Luckybob9 & SithSpawn's B17 Project

As you know I have mentioned that Luckybob9 & SithSpawn were quitely working on the B17, this project is now on hold due to the announcement of RRG intention's of making a B17.

 

Here are some more pictures of tonight test mission run..

 

 

Hopefully soon I will have a video out showing it in action..

If RRG really builds a B17 then you guys could switch to Lancaster I suppose... :D

 

But as the KickStarter looks... I think you might have a chance with yours. But you might want to tweak its service ceiling :P .

 

I think such heavy bombers would not be justly simulated if besides uber AFM and full cockpits, engines, weapons systems a super uber complex damage system that could make the plane look like this but still flying.

 

 

 

 

Such module could be sold separately at 49$ (20$ when on sales :P ) but with limited complexity (FC3 level lets say) and the full blown simulator at 200$ and 100$ on sales. imho... (although I know many would pay much more for such thing, I think a common price could be placed around those numbers... if a proper map (like from UK to Poland) would be created for it... and sold separately)

Please keep going with the b-17,This would be a fantastic addition to the game with dcs ww2 or without it.

 

It's models like these that keep me flying in the hope that more content will become available.

That looks mighty fine, shame it's on hold for the DCS WWII project. Even as AI only could make some good missions in the P-51.

Just maybe..never know..but right now..the is a frame rate issue being looked..takes a toll..flying with it..more than one bomber..:music_whistling:

If RRG contacted you before the KS campaign started, maybe a video showing B-17 being attacked by FW-190s and defended by P-51Ds could have been made and maybe more people would have been willing to back it. Pure speculations of course.

Yea, but the Gents wanted to keep it a secret for the time being..in case things didn't work out..as wanted and still was alot of tweaking and testing was to be done..

besides the boys are working another project along the same lines..I'm sure everyone will be pleased..with the outcome...:music_whistling:

 

I'll leave it up to them if they wish to announce what other project is in the works...

The Do17 was purchased by Double D, the B-17 was from Tomcatz I believe... just having fun :)

Like SithSpawn mentioned I purchase the Do17 and passed it on to SithSpawn and Luckybob9 so I guess you can say, in a small way it is inhouse..only from the redoing of the model to work in DCS..more model's :thumbup:to come...

DCS Europe 1944 kickstarter campaign at the time of this post gathered $115,541, the goal to develop the B-17 is reaching $425,000 and they only have 6 days left.

 

I don't think you should stop developing it really, because for now a B-17 is not coming to DCS.
