  1. Past hour
  2. The really funny thing is that if you did similar and stuck to an old build of DCS you might be able to still fly the Hawk and you quite probably will be able to still fly the Razbam modules if you forgo updates beyond 2.9.
  3. hello. your DCS.log is small but that is because you are not getting by the launcher. it does show you are opening DCS with a shortcut for BIN-MT. though this folder is essentially the same, you should try to open from the BIN folder. 2025-07-27 21:30:46.969 INFO APP (Main): Command line: "D:\DCS\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR another thing you can do is rename or make a backup of the options.lua, restart DCS. a new one will be created. also make sure you have the recent visual c++ 14.44.35211 installed. it came with last DCS update.
  4. Thank you very much, that worked.
  5. Truly impressive, great work. Can you post a video or do you have a YouTube channel?
  6. For drag coefficient function I’m quite confident it shouldn’t be something drastically different than presented. Not first configuration I calculated in old fashioned way This other issue is open…60 seconds or 120 seconds and are they changed principles (I hope they didn’t) to match cowboys in exaggerating with air-balls hitting one in hundreds case For now, at least to me, this is reality
  7. Sure. I’ll try and send it to you tonight, along with my OpenKneeboard settings. We also made one that was a grid, that we used to figure out how to shape the mask we used.
  8. To the coders and modders here: Anyone up for speculating whether you could have multiple versions of the DCS engine within the same file structure, and if so, what would be the tradeoffs? I ask because I know with my install most of the space is maps, so it would be a lot easier to carry multiple installs if I only had to have one instance of each map stored...
  9. That campaign uses different laser codes depending on who you are in the flight. The laser code you will be using is in the kneeboard and will need to be changed in the DED. id also recommend changing the lase time to 20 seconds so it starts lasing sooner to hopefully allow for drop errors.
  10. Yeah, the taxpayers did, and Mav nearly wrecked his trying to save Cougar! That's certainly news to me... but to go on the post of the guy you were replying to... yeah... we have a good hunch of what would be viable solutions to this mess, but to date, there isn't one beyond "let's hope they can work it out like adults". Failing that, and considering how popular those modules were, ED would either have to make replacements themselves or contract a 3rd party to make them. I doubt they'd let them sit and rot.
  11. You're either joking or not working in IT. @Dragon1-1 is totally correct. Not that many years ago there were quite a few jokes in the industry about NATO systems still running NT 4.0 with needed floppy disk support.
  12. Yeah that part is really nasty. But many of the people here own every module and use them all but don't want to miss a single one. And the guys in the Navy didn't have to pay for their F-14
  13. Go into F2 view and you'll see exact RPM and speed. I have it mapped for when I do tests like this that need exact values.
  14. VEAO Was 2, there were pre-orders taken for the P-40F
  15. I know that part sucks...but you get to learn a new aircraft. Think about the F-14 Pilots, when Navy got rid of them - they had to type trained on new craft like F-18 or F-35 (I am making assumptions here) Even in Top Gun movie - Maverick was flying F-14 and in part two he is rated for F-18. You know in FSX/P3D/MSFS world - developers will discard the same module from FSX and pay again for P3D and then pay again for MSFS (not naming devs here but it is quite common practice). FSX 32bit to P3D 32bit (up to V3.4) were quite compatible but at least on this sim you got years and years of mileage on some addons. For me this is quite crazy to see. I have spend more $$$ for same aircraft multiple times in FSX/P3D/Xplane10-12
  16. Sure they are, many XP machines are kept around for various reasons, usually off the internet (which was not a core feature back in the day). Because there's nothing that will magically stop XP from working just because it's 20 years old, nobody is banging on MS's door about it. What's more, most XP programs work on newer Windows versions, an approach explicitly taken by MS. If you have a program written on XP, it might not conform to modern best practices (not that modern devs always do so, some still can't get it in their heads that "My Documents" is not for putting game files into), but it'll most likely run on 11. If those cases were even remotely comparable, we'd still be able to fly the Hawk. The real thing that's hilarious in this thread is the sheer ignorance some people display.
  17. Only thing that has been a minor annoyance to me is that the JTAC ATHS (the system that transmits JTAC 9-lines to the CAS page) no longer functions (it once worked great).
  18. F1: you must dim the HUD with the three rheostats below to notice the issue, Aerges dev's already found a fix. JF: yup, fonts are a bit bolder if compared to older screenshots, tested in both 1920 and 2560 resolutions, but I don't know if screenshots where made with a mod.
  19. Great job both Ouky and Archangel. these HUD and MFD edits for the Viper are terrific. thank you.
  20. Ditto; even if it’s just a standard group of guys in the back.
  21. Devs said they won't do it, sorry.
  22. After rectifying the missing Viper cockpit textures using Nightstorms CFT Mod 3.14(thanks to hafdima) I'm afraid to say that since the last DCS "Sniper Pod" update my CFT Mod if used just crashes DCS to desktop, whether the Sniper pod is chosen at the arming screen or not. Therefore I've once again reached out to Nightstorm and asked him if he would kindly take a look at his awesome mod so us Viper pilots can once again use his awesome CFT Mod. If any of you DCS whizzes with lua's know of a work around then post it clearly on here as it would be much appreciated.
  23. It works fine. I was in the middle of a campaign myself before the carrier crash bug but it looks like they fixed that a couple hours ago
  25. Maybe it's not that entertaining anymore for you when one of the epic modules you mastered after years suddenly gets abandoned and might stop to work soon.
  26. Today
