Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
OmasRachE replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
What pressure. After -Rudel- mentioned that they have a look, I did not put any pressure but his first reactions indicated, that they did not consider this a bug at all. So waiting for nothing to happen won´t solve my problem. And unfortunately I will have to have fun with other birds. Sad but hey, my hangar is quite big. -
I 100% get that it isn't realistic BUT it's already been done for a few other aircraft regardless of their realism. It's really only for convenience because I can never get it back to default trim after I've used it. I have about 11 aircraft but the one listed below are the only ones that have a trim reset. A-10C II - "Trim: Reset" AH-64D - "Trim - RESET to default" P-51 - "Trimmers Reset" TF-47 - "Trimmers Reset"

Great idea! However, I don't know how to look up those values with lua at the moment. If you can provide that info I can try to integrate it. Also, I'm a big fan and advocate for pilots conducting instrument scans properly, especially in this warbird. I think moving some of the data from the instrument panel to the upper corner will teach bad habits, and might be a "cheat" for the mission you want to make which includes scoring. You might end up climbing quickly, but what good is the pilot if they never had to look at the instruments and handle the aircraft properly the first time? Just my 2 cents. Cheers.

Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.

Lucky you - at least you're getting some communication. I placed my order in April, but changed it to Ultrawide, which means no way I'm getting it before the end of this year... *sigh* -

I do agree with you. What I wanted to say is: Try to have fun with bird and don`t stop putting some pressure on M3. We need bug fixesas soon as possible. I will post a video of how I manage to turn and getting to the runway by using my keyboard. -

Thanks, really nice for using when exploring the aircraft limits. I'm currently on the first stages of editing a training mission for Engine management, using a Climb to 25,000 feet as a fixed situation to be able to monitor it using triggers. My purpose is to learn the proper use of all controls: Super Charger, cooling flaps, throttle, mixture, with the mission reminding me of operating the blower properly as we climb, learn to keep an eye on temps, etc. To give a worthwhile mission objective and add a sens of urgency, I intend to record the time it takes to get to 25,000, the less time the higher the score because of this, I wonder if you could add to the script some engine management parameters, like cyl temp, oil temp, etc ... it would help me a lot while I develop my mission, as reading the gauges while flying makes me kind of lose focus on my aircraft handling best regards, Eduardo

My understanding is the pylons were never removed from the -1D and -4 even when not in use. They were just fit with an aerodynamic cap over the rack mounts. With that being their "default" state I would think that's how Vought or the Navy would run their evaluations, especially if they were pulling aircraft at random.
-
I would go by the kneeboard chart for right now, because the POH will just break your engine.
-
Here you go guys. A quick SP air start with a script I made to view real time fuel burn, fuel efficiency, airspeed and more. Spoiler alert: It is actually pretty close to the published charts. Also FYI, the image below is just a cover image. Diagnostics in the mission are not as pretty. It's just the standard text overlay you are used to seeing. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3346516/

Long start times from desktop to main menu
BIGNEWY replied to Simicro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Long load time issue has nothing to do with hyperthreading, for sure some CPU's work better without it, especially ones with E cores. But disabling hyperthreading on one system may not be correct for another. As mentioned we have a fix coming for the long load times. thank you -

I was simply trying to help you figure the steps out, not hand you the answer on a silver platter. If I ever spend the time to have one, I’ll be in touch.

Long start times from desktop to main menu
Akula replied to Simicro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I don’t think so….. I currently have hyperthreading disabled again and DCS runs incredibly well. fast load times, preload radius loads very quickly vs seeing a slow transition of water to ground terrain then buildings and so on. To be fair I will add that I did change my memory clock from 5400 to 5600 using “memory try it” in my BIOS. I suck at manually tweaking my memory so I had to use MSI’s feature. That little adjustment sped up my load times, BUT - if I re-enable hyperthreading it basically kills any hope of flying without some sort of lock up. I really do think that there is an issue here and I hope ED really does take another look at hyperthread support because it is like night and day when it’s disabled vs enabled. In all my experiences hyperthread enabled ruins the game vs hyperthread disabled fixes every long load and stuttering issue. I will do a little research into tweaking my memory manually and see if it’s a memory issue conflicting with the CPU but it doubt it’s a factor since I never had to do anything like this after the update that was released almost a year ago that directly addressed full and hyperthread support. That update was amazing. Since then it has been touch and go with hyperthread support. one update fixes it and another ruins it and so on. Curious to know how others are doing with this. -
I get your point. But there are whole world civil sims that work without streaming with only moderate disk space needed. And until DCS gets it released, maybe 1 Terrabyte SSD for that whole world isn't quite as much as it sounds today? I like the spherical aspect of the project. On a flat earth, aircraft never disappear behind the horizon.

I've been doing the VR thing for a few years now... I've had the Reverb G2, the Quest 2, the Quest 3, and the original Pimax Crystal. Today I continue to use the Quest 3, as I think it offers the best balance between visuals, ease of use, reliability, and comfort. Is there anything new or noteworthy in the headset world? Any others I should try that offer a better experience than the Q3?

Sorry but you are incorrect. Thanks for the log, we have a fix coming in the next patch for people experiencing longer load times, it should help. -
The problem is, to make it feel like a real JA 37, not just a grey Viggen 3d-model with a generic cockpit, you will need to use accurate HUD-, radar and TI-symbology, in a correct way. While a lot can be inferred from publicised photos and media, to make it right would probably require access to the user manuals (SFI), which are still, to my knowledge) classified. That precludes the creation of even a FC Viggen. Also, I think a too simplified JA 37 would lose some of the stuff that makes the JA 37 interesting, like the autopilot assisted gun mode.

The helicopter displays the ETE as "hour and tenths of hour" but the correct unit would be Minutes and tenths of minute. Here is one screenshot. One with a WP at 9 NM and with an indicated airspeed of 88 knots. The time to fly there would be around 6 minutes at this speed however the indicator shows ETE 0.1 while it should show ETE 6.0 more or less Could you please fix this. This feature it is actually quite useful for precise navigation, accurate TOT and for coordination with other aircraft while the actual indication of "hour and tenths of hour" is not useful at all. Thanks
