up in this forum now and then, I really hope he changes his mind and join to the rest DCS developers crowd! Regards!
JB3DG Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) While i work for Milviz I am not Milviz despite my username(I am merely the coder on this baby and a couple other future projects and im still trying to get my username changed to Naruto-kun) and as such i visit these forums really only for DCS A-10 and Combined arms stuff...The Big Cheese or Big Kahuna KrazyColin as we know him is someone else and i dont think he is on these forums... amalahama Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 hahaha, sorry what an embarrasing missunderstanding! Anyway, let's hope your 'Big Kahuna' changes his mind someday, DCS is full of posibilities and a potential that FS just doesn't have, It's a more suitable platform for military simulations, we all would enjoy flying your creations in World, there is business here! Regards!
JB3DG Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) As someone who is very familiar with what Simconnect and good programming skills can provide, I can assure you that the potential of FSX is SORELY underestimated. My mentor drilled this into me: "The only limitations are your skill and imagination." Edited October 10, 2012 by JB3DG
BHawthorne Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Milviz is very aware of DCS third party options now available. It's been brought up multiple times on their own forums. I get a vibe that they have enough on their table as is developing for FSX and adding another platform isn't a priority. I also get that vibe from VRS who make the superbug. Mostly at issue is manpower hours required to do a quality aircraft. There is no cut and paste translation between FSX and DCS. Personally, I'd liek to see several more MSFS add-on devs also adopt DCS, but it's too early in the game I think for some devs to bite on the idea. I think we'll find more devs receptive in 2013-14 than now. It's a lot of manpower and effort needed to develop a DCS or even an FC3 aircraft. I don't doubt someone will do an F-86 sometime in the future because it's a classic and a prime canadate to be done. My totally ignorant guess is that it's not on Milviz's to-do list right now though.
Pyroflash Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 DCS or not, it looks simply stunning! If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

aaron886 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Great modeling and a nice weathered look. Is that how the gunsight in the Sabre really looks?
Reaper26 Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Great modeling and a nice weathered look. Is that how the gunsight in the Sabre really looks? Sure is. Keep in mind there were many variants of the F-86. This one is specifically the F-86F-30.
kyletiernan Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 That is a fine looking jet! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

BHawthorne Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Looks sexy. Just wish it was a F-84F-25GK. So much is common between the aircraft instruments. I guess I can dream. Noone has done a good F-84F on any platform.
nick10 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Milviz's beautiful F-86 I reckon the developers need to do all they can to get this model in DCS World. Absolutely beautiful: http://www.milviz.com/fs/item.php?id=F-86 How about it chaps?
