Military aircraft aren't about "what's right," they're about what wins. F-35 might not be out in the wide world yet, but they will be soon. The F-22 and B-2 are out there, and the F-117 has already completed its distinguished career. PAK-FA will be flying too before we know it, even that Chinese piece of crap. Stealth aircraft are reality, and DCS is about reality. You might be upset that the Red side might not have their corresponding stealth aircraft at the same time we would get the F-35 on Blue, but that's the reality of virtually every aircraft in DCS (though I'm sure they'll slap a slick-ass Ruskie paint job on the F-35 in the meantime too). Red is going to get their PAK-FA eventually, the F-35 just went in to development first. Doesn't mean you should kill off either one just because its corresponding opfor aircraft isn't ready yet.

And about including 5th-gen aircraft with the existing platforms, we've got the comparatively-ancient P-51 (which I love) and the Huey (which I also love) now and we'll be getting 3rd-gen aircraft like the Mig-21 soon enough. There's already a strong precedent for including aircraft that are "out of place," so to speak. So if you eliminate the idea that we're going to have DCS as a sim set in an actual place and time (though this is obviously possible at the mission designer's discretion), this is really a decision between including more aircraft or not. I for one would love to see the F-35 as much as the F-14, Mig-21, or whatever else I can get my hands on. I want them to develop the hell out of DCS and include everything they can think of. I'm sure most people here want the same.

And to the guy you replied to, it's definitely A-10C level. Not FC at all.

I said it would be acceptable even if it were FC3 level, even though it will be hi-fi, just to illustrate a point ;)

I'm sick of people shifting the yardstick and calling comparatively high level sims "arcade".

There was an announcement yesterday on SimHQ. I wonder if they are going to get their announcement in any gamer/flight sim mags...

Magazines complete their issues months ahead of time so unless he has already got something in the works it isn't going to happen in time, considering only 15 days left for kick starter...

Is this a kind of virtual pilot elitism? Simulation or game? REAL Flight Simulator is used to train real pilot to fly real plane. What most of us do is for entertainment and do as a hobby. That's game, simulation game to be exact, some are just more complex than the others.

That is correct and the SIMULATION is more complex than the GAME.. Hence the different terms used..

Hello, sorry I don't get here more - I'm pretty busy with the funding. Thank you all so much for your support. We have sent press releases out to every major gaming site... should hit in the next couple of days.

The Fighter Collection, Eagle Dynamics and Digital Combat Simulator have announced they are joining forces with Kinney Interactive and will be building all three models of the F-35 for integration into the DCS World, starting with the F-35A Lighting II. The family of F-35 aircraft will include complete standalone campaigns, training missions, and a variety of instant action missions. In addition, Kinney Interactive will be developing and integrating full carrier operations, including the CVN 78 and LHA-6 for the C & B versions. Pilots interested in getting involved with preorder incentives, access to Operational Evaluation, Beta, squadron affiliation, Kinney Interactive high seed server access, and exclusive interaction with the Kinney Interactive during the development period of the F-35 aircraft should go to Kickstarter and sign up as a founder and or Test Team Member today. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/683368164/748130296?token=d2b32f44

CEO and Developer David Kinney commented, ‘’I am delighted to be developing this combat simulation module add-on for the DCS World combat arena, one that is well established, and growing. I have for some time wanted to provide the combat flight simulation community with a highly accurate simulation including photorealistic graphics, both inside and outside the aircraft. and equally important, I want to provide accurate flight dynamics that will give the pilot as real an experience as possible. I am looking to develop a range of aircraft that are in line with the customers preferences, and maintain the high standards of other DCS aircraft. This is truly the first step in bringing 5th generation air combat to the to the combat flight simulation community’’

DCS: World is a new, free, combat simulation. DCS: World provides a free-to-play Su-25T ground attack aircraft with unlimited online restrictions. Just a quick thought - it really is great to be working for guys that want to fly the real thing!! No buttons here to bypass engine start - Get the checklist - start your jet. That's why I'm pushing so hard for a walk around capability. I really want you to be able to appreciate the size and the beauty of your jet. All my best guys - Eagle

Glad to hear you are pushing more PR, eagle. You are doing good for the first day, but to rely on this community alone the momentum will die very soon. PR will help keep things going. I wish you luck, eagle.

Thank you Starkiller, and to all I'm looking forward to flying with you

You will be seeing me for sure. My all time favorite flight sim is DiD's Total Air War (F-22), so I have a weak spot with the 5th gen a/c. You will took $500 from my pocket if the goal is reached, and my wife will kill me after that lol.

Nothing, just tired of people calling whatever not 100% accurate a game in contrast to the game they like which they call "simulation" which is just another kind of game and also not really 100% accurate.

Now that the kickstarter thread has disappeared into this one, there should really be a link to the kickstarter on the first page of this thread!

In ecommerce terms this leads to a higher abandonment rate and statistically lower conversions. In this case, on the whole, less people get to the kickstarter page to pledge their support.

If you click on the link in the first post it takes you to the F-35 page that has a Kickstarter link right there....

This is a difficult decision. I want to back you guys up, but I will be in a very busy time of my life when the F-35 arrives. BTW, I see that when you pledge 150, you get F-35B or C. Does that mean you cannot buy it separately, but you have to pledge 150?

You will be able to purchase them separately, it's a bonus of an additional airframe at that donation level. You get the choice of the B or C.

You can buy anything you want separately... The B or C thing is only in relation to your $150 pledge... (you get one or the other with the $150 pledge)

So pick the pick one and buy the other if you want to...

Hell you could buy multiple copies of each if you wanted to.. Has nothing to do with your pledge..

The $250 pledge makes no sense in this regard. At $150 you get the B or C, but if you want both it is an extra $100.
