I did some performance testing on CWG map, flying around Berlin in heavy clouds/rain. Since my mod is increasing the cirrus clouds from 1K to 4K texture resolution, it does cause increased VRAM usage. In my case it was about 1G more VRAM being used with the mod active. This hasn't ever been an issue for me with the 4090. In version 1.9 I will offer a version with lower resolution (1024x1024) cirrus textures. This will keep the VRAM usage roughly the same as default but still offer better visuals and variety. They won't look as good as the 4K versions up close but for VR users it won't matter much. FPS and frame times are basically the same in my testing of mod vs default.

We've had home flight sims for 45 years. Sim developers NEED to find a better way to model this.

Изначально я привел в пример (уже жалею) избыточную облезлость Томкета, которая, похоже, действительно была нормой, к концу его службы, по крайней мере. Это у него табло плохо читаемые и служебные надписи затерты. У нас тут спич образовался о том, что до такой степени МиГи, похоже, не доводили. О чем уже свидетельствует несколько ссылок на видео. И поэтому его не хочется получить в состоянии F-14. Только и всего. Чего тут гадать. Может, объем регламентных работ разный (советские кабины точно подшаманивались, подкрашивались). Может, дело и в том, что у Томкета назначенный ресурс раза в три больше. Чего вы спорите с надрывом всё ещё, чего ради?

I'm pretty sure I saw a thread a while ago reporting this as a bug, so it's an issue with the game engine cloud rendering. I'll see if I can tweak the settings on scattered showers 5 to get rid of it. It does only seem to occur in certain types of cloud formations.

And your speculation is based upon what?

My first throttle was a CH Pro. When compared to say my Virpil CM3, the CH is frankly not in the same league. Fewer buttons, just one throttle axis, fewer buttons, nothing like as sensitive or accurate and felt like it was made of kids toys plastics in comparison.

I've added a post in Normandy 2.0 also (but didn't get any answer so far) since I receice wrong directions to IAF. Could anybody in ED and/or UgraMedia respond? Not having proper basic ATC for years is not a minor issue.

А вот Гарнаев. Везеринг очень близок к игре. Да, видимо свежие самолеты. С другой стороны программа испытательных полётов весьма обширная и заняла от 5 лет и это только самые первые испытания.

We're all in North America. We have a handful of hornet dudes but not a dedicated "squadron" We're a semi-serious group and flights are based on the mission. We only do Fridays as we all voted for that day as most of us work early Mondays.

Хотя ни я, ни кто-либо другой в этой теме не писал, что непременно нужно их сделать не читаемые. Все видео которые я представлял были ободраны только РУС и корпус кабины. Все надписи были читаемые. Так, что не приписывай другим того, что сам себе напридумывал.

I see the preview versions have loose buttons let’s see how they turn out. Those dials look like they might have too much range for a zoom slider though. It was $172 I consider it a band aid until something convinces me to remap everything I have 15 years of button memory there…

Попробовал полетать зимой и летом, но каких-то кардинальных отличий не увидел. За 100% стрелки всё равно не заходят, а с увеличением высоты полёта не добираются и до ста. Если взять МиГ-29, то у него хорошо заметно, что обороты на форсаже могут быть чуть выше 100%, на Су-27/33 же я такого ни разу не видел. Потому и закралась мысль об ошибке.

The Heller Viggen - I have built my fair share of those. In fact, one was the first ever model kit I ever had, when I got my dad to buy it for me at an airshow at Saab in 1982. The Heller kit was nice for its day, but is sadly lacking in detail and finesse. The last two Viggens I have built was the Tarangus boxings of a JA and an SF. I was quite happy about how the JA turned out. The SF isn´t finished yet. It has been on the shelf of doom, awaiting weathering, for a few years now.

Hey @BIGNEWY, I don't usually post about these things, but in this case I'll make an exception. The Mi-24 is certainly one of the best modules DCS has to offer. If you now have a relatively accurate simulation model of the SPO-15 in the course of development for the MiG-29, then for God's sake please bring it into circulation. None of us expects it to be free. Charge $9.99 for it, for all I care. Or $14.99 for that matter. Whatever. But please bring this system to the Mi-24. And while we're at it. Why not the NS430 as well? If you're bringing it to the MiG-29—which I think is a completely correct decision—then please do it for the Mi-24 as well. Sell it for a reasonable price, but please make these systems available to us. That's certainly a valid point, considering the various PvP servers and the gameplay itself. Again, no one expects you to do this for free. But please, finally throw away all this "yes, this is a model from such-and-such a year and we can't do this or that" nonsense. Hey, you can make money with this. In any case, I wish everyone a nice and relaxing week and thank you for hearing me out.

This is the equipment database for another sim, CMO. Their standards for sourcing information is much lower than DCS, some values seem to have been pulled from Wikipedia. Being a high level command sim, they need much less information than DCS modules, and it doesn't need to be nearly as high quality to produce acceptable results.
