  2. SATAC 25 Week 34 – Finals The wait is over. The duels, the eliminations, the comebacks, every contrail and every splash has led to this moment. History is about to be written in the DCS skies. **SATAC 25 made its mark as the largest DCS competitive event ever, with a record-breaking40 squads from across the globe answering the call. From the first lock On in February to the final merge in August, this has been a true marathon of air combat, the kind of event that defines the DCS community. For months, pilots have endured the crucible of the Group Stage and the unforgiving clashes of the Final Stage. Every kill, every landing, every decision has carried the weight of championship destiny. Now, only two squads remain. Their journey through the SATAC 25 has earned them the right to stand at the very edge of glory. Saturday, August 20th – The Grand Finale At 1400z, the relentless @inSky (China) face the legendary @104th Phoenix (International) in the duel for 1st Place. Both squads have proven they belong at the very top, but only one will leave as the SATAC 25 Champion. At 1800z, the surprising @Gryphon face the unyielding @Eclipse Task Force (International) for 3rd Place. While the ultimate crown is just out of reach, pride, honor, and reputation remain on the line. Expect a clash worthy of the SATAC stage. Pilot of the Week 33 – 45th Savior Savior earns this week’s honors with nerves of steel—securing a decisive guns kill that turned the tide of battle. A reminder that even in the age of missiles, the cannon still wins wars. A Historic SATAC Finals on the Orbx Kola Map For the first time ever, SATAC final will unfold on the breathtaking KOLA-MAP by Orbx. Its towering fjords and rugged coastlines will shape the fight, offering both cover and flatlands. More than scenery, the KOLA-MAP is now in the hands of the finest pilots DCS has to offer! SATAC 25 is more than a Championship. It is the summit of competitive DCS air combat, the crucible where 40 squads came to prove themselves. From veterans like the 51st, 104th and TAW rising challengers across every continent, this championship has been a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and the shared love of flight. Sponsors Huge thanks to our SATAC streamers, mission creators and admins. And to our amazing sponsors: Eagle Dynamics, Heatblur, Magnitude 3, Razbam, DEKA, Aerges, Tacview, LotATC, VKB, Masterarm Servers, and Orbx! Thank you for keeping the DCS greatest air to air championship airborne. SATAC don't build character – it reveals it!
  3. Кстати, прямо на этом форуме. Ещё написал Дэйву "BIO" Баранеку. Может, он ответит, если захочет. Но это не факт.
  4. Figured it out, the problem was in the user folder name, it was in Cyrillic... Renamed it to Latin, everything worked!
  6. The doubts still remain: with DCS DTC, as the name, you can import a Flight plan created outside the DCS mission editor using www.combinedops.org (i'm an italian flying group member) but the best is creating a .json file containing all frequencies you need and a lot of other elements. Through the main executable program we can load in less than minute a great amount of data inside the onboard computer. DCS DTC is used with VR too, of course, i use the VR, but i think a solution to make DCS2TARGET working with this, necessary (no Waypoint, no Tacan), program can be find. DCS2TARGET is really fantastic, simple and effective, i'll continue to look for a way.
  7. DCS isn't even the most annoying thing I run into; I run 2.5d (not VR) and get ~149 FPS most of the time. If that's not enough it's time to check your entitlements! It's those other guys where I get 55 FPS despite a 5090 drawing enough power to run the helium liquification plant at Fermi. I haven't dug into the hardware enough to figure that out, or decided if I even care enough to do anything about it. The overall upshot being it's not time for an upgrade yet, which is good given I built this nine months ago. My last machine lasted five years before I decided to get a performance boost, and honestly all I really needed was a new video card. OCD kicking in again.
  8. You have the answer: "Maybe. Not soon". In this case, ED cannot be ignored, because despite the sincere intentions of many developers, everything depends on implementing this in the DCS engine, which requires involvement on the ED side. This especially applies to weapons but let us be optimistic about the future. Personally, it's a cool idea, but its not a priority for me. I'd prefer to have paratroopers and vehicle transport capabilities first, with the Rapid Dragon System somewhere at the end of development if there will be the time and desire.
  9. I don't use a computer mouse. I use oculus quest controllers that allow interactive interaction with levers and toggle switches in the cockpit. In all other helicopters, both the longitudinal-transverse control knob and the general pitch control lever are available, and in the ka-50 module, the pitch control lever is currently unavailable, although it could previously be controlled in VR mode. This is a problem that needs to be fixed.
