  2. Affirmative. Flight with instructor is almost impassable due to lack of synchronisation.

I believe that the decline in DCS's quality is quite obvious, and the reason why ED can't prioritize fixing what's wrong is equally obvious: they must sell new stuff, they have no time to finish stuff that they sold yesterday. ED have actively decided against a steady-revenue-stream model (a.k.a. "subscription"). That (a subscription model) could allow ED to fix many of their current shortcomings, and - yes - it would alienate many of their existing customers. TBH, ED offends those anyway with their current neglect. And that is of little consequence, because existing customers are only relevant for a company to keep happy should these customers subscribe. We currently don't, and aren't kept happy. Because we don't matter. IMHO DCS' quality is in freefall for all but the cash cows. ED seem to have adopted the "Kodak strategy": "we've been successful for so long, so we must know what we are doing". Then, Digital Photography killed Kodak. Let's not forget, Steve Sasson, a Kodak Engineer, invented the digital camera. So Kodak was uniquely positioned to grow BIG. They thought they knew better. Kodak went bankrupt in 2012, after more than 120 years of phenomenal success. Kodak's Ektachrome is *still* the best film I ever used. That didn't save them. DCS is still one of the best FS around. I don't think that alone will save ED. DCS must also become a good *game*. ED know how to make a good FS. IMHO, they have no idea how to create a good, engaging game. Look at their content, content creation tools, look at how they engage with us, their *fans*. "Bleak" is what comes to my mind. So, subscriptions to help finance fixing the core, and re-tooling DCS to become engaging: now that's a monumentally tall order. Low product quality and lack of engagement are the main reasons that I'm withdrawing from contributing to DCS. It pains me to witness DCS' current state, and I hope that I'm not watching a re-run of "The Kodak Story", the story about a great company unable to change. Change is hard. Hopefully not too hard for the developers of my favourite FS.

  7. Thanks @-=Bagel=-. We literally just submitted updates to ED, but will make sure to address these ones with the next one. As for the KC-135, yes, it is operating elsewhere as it should be possible to complete this mission without refueling - and have the carrier's recovery tanker as backup. Enjoy and Ram On!
  8. i feel this is a simulation main thread performance issue with this module; its damage model and collision logic seems to be running wild for nearby objects (non-static map objects); introducing frametime cpu bottlenecks. My GPU is not stressed at all during these spikes, however the main thread pool is. The log file is littered with thousands of damage model info messages. F4U’s FM/damage? model seems to scale badly when nearby dynamic assets.
  9. They already have half the crew dedicated to the core so I don't see how a pay model would change things. Yes, they do and know better what works.

  14. Я думаю, сравнивать CP и DCS ещё немного рановато в любом аспекте. У Джейсона всё может поменяться и не раз. Но то что эффекты воды в DCS надо полностью переделывать, тем более что нас ждёт такой большой флот PTO, тут вы правы тысячу раз.
  15. Yes, but that list only works for already placed units. What Kang wishes is in the dropdown where you actually select which unit to place to have a distinction so you don't have to jump between two windows. I certainly support this.

  18. That's very fair. The best you can do is watch out for the hype videos leading up to it. I'd approach it with the same logic I approach Star Citizen; if it's good? I won't mind paying full price to guarantee that. Do you want to gamble $56 or spend the $80 on something you confidently know you'll enjoy.
  19. Large trim switches are poorly documented in what is publicly available. There's many more part numbers but very few appear in data sheets. Not that I know of. Realsimulator has an adapter with a whole paddle assembly, but I don't think it is compatible with the Thrustmaster grip - only the base.

  24. A few things I have allreay mentioned in other threads, but I like to share my view on this discussion. I think, the tasking part will allways be quite challenging in a DCS campaign, and it must be, because its DCS and not Ace Combat. Beginner friendly is a good thing and I realy think you nailed it in that way. The probability of getting shot down by a manpad or having to deal with limited missiles is a feature and not a bug in my opinion. Fuel? I am more likely to dump fuel before landing instead of refueling. Three tanks are loads of fuel! I would have loved custom voiceovers for every AI flight but the mixture is better than nothing. You´ve allready put a lot of effort in the voiceovers and I realy appreceate that. For me personally the campaign could have been way more realistic and hardcore, but I respect your descision and I do realy enjoy the campaign as it is! Since CW Germany was not available I´m with you about Kola to be the right choise. I like the map. And its very nice to fly campaigns which are not located in the gulf or syria. Those are great maps but I like the variety. All in all I like your campaign and have great fun. I will purchase the Huey campaign soon. Without people like you who do some serious hard work, DCS would be much less alive. Thank you for a great campaign and keep up the good work!
