As soon as I described my symptoms and all the things I had tried for troubleshooting, they offered to send the normal 50ppd as a replacement and I accepted. They extended my trial and said it would be extended to 7 days after I received the replacement module to allow me time to test. I keep the UW until I can test the new optical engine and decide to keep the Super or not. I used the online chat and support were very quick to respond. No ETA on the replacement optical engine though, so could be a while. Mura is present when looking at bright backgrounds like the sky and clouds. I can see a fine horizontal and vertical mesh/bars when moving my head around - annoying, yes, but I could probably overlook that if the picture was sharp, undistorted, had minimal CA and FOV was as advertised. I've been very happy with Pimax support responsiveness and willingness to resolve - I just hope the 50ppd is better and arrives soon.

You don't have to "make" a trackfile, just SAVE it from the debrief window when you end the mission (it's an option along the bottom). Best to keep it as short as possible and ideally for the devs if it's on the Caucuses map. A track would be very helpful as this feels like user error more than a bug. You should need to press once for each release in PP mode (not hold) assuming you are dropping them on different targets.

Any practical reasons for this? Cheers! One can use this with Quaggles so one doesn't need to alter the file after every update, only push the Quaggles mod after every update with a mod manager, and Quaggles doesn't break IC. -

1) I found the pimax home environment to be low quality its not a good tool to use for "how good is this headset" however it should be infocus. I have the standard 50ppd its actually really good looking. Im running a 4090. 2) If I look hard I can see SDE BUT... it might also be mura the two can be hard to tell apart as PPD increases. Sometimes It finds me by accident depending on the sky and lighting conditions but most of the time I have to look for it or I forget about it directly... I find it easy to ignore 3) I have no focus issues with or without the built in quadviews and ET. both left and right eyes are clear and the combined image (both eyes open) is clear text is clear 4) CA is limited in my case and non factor 5) nothing note worthy 6) I can see some warping if I really try but over all the profile is excellent 7) none to very low sometimes I fight with getting the headset in the sweetspot 8: Yes the outer 30% is degraded but I would not call it very blurry its not "excellent" thats for sure 9: eyetracking is absolutely excellent 0 issues calibrated once and its been spot on its very robust to changes in fit and eye relief. optically this sounds broken to me. High CA and blurry vision in one or both lens sounds like perhaps it got hammered in shipping knocking a lens out of alignment so light is no longer focused in on eye vs the other.. This would explain the blur and CA. 100% return it right now. You likley aren't going to fix this with software. I had the VR1 and had a similar experience as you are describing after getting the 50ppd super im like 90% sure the VR1 was broken (no way they all suck that bad) and I was proper ****** with no way to return it. I did get some money back for it on ebay so my lesson was never buy another VR system with no return policy. DO NOT miss the boat on this return, you have that option 100% take advantage of it right now! make them send you another one (a different one no repairs on this) and let Calvin know he is very helpful!

Oh GPS dome was with LANTIRN not the PTID? it’s hard to tell since they kind of came in around the same time, and documentation is still…..meh. I thought the pod had a self contained GPS, but antenna wired to the roof is probably more reliable.

I didn’t expect the categories to be much trouble, I think the main thing with the categories is exactly what we saw above, being confused with the original FC3 categories. In which case, it’s simile a matter of time for people to get used to it, as well as the fact that by not having the frequency range to cover the EWR/AWACs categories of the original FC3 SPO. The newer/realistic categories also help you learn a lot about radars in general, getting pulse and CWI signals when a 3rd gen guides a fox 1. HPRF signals confused as CW signals at long range. As well as extra features, for example being able to tell if a F-15/16/18 is close or far away simply by seeing if you have a flashing X or an “F” symbol. Other inaccuracies are similar, for example the elevation lights will only trigger at short/medium range, but that also tells you something about the contact. You have a flashing light that estimates missile range from SAMs, and if aircraft are confused as SAMs ( the aforementioned case of flashing X) you also get an estimated missile range. It won’t always be correct, but with some practice you can begin to learn how dangerously close you are by checking category, signal strength, and where the flashing signal strength bar is. For example with F-15/18, the flashing bar is around 45-50 km, which is close to a long range sparrow shot. Both will show F category with. 20-25 km, giving you an indication of “I should either be in attack position or running.” The signal strength bar amount is now exponential compared to linear, but again with practice you will soon realize what is danger close. Things I would consider significant weakness compared to FC3 is that it shows you being in the notch in an unconventional way (50 and 90 light together) and only at WVR ranges. You could make the argument however that teaches better and more realistic habits of using EWR for your notch angle, as well as telling you if you get these 50/90 lights together, the enemy is danger close. Once you get the hang of it, I feel the only true weakness becomes not showing launch and not working with radar. Of course YMMV, but I would implore that it even took us time to fully understand original SPO-15, and understanding this one may take longer but be more rewarding and often give you more information the original that only showed “P” and one light for every fighter at every range. -
The Project 22160 Patrol Ship in game has a maximum engagement range of ~ 6km The vessel in reality is armed with the AK-176 76mm Naval gun which according to a variety of sources has an effective range of 10km and a maximum ballistic range of 15km - 17km No sources cite 6km, some cite significantly greater range than 15km for the AK-176M fitted to the vessels in game.

Hey man, thanks for getting back. Nice to know im not the only one. Did they offer to send the standard 50ppd or did you ask them for it? How long they say it will take? Did they let you keep the original in the meantime or you gotta send it back before? They haven't responded to me in 2 days. Hows the mura in yours btw? Is the grid very visible or is it ok?

I do agree with this, options should be there. However... Please riddle me why you are surprised? It was not like you weren't warned at all. I made a comment about this many moons ago, regarding that many users would be absolutely shocked with the differences and workload compared to the FC version. There's a reason DCS aims for FF, not? Funny you mention MP, which is kinda small compared to SP, even so I'm rooting for options for you guys!
