Steam version key for 1.2.7 ?

Can we transfer our keys to steam now we don't need the old cd version anymore? FC3 is the only reason I don't use the steam version.

You can install it manually and then when you launch it from Steam it will activate and work. There is a post someplace here (sorry forget where) and it works great. I had all my modules installed in Steam except FC3 and I have all modules. I used this method to get BS2 upgrade to work from Steam with no problem. I'll see if I can find the thread with how to update it later.

ED has to send the purchased serial numbers to steam. Usually they do it once a month. With the number of FC3 keys it may take some time to sync the serials with steam.

I am also interested in learning when existing FC3 keys will start working with steam. Is there any information other than "keys sometimes get uploaded monthly"?

When the Existing keys are merged,

 

All you'd have to do is:

Games Menu,

Activate Game On Steam,

I Agree,

Next,

Paste License Key,

Next.

I just tried activating my FC3 bought on the ED Store to Steam and I am getting this error:

 

 

I live in Australia if that helps, previously I was getting the invalid product key message as the keys had not been synced but now I'm getting this.

Why is it actually not possible to do all the key merges at once? For me as a simple person it should be a pretty easy job to do. Or do the key's need to be converted first or something.
