  1. Past hour
  2. Fascinating stuff, thanks for sharing!
  3. Amen! DCS needs consistency... and i'm not even a PvP guy.
  4. Could be interesting, but would require the whole EW side of things in DCS to at least have a simple modeling that is reasonably consistent throughout the world. Not even talking about the whole multiplayer balance thoughts that I understand many people don't care about, but in any scenario such a concept would be wildly disappointing if it was only effective for a select few targets and others were completely immune.
  5. I agree. The antenna vertical angle component shown on your Hud is what is in relation to your aircraft currently. For example if your nose down from your target, but at the same altitude the diamond will be shown at level with your crosshairs, even though the gimbal for the antenna should be pointing up, since your nose down from it, and thus be above your crosshairs Mig29 vertical anttena bug.trk just submitted a track file for it on my comment above
  6. It's a bit sad, that an aircraft that is known for having the most outrageously fabulous liveries comes with such a bland selection in DCS...
  7. The western-made clusters aren't really much better in being consistent in their performance. The sole exception are the 'smart sub-munition' ones (like CBU-97) that have always been deadly. A BLG-66 or a Mk20 are just in the same boat as the RBK-250.
  8. почему, когда нажимаю вызов меню Петровича, чтобы указать зону поиска, вспплывает меню режимов ЛТЦ?
  9. Setup A2G, GM, CCRP, TGP, CZ on STP that is in general location of AO. Slew GM to near (BUT NOT ON) Target (SA-15 at Wujah in this example) by using HSD to eyeball the area as ref for GM Cursor indicator. Note TGP is aligned to GM SOI and also shows location of GM cursor over "general terrain/water" TMS UP on GM SOI to lock this position over "general terrain/water". NOTE: GM shows proper location locked over "general terrain/water". ERROR: HSD GM cursor indicator now has "JUMPED" over to the SA-15 instead of where the GM is actually locked! ERROR: TGP shows the SA-15 centered in crosshairs (matching the HSD position) and NOT where the GM is actually locked! Screenshots are Named for the Above Step they relate to (1.png, 2.png, etc)... Screenshots, Track, and Miz Attached. LastMissionTrack.trk Test_GM_TGP_Offset.miz I dont know why it kept showing the LAST screenshot first.. so I removed from main post and have it here so they are in "order"....
  10. If the radar illuminates longer its receiving period also becomes longer. I'd say that average power would stay the same for any possible situation. And there is no sustained power, it's not an aircraft engine, you know. It illuminates at 100% power and then kinda stops working to receive and process. So, if peak power is 2kWt has Length of T and it takes 3T between the peaks the average power would be 2/4 = 500 Watt Well, people managed to learn the F-16/18 so they'll probably make it through a less complicated aircraft

  14. Hello, Since ED is currently prototyping new ATC and presumably other AI interactions, I hope I can provide some useful suggestions. I'm very critical of LLM "AI," but for video games - especially dynamic and immersive simulation environments like DCS - the technology is, in my opinion, extremely useful. To my surprise, the technology has now reached a point where it is also technically viable for a product like DCS, with very lightweight and fast models that can run locally on client machines, thereby solving a lot of economic obstacles. Also, most of these models are open source and relatively easy to implement. The cornerstone would be TTS/STT on the local machine, meaning speech generation and natural speech processing from the player (through a microphone). Models are now fast enough to run alongside DCS without significantly impacting performance. However, minimum system requirements would increase, as at least 2 CPU cores and a few GB of RAM would need to be dedicated to this task. This approach would not allow free-flowing conversations with the AI. The logic would still be scripted. A full LLM capable of handling open-ended conversation with the player would require a high-end workstation PC if run alongside DCS. However, models are becoming more efficient and average player PCs are becoming more powerful. ED should therefore anticipate the feasibility of locally running LLMs to handle the entire stack. In the meantime, ED could create an API for external LLMs to hook into their system, either to completely take over the logic or to augment the scripted logic with some flair and "personality." Such an external LLM could be cloud-hosted (e.g., using the user's paid account with providers like OpenAI) or locally hosted, either on the player's machine or on a dedicated PC on the network. Such a system would be fully multiplayer-compatible, since all communication with the AI is exchanged as text, while TTS and STT are handled locally on each client. If a larger LLM is desired for more free-flowing conversation, it could be run either on the server or in the cloud, with the server API managing the interaction between the game and the LLM. Thanks for reading.
