Thats how Viggen works, it uses barometric settings for weapon deployments, how the MIG functions I dont know. But they are both cold-war jets, perhaps it was common back then?
-
Correct as is? I don't understand. Can I ask for feedback on why this is good? Command bars do not move in the current version. That's not correct.

Thank you, can we also use the Flaming Cliffs MIG manual for training?

Hmm you are indeed correct...funny I could have sworn that last time I tested it, It was only for the G and S variant. Might be I just let what I knew about the 9.12 give me the assumption that since that the FC MiG-29A is suppose to basically be a low fidelity 9.12 and the 9.12 didn't have the plumbing for it, -with the exception of some versions that were later converted later in life, that they wouldn't carry it by default.

Computer IP is useful for some more advanced lofting where you need to designate and release before you gain sight of the target. Like from behind a mountain. Effective with both LGB's and CBU's against SAM sites for instance.

Good I don't know how to make a track. But that's the problem I'm talking about. If you can upload it, great. -
Yes I agree you bring a really good point, I remember when I started DCS years back I asked in the multiplayer chat what aircraft to buy, the reply was what mission do you want to fly? Basically you buy a aircraft after the mission. To get back on topic (so the mods don´t close this thread) when it comes to bombing itself, I just find the MIG-29A strikes a perfect balance in difficult level, it kind of blends technology with pilot skill in a really good way.

Updates to be accurate to this patch Edit: damn forgot to put in that you need radar in dummy/EKV to get radar secondary work (such as radar ranging in TP search)
-
Besides this post, are there any links with updates on the T45 development progress?
-

nope test it yourself, in mission editor you can have wing tanks on the mig29 A, i know as i already had a mission set up with an AI cap for long endurance, and sure enough have gone back in to check and still an option in the mission editor on the FC3 Mig29 A, but not on the new FF version. So not sure about historical real world on what was around in early 80s, just highlighting the difference we have ingame.

The skill in the F-16, F-18, and other more advanced planes isn't in the bombing itself, it's in bombing more heavily defended targets, in worse weather and/or at night, while still being able to keep SA on other threats or respond quickly to support calls. Doing all of that also takes skills, just different ones than the MiG-29 requires, in the same way that manual dive bombing in the MiG-15 or F-86 requires different skills in the opposite direction. For any generation of planes, there are easy missions, hard missions, and impossible missions. The next generation of planes makes easy missions trivial, hard missions easy, and impossible missions hard, and they have their own impossible missions which would be completely suicidal in earlier generations.

You shouldn't let that stop you. You can have a lot of fun shooting down enemy air targets with the practice weapons. The smoke rockets make it easy to tell if you've hit the target. You should also re-enable the Damage and Failures sections in VNAO_T45.lua. I copied part of the A-4ec's Damage section into the T45's Damage section since they should be somewhat similar.

@Calvin.Pimax Hey Calvin. I tried again tonight and it ran excellent just like last night but this time it did crash. I was hoping there would be a correlation between good performance vs not as good performance as an indicator if it would crash or not. Seems like not. It did run about 30 min this time before it crapped the bed. Not sure why all of a sudden its running better but I'll take it, but it still seems likley to crash. So I guess I still need supports help. The ticket number is #111697

Have you tried deleting the FXO and Metashader 2 folders in your DCS Saved Games folder yet?

I kind of like the challenge of bombing in the MIG because in the F-16/F-18 it takes no skill at all. In the MIG you actually have to develop skills, but it is not on a crazy difficult level like bombing with the warbirds (WW2). The MIG-29A Fulcrum strikes a perfect balance.
