metheluckydonut Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 while Outlaw and c0ff are busy checking hashes... ;) - can please anyone that didn't used the direct Huey module download and is still on a Huey version that is updated by the autoupdater , please check if this track matches with the video on their install : >> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109925 Thank you very much! Did that. My Huey install has since the first public release of the beta only been updated by the autoupdater and the track plays perfectly fine. 1 DCS Wishlist: Ka 26

OK - so there is NO change to the FM. Thanks! rep inbound. --all I wanted to know and what is important for this thread.

Yep so that means that the autoupdater works correctly on his machine... My guess is that it works correctly on most people's machines, but there are some that have issues... Hopefully someone else will be able to verify this but the fact that ED is testing with the exact version of installer we are talking about leads me to believe that there is not only an issue but they already know about it... We shall see.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted July 12, 2013 ED Team Posted July 12, 2013 please check if this track matches with the video on their install :It's not quite correct technique, it based on assumption, that tracks always reproduced correctly. But unfortunately they don't. I think the way shown by my colleague is more efficient. Gentlemen, please cool down. Possible issue will be checked carefully. PeterP Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 :) I'm cool. - I just wanted to make sure/show - that the 'updater issue' can't explain why so many have problems with the FM of the Huey. again >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=109925
marker Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) I'm just about to unistall the module and reinstall with the latest downloaded version from the site! I was one of the buyers before the flight model was changed to an easier landing version, ie harder to enter VRS and the heli doesn't blow up when it just looked at the ground! Will update asap. Cheers Ok did the above, an absolutely no change for me, so I guess my auto update patch worked the first time. Still a hell of a lot easier than it was before :) Edited July 12, 2013 by marker “Any pilot should be flying the spitfire, at least once.” – John S. Blyth

PeterP Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Hrm? ...sorry - I also don't know what the 'people' want - but it seems that 'they' want just 'everything' right now and here - ...seems some are lucky and get it all at the same time. Edited July 12, 2013 by PeterP

You say absolutely no change and then the very next sentence it is a hell of a lot easier for you.... Which was it? ??? Absolutely no change to my version. My auto update worked ok and I can confirm that the module on the site does indeed have the harder to enter VRS AFM. I was commenting on how easy it was to enter VRS before the last patch, which some people might be still running if the auto updater isn't working for them properly!. marker Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The workaround did not make any difference to my experience, because my auto updater worked properly the first time! What I have clarified is that by downloading and installing after deleting the module via the module manager does indeed give you the easier flight model. Basically I wanted to verify that the module was installing properly as some people still seem to have a hard job landing! As I stated before, I purchased the huey when it had the very easy to enter VRS, so I can recognise the difference! “Any pilot should be flying the spitfire, at least once.” – John S. Blyth

So, you're basically confirming outlawal2's comments that auto updater somehow does not always work. I understand it that way, that he compare two different and independend situations: 1. the Huey FM of his auto-updated, previous, installation is the same as the FM of a cleanly new installed Huey module after he de-installed the module before. 2. the FM of latest Hues module, auto-updated or manually installed, contains the toned down VRS when compared to any older version of the module Absolutely fed up with people not being able to read! ED Team c0ff Posted July 13, 2013 ED Team Posted July 13, 2013 FYI: We were testing the updater just in case. Going through all 7 releases of 1.2.4 with autoupdater works perfectly. No differences found between incrementally updating your install and installing the latest version from scratch. As it should be. Dmitry S. Meaning the autoupdater did not work, I had to uninstall and renistall everything...

Ahh yes the standard IT "Well we tested it fine with our machine so everything must be fine" Yeah I guess that means that I have been full of crap for months and that the folks that have chimed in and thanked me for the workaround have made the whole thing up as well.. Whatever, I am tired of this whole thing but just to make things crystal friggin clear.. Your product has an issue with the auto update. You can ignore it or sweep it under the rug if you like, I no longer care For the rest of you folks having issues, good luck as I have provided more than enough evidence of the issue along with a workaround fix that has helped multiple customers. You remaining folks have an uphill battle and I for one quit! "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO

pyromaniac4002 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Ahh yes the standard IT "Well we tested it fine with our machine so everything must be fine" What would you have them do? If they can't replicate the problem, they can't diagnose and fix it. Give 'em a break, they are trying.

Hyperbole, much? Entire forum, really? I believe you. ED never said the won't fix it..they just might not have any control over DCS. If the file hashes are the same, and they are responsible for generating the files, the problem must exist elsewhere. I'm sure in your case, it helped to reinstall. It won't be the first time a glitch occurred during an update. It's just your "me vs. the world...gotta come out swinging every time....(this post for example)" that gets old.