  15. Anyone ever tried to replace one of the trees by a Palm Tree? Is possible?
  16. Hi guys, I was watching this excellent video how sneak up on enemy aircraft But what if the enemy aircraft is really up high, perhaps at 20 000 - 30 000 feet, how do I force them down below 15 000 feet? Or how can I sneak up on a enemy aircraft operating at high altitude without being detected on his radar?
  17. Hi all, I have lately been trying to setup my PSvr2 for DCS. After watching tons of video's and post and trying config after config i am still not 100% happy. Some vids/posts give me good fps but poor quality and vice versa.-------------------------- My system specs: 4070 msi 17-14700 KF 64 GB Ram 6000 MT/s I have added my current settings. It looks oke, get around 60/70 FPS in MP. I get freezes when i up the resolution per eye. My question to this: The psvr2 has a resolution of Full native 2000x2040 But google says 3400 x 3468 because the system up's it with 1.7 sampl. If i put it higher than this would it give me better quality? Please let me know what you would change or what your settings are. The more info we have for everyone the easier it gets.
  18. Да всем.
  20. Compared the runway headings for Hamburg, Pferdsfeld and Frankfurt and all all of by +10°. For example in DCS Hamburg is 342° in DCS and in real world it is 332° (Checked with Google Earth.) See also that the coordinates are ok, only the bearing is wrong. Is in Ugra's map the pole on the wrong position?
  21. Why not? I’ve read some accounts of the Falkland war and by all accounts it got pretty close to this with special forces sabotaging parked airplanes. I was reading a Combined Arms thread that mentioned Operation Flashpoint (Arma’s grandaddy) as an aspirational goal for CA. That game was clunky even for its time, but man was it fantastic! The singular feature that made it great is that cars, bicycles, tanks, helicopters, airplanes, mortars, artillery…everything…was available to the individual and groups of players for crewed vehicles or weapons. When you played a session online with a buddy being a forward observer while you and your other buddy lob mortars or artillery into the others online guys who are crewing a tank 2 miles away…the sense of accomplishment was great when you finally nail them. OFP didn’t need to simulate anything perfectly, good enough was perfect. Same thing with DCS, except DCS has the best aircraft simulation out there, and maps are probably good enough. If they cleaned up combined arms a little bit, you have really unlimited potential. They could even create a few OFP/Arma scale maps that are more geared towards infantry/helis/armor and CAS with enterable/destroyable buildings, and now we have a brand new sandbox to play in. Imagine somebody taking care of GCI and scrambling mig29 to counter inbound F4s or Tomcats looking to screw with an operation already in progress. The one type of situation that really got the blood pumping in OFP was flying a half dozen infantry players to an AO 20 minutes away. If you screw that up as a pilot and get everybody killed, you’re gonna have some pissed teammates! Now imagine the same in a Chinook on DCS! …Now imagine Eagle Dynamics hiring more developers for Combined Arms to steal Arma’s lunch money. …Now imagine FPS gamers coming to DCS to play CA in droves, because they know they have access to a bunch airplane geeks like us to fly close air support, transport, or logistics! The sky is the limit!!!! Walking around the airplane might seem like a gimmick, but it’s the seed of something much bigger. After all, all of our games our nothing more than a bunch of gimmicks creatively stitched together to entertain. I guess I just convinced myself to finally buy Combined Arms
  22. I have not seen this, I will try to reproduce. Can you send me the track or mission where you see this? Do you by chance have it selected as installed in the mission as well?
