The release of the beta is our opportunity to help bring DCS up to our expectations, but it's no good if we don't turn the heat up on it a little bit every now and then.

 

I'm going to load a "clean" mission- no MIST, no CTTS... I'd like to get 15-20 folks in for a solid flight and see if we can help polish off the cannonball a little. (Edit: Looking at the data transfer in the mission, it's is VERY low- so I'll try and cram as many in as I can... 30+ if we're lucky.)

 

Granted, it may not be one of those "in your face" missions with loads of targets and a bunch of triggers... I think the chopper guys will want to run in with their new B-17 mod and do their thing a little and I'm quite sure the A-10Cs will find something to do.

 

Got some new modules for Christmas? This would be the perfect playground to come try them out. We're running just about every flyable aircraft with the possible exception of the P-51 since we already know firing the guns crashes the server and I'm not sure that got fixed in the latest patch. A-10s A/ C, Su25 / T, Su27, 33, F-15C, KA50, Mi8, UH1... JTAC / Ground Commanders as well for small scale ground combat.

 

Blue slots only- so if you and your buddy want to go off and have a dogfight somewhere go ahead... but please be considerate to others in the area and announce your intentions either in chat or on TS3.

 

 

Since we are affiliated with SimHQ in a round about way, most of the Firehouse regulars and SimHQ pilots will be running SimHQ's TS3 which does require free registration for login credentials.

 

However, groups can choose their own TS3. If someone wants to offer up their own channel for the occasion, please post!

It'll be up all day Oesau so feel free to drop in when you can. If I'm on top of it I'll restart throughout the day and submit all the logs and tracks (in the event of a crash or crashes). Maybe hit a few trigger points.

Got things rolling a few minutes late and found the server had crashed from a mission last night. Took me a few minutes to get the logs together and submitted.

 

The show is on.

 

Be advised that the mission will reload approximately every 4-5 hours unless guys in there are running down some of the ambitious tasks (long flights to target).

 

There will also be an instruction channel in the simHQ TS3- any instructors working with fledglings in proximity to others will announce their intentions so people can keep a wide berth.

 

I won't be monitoring the WHOLE time... but I'm going to do my best to hold the event throughout the day. In the event of a crash, we'll get the logs packaged and the mission rolling again.

Bit- if we get enough people in there, any ping over about 200-250 will start to cause others to stutter... if it's causing too many problems you may be asked to step out but otherwise you're welcome to join and stick around as long as possible!

We're up and running with about a dozen guys in so far. Would like a few ground commanders to come in and shake things up.

 

A couple things noticed so far- tacan needles don't seem to be pointing to the right aircraft and were not sure if that p51 gun issue got fixed. Anyone know for sure?

Server is back up... made some adjustments to tankers to see if that helps with the tacan issues we were having.

 

Reset time of day to make it daylight... and also removed the P51s because of the known gun issue.

Crash for me now.

 

Using ground troops engaging Red forces southwest of maykop.

 

It seems in first person with a T-72, i suffer a crash when an ATGM hits me. First my screen went freeze, then CTD and DCS stop running.

Thanks for the host Eno - no crashes for me but I did have a strange map issue that showed destroyed map objects (as white so not red or blue) that I will do some further testing on

I am reloading the server here in a few moments. I will be making a few adjustments to the layout so there are more vehicles for ground commanders to control in the same area.

 

I'd really like to get that fight on.

 

Most of the other stuff is going pretty smooth. A few weird graphic glitches that I'll elaborate on later!

Three consecutive crashes in different situations.

Server crashed just now- and I've upped the ante with some Air to Air positions. I'm going to ask in advance that the A2A guys just stick to their corner of the map and not interfere with the ground guys... not really the intention of putting them in.

Definitely need the tracks. If they're too big to attach, just upload them to a google drive or similar place and link to them in here or in the beta bug reporting section- probably the Combined Arms thread (I think there's one)