  10. Repaint of the F-86 Cockpit This model, which was very well made in its time, is already quite old, and I believe it deserves a modernization. I have carried out the repaint based on the black cockpit scheme, as I had complete photographic references of this version and, in this way, it also allows the option of flying both variants. All labels and legends have been recreated according to the available real-world information, while keeping in mind the limitations of integrating them into an already existing model. Repaint of the F-86 Sabre Jet Cockpit What has been achieved: -Application of a black base coat on the cockpit model. -Addition of metal wear effects, scratches, and layers of dust and dirt to enhance realism. -Implementation of roughmet layers, allowing for highlights and reflections that vary depending on the material of each surface. Limitations encountered: -The original model does not include bump maps in its files, which makes it impossible to simulate surface roughness and fine reliefs through the shader. Despite this, every effort has been made to achieve a convincing result. -The instrument lights could not be altered, as they are not texture-dependent but rather determined by the way the models were originally exported. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/es/files/3346544/

  11. Я бы не стал так категорично кидаться обвинениями. В этом конфликте две стороны. И нельзя сказать что Г-н Грей агнец. Скорее наоборот.
  12. Add IJA/IJN/Imperial Japan Transport fleet to the list.
  13. That depends a little bit on the exact circumstances and if the current CPU is in fact a bottleneck for the desired scenario and framerate. Generally speaking and looking at the edge cases, a X3D(*) CPU is certainly more optimal for DCS than any current Intel. That doesn’t mean that a 14K is a slouch. Upgrading between those two is certainly not a BIG step in most scenarios. I wouldn’t make this step unless there is another reason that the Intel has to go (like a defect e.g.). (* actually the 9950 isn’t the most optimal for DCS though, the single die X3Ds (9800\7800\5800) are slightly superior due to the absence of any inter-die problems. But of course DCS isn’t the only use case)
  14. Would love to have something oriented for the Mi-24, with fuel and loadout management, DISS 15 navigation info, true and mag heading to waypoints, distance, ... I have an excel template sheet I'm using to do it manually. I can share it to give an overall idea
  15. Thanks!
  16. Yep, I completely stopped buying third party until a resolution is arrived at.
  17. Is possible achieve 100 score in this mission? Kill the IRGC infantry without loss is quite tricky as the need to respect the JTAC heading slow the engagement process, and the F.-5s, well this is a my natural deficency in the A/A enviroment...
  18. Honestly I’ve never heard of it. I actually exclusively fly in VR, so I don’t see the lights on the Viper. I wrote DCS2Target for fun and interest as there was nothing else available.
  19. With all due respect to wags, I’m more interested in what the developer says. They have better idea of where they want to take the module in the future.
  20. That would be a false impression. I got the feeling it's not enough of an upgrade to go through the brain damage of getting my sim machine apart, playing musical parts with two different computers, running my powershell scripts to re-set all the controls, etc etc. That doesn't mean I'm not going through the brain damage, just not in the near future and I might wait for the next gen CPUs. I consciously went i9-14 rather than -ultra just because of the gaming reviews. I don't think that's going to fix the stutters. I keep putting off Windows 11 because they've turned harvesting personal data into an art form and I don't have a ready tool to fix that in the registry, but the information here about tweaking it for games has been awesome. Also noodling a PiMaxSuperDuperDeluxeUraniumEdition whatever the latest VR is later this year, so this entire area is priceless. Lots of great information.
  21. Yea It was purely for when you have an hour's downtime thought it might interest you, some great shots. Our greatest generation bar none, its when you hear the combat losses at the end, some groups think I heard 9 of 18 returning etc for one mission, then to go and do it all again the day after. B17's that's 90 men, one sortie, one group.
  22. Today
  23. That's precisely the point I'm trying to make: games are not "full load". Rendering videos, running multicore benchmarks...those load all your cores, and generate max heat. Games shouldn't be generating that much heat at all (hence why I went with an air cooler). So if your CPU is throttling when playing games (DCS does need more CPU than other games), then obviously it's an issue with your thermals, whether it's a defect in your CPU/cooler or improper install is what needs to be diagnosed. I know, what I meant to say was your thread gave Raisuli the (false) impression that 14900k to 9950x3D is a downgrade
  24. Also it’s not “tinted” so much as a surface in the laminations of the glass is a selective reflector of the wavelength of light the HUD CRT emits. So it cuts that green looking through it. And reflects that green hitting it from any white light source. At night it’s dim enough that red light reflects off the normal glass good enough. So bonus you get a red hud at night.
  25. So we're back to my earlier message. That won't really work for MP servers, which in turn don't seem to enable it, so everybody loses.
