  2. Regarding your preference for an earlier version of the Herc, I regret to inform you that if i had made such an aircraft, you would have been unable to operate it either a) without a full crew of humans b) within the next 5 years, as that's how long it would have taken me to implement a sufficiently advanced ai crew system to support you
  3. Do you know how to work on the model viewer? in it, you Can see were your textures are coming From.
  4. hello. are you having the same loss of control with your other modules? of course omitting the super carrier as the start of the aircraft. if so, then i suspect a controller issue. it would be odd that more than one controller fails. that said, there is likely another issue. are the controllers connected to a powered hub? now another idea is that the controllers are disconnecting when DCS is running. you should "disable hot plug" in DCS options. can you share your latest DCS.LOG for examination?
  5. 15, 16, and 18. I like my high-tech toys.
  6. I had the same issue. A workaround is to press ESC go to controls and than back into the game. Afterwards you can switch the seats. Until know I wasn't able to reproduce it. It's to spurious.
  7. nullUS "Have drill" program. Silver or camo sporting the stars and stripes.
  8. Maybe voice attack activates the radio command not the actual command and the briefing says you need to use the latter.
  9. OK after troubleshooting, it looks like the trigger won't accept the voiceattack "salute" command (though it correctly triggers the ground crew). You have to use the 's' key (which I have bound to salute), and this will progress the trigger.
  10. While interesting topic, it doesn't really matter. Unless you can convince Eagle Dynamics to spend hours and $$$ updating the fidelity on a Flaming Cliffs level module, that's intended to have simplifications and some inaccuracies with the real counterpart.
  11. This is not entirely true what you write. In the 1980s, camouflage was already used on the LiM-15/MiG-17F in the Polish Air Force (generally, in those years there were few Lim-5s because they were replaced by newer versions) but those MiG-17Fs that were still in service were repainted. There is no fiction here. This photo is from 1984. Bare metal also existed, but it appeared rarely, eventually being replaced by later versions of the LiM, the pinnacle of which was the LiM-6bis. I also have no idea what radar you're talking about? The MiG-17F didn't have the A2A radar, only the PF version. 1985: btw. Maybe you don't know... (looks like Mars-2 launchers) : This is the Lim-6bis model that I made about 3-4 years ago:
  12. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Ernsthaft?
  14. @BIGNEWY Here's another recent server crash, same trace. dcs.log-20250901-191331.zip
  15. This is a bold assumption. Unless you are in a relatively narrow band below supercharger critical altitude and won't pull back the RPM too much, the engine will not be able to produce the same manifold pressure at lower RPM. The superchargers are gear driven and directly linked to engine speed. A small drop in RPM is a relatively large drop in boost. For example R-2800-8 from F4U-1 is rated at 2000 BHP at 2700 RPM, but only 1675 BHP at 2550 RPM. Also, just because you have the same manifold pressure at lower RPM does not mean the engine is producing the same power. On the contrary. Otherwise, it would make no sense to spin it faster. I don't have a full power table for R-2800, so here's something more meager from Lycoming. Same principles apply. Reducing RPM is a great way to reduce engine stress, wear and improve fuel economy. But not a great way to squeeze more performance out of the aircraft. The story about flying a Beech 18, while cool, has little to do with this discussion topic.
  16. Strangely, I'm looking for a way to decrease the font size, but specifically the labels when in VR. They are too big for close objects. Any ideas? Thanks
  18. Mission 10 (night CQ). Do the startup (autostart as I'm lazy and hate cold starts - don't judge, I do them for a living), once alignment complete, Chig says "are you ready?". Nothing after this - no response from Slick, no checklists, no radio calls. Tried hitting space to see if there was user input required, still nothing. Trying to progress, using salute command takes me to Cat 1 (not Cat 3). Launch, standard SC comms but no mission comms. I've stopped there everytime as I don't want to waste time on a mission that isn't going to progress.... It seems the mission is stalling at "Are you ready?" PS - briefing says to set the front radio to Lion Tac (button 13), but when I do that, I stop hearing all the radio chatter.

  20. 12600K is what jumped out here as the 14th gen CPU's did have a VERY rocky start. It's over now and the voltages are under control so it's now degrading just as normally as any other CPU. Ran a Cinebench test to see if it is scoring lower than it used to and so far it's holding steady. Score remains unchanged from one BIOS to the other. I checked HAGS and all the other recommendations, all good. Shader cache doesn't seem to help unless you leave it on Driver Default. Curious to see what others on a 14900K are experiencing.
  21. Sure? Doesn’t mean R-77 can’t work fine with R-27. It still describes a very similar datalink situation to R-27 that N-001 or N-019 were designed to send while in STT for up to two missiles. I don’t see a reason for J-11A, Su-30MKK/MK2 to be incompatible with using R-77 in STT. It has the ability to send the needed commands the missile is described to require (Cartesian coordinates and target size).
  22. I also have HAGS and Game Mode enabled, and I’m running the latest Nvidia drivers. The results I’m seeing are very similar to the ones I posted earlier, consistent across the last five driver versions. I normally fly in VR, but for these measurements I tested without VR enabled. My CPU cores are unparked as well, otherwise the usual warning would show up in the logs. From what I can tell, the issue is definitely CPU-related, I know there are a lot of factors, but it's clear that there are several users with the same behavior I described and I thought it could give some hints to what's going on here with this issue. If anyone else is seeing the same behavior, it would be helpful if you could share your load times with HT enabled vs. disabled.
  23. Other than GR I can't find anything on youtube for tutorials for SU-27/J-11. Does anyone have any good links? I found one decent looking playlist, but it's in Spanish. I guess I could use auto-translate subtitles, but I'm surprised a module this popular has almost no learning videos?
  24. And, in the end, it worked. After much testing this afternoon/ evening, the solution was to disable G-Sync completely, as simple as that. Even so, I still have to do some testing, because when I open the map (F10) in the Kola scenario, as an example, it freezes for 20 seconds aprox., but after a while, everything works correctly again. One step has been taken, but now I have to get all the peripherals and consoles working, one by one, until they all work together as before. Thank you very much for the help. In any case, in the corresponding section, I suggest to the administrators that, if possible, a tutorial could be created to configure DCS from scratch, with Windows settings, with adjustments in the simulator settings, etc. It's very negative that in the end we'll spend more time configuring the equipment than actually flying. I'm aware that there are 1,000,000 different computers due to their components and OS versions, but I'm sure, a permanent post can be made with these things, updating them at the pace of the administrators or as needed. "Parking cores", "not running in administrator mode", "no game bar", "G-Sync stuff", "V-sync off", etc, etc., etc. A list of recommendations to ensure that installing DCS will not be unfriendly. When everything works fine, there's no problem. When you suddenly update and everything stops working, it drives you crazy. What I discovered today about G-Sync is just one of the 10 or 15 things I've had to change in the process. Thanks again!.
