If i fly for axis I would love that i mean to be outnubered .But i don't think i's possible because if i want to fly axis and the server will not let me join because it has a certain ratio of allies to axis aircraft than i can't play at all.

But if i fly the p47 i wouldn't like it .Too few targets.

Yes, it's a fine line between trying for the most realistic scenarios and not infringing on people's overall fun. It just really annoys me when I often see servers where it is something like 12 vs. 5 in favor of the Axis side. When it's 12 vs. 5 favoring the Allies it doesn't bother me since that's what real Axis pilots had to face at that time in history.

I like to fly on both sides, but I almost always try to be a good sport and play for the underdog side. Not everyone does the same.... :(

Nice post Echo. Has nothing to do with my quote though... I merely pointed out there will be times when one side will have a more advanced aircraft than the other. Simple as that mate. No hidden agenda I'm afraid. Sorry to disappoint you.

It's also not just the aircraft and it's standardization wiether field modded or factory, it comes down to that individual pilot who understands the plane and it's limitations best. You could have a Spit vs Dora match up online one day and have someone who just hops into the spit right away and starts out turning everyone but there is that Dora pilot who refuses the turn and keeps his energy and superior climb abilities above the spit and ends up the winner. All in all I'm not saying the modifications shouldn't be implemented, in the end it's ED's choice, but if they are picking an aircraft from say '43 or '44, the n keep it within historical reasoning because that's what this is, a simulator. Alas we shall only see what the future holds and what duels take place and who the victors are in the end.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Given the limited plane set that they're releasing it makes sense to have the most common historical match-up which would have occurred during that time frame. While I don't know about the Jug for the Mustang going up against a K-4 it most likely would have been a 72" Mustang from the 8th airforce. Otherwise we're getting an early '44 Mustang going up against a late '44 / early '45 K-4. That's not a massive problem for single player but if ED wants MP to take off they need to consider this kind of thing.

I'd like some sort of single player option to up the boost... Just to see the difference in factory vs. field modded P-47's. It'd be interesting.

What time do you fly?

When I go online during the evenings on US time zones, I do not get to fly the P-51 because the P-51's out number the axis design's.

If I get online during European evening time....the opposite is true.

Answers to most important questions ATC can ask that every pilot should memorize:

1. No, I do not have a pen. 2. Indicating 250

Lately, my flying times have been all over the place.

I do see that trend somewhat, but I personally haven't seen any huge Allied numbers in a while.

it would be interesting that implemented the use of fuel 91 for training or fuel 100 for combat missions, seeing the importance that was given in the P47 training manual.

Does anyone know if they said something about this? :smartass:

Or the cockpit Screenshots of the P-47 and Spitfire from the february newsletter.

Well that was 2 months ago, think folks are just looking for a little something since that time. Especially since it was originally expected in March (P-47). March came and went, April is almost gone too, think it's natural to wonder a bit what is going on with it.

Can't recall getting the April newsletter so maybe we'll get something in there, just saying, hard to blame folks for at least asking, since it's been a little bit without hearing.

There aren't monthly newsletters, newsletter come when there is enough info to warrant it.

Been a long while since we saw any signs of life with DCS WW2

We're closing in on the end of April and no newsletter in sight for all of DCS.

It may just be crunch time at ED for DCSW 2.0, is all.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

Guys, please get back on topic. Newsletters come when they come, but this isnt the place to be discussing it. When there is more news on the P-47 they will let us know.

If your talking about the very last pic of the P-47 broken in half.... The pilot had just landed when the 500lb bomb oh his centerline shackle came loose and exploded beneath him. I'm pretty sure the pilot survived. A testament to how rugged the P-47 was!
