  2. The legal gymnastics are hilarious on this thread. The entertainment value is gold. Software gets old and things happen and vendors change (disagreement/drama can happen). I mean is anyone using Windows XP these days (why aren't people banging MS's door for 20 yr operating system). Yeah, I had 3 or 4 of their planes but I never got to it as they didn't update regularly and for me that was a flag. Anyway, other epic modules work and DCS is one hell of an amazing simulation product especially in VR. Mastery of one aircraft just for simulation will take years for me.
  5. To be entirefly fair, the spotting in DCS is completely effed up and has always been. Just to add to this, my eyes are complete and utter bovine manure, but that doesn't help the fact that spotting a/c was always something I deemed impossible in DCS before they became that, and I'm merely bound to using some sort of assistance, frankly enough. But here is the catch: All assistance available to this day in DCS do, to quote Nick Grey (about the damage model in an interview a few years ago), "suck balls". Here's why: The labels make it instantly an arcade game. I don't wanna see aircraft types, ranges and whatnot, especially not colors of which side they pledged allegiance to. We can configure the labels, however. BUT: We can't use those configs in MP at all, even if the server doesn't enforce label settings at all, they're always either on with default settings or off (if actually set to off or "no preference, basically let client decide", probably because of measures to prevent players from abusing the system to cheat). Then and again we have the dot only setting. But still, not usable in MP and even in SP, they have one major PITA issue still to this very day which has been reported umpteen times in literal ages of DCS's existence: ANY kind of label, be it actual ones or just the dots, are a literal X-Ray cheat, simply because the engine completely fails at occluding them behind any cockpit structure. Given the fact, that the 3dmigoto mod made occlusion possible for at least a limited set of a/c (based on which modules lefuneste has access to), we clearly know it's possible to do so and it possibly might not even be that hard if a modder who basically doesn't even know manure about DCS's internals can do it. This, for a consumer perspective, especially regard barrier free usage, is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! Also, especially since DCS as of recently completely broke mod support without any official notice and won't load any mods inserted with JSGME, OvGME or even manually anymore at all, the ball is clearly at ED and only at ED to get this fixed once and for all! This has to be dealt with. ASAP!
  6. I'm not a great F16 expert and I recently purchased the Gambler campaign (no mods, integrity check done). The first mission uses a laser bomb, which I used yesterday without too much difficulty. Targets hit. Today, a new mission, still with GBU12, and I never hit the target: 2 bombs per mission, 4(!) missions attempted. The shot always misses the target. I've watched a lot of tutorials in case I'm getting rusty (I already finished First in Weasel a while ago), but now I'm starting to suspect there might be a bug. Thanks for the support. 7. Mmmm that's weird ain't it. You can find that little note on page 414 of the manual by the way. Oh and again on page 403. And some people are new to DCS and he didn't give too much info either. It could've really well have been that he was too far don't you think? Or are you just high and mighty and feel need to make a comment on everything and think you are right? And I've definitely fired the Litening pod laser well out of 8nm and gotten the L for range. I think the farthest I got was like 20nm or so cuz I would always lase the target before dropping GBU-38s. So no, in DCS they do not have the same range. And where did I say he was flying at an altitude of 50K? 8nm Slant range not freaking altitude dude dang. Like who refers to altitude in NM??? lmao Cool I must've missed it in all the nonsense ya'll are talking about. But he never specified which T soooooooo there is that. How am I confusing two things? We have a Sniper pod that is actually a sniper pod and not two pods mixed into one. So really the Sniper is the benchmark now, and there is no vice versa about it. Lantirn and Litening into one pod isn't a good comparison to make against a pod that is actually being simulated now. You literally can't compare the "Litening" on the F16 to the sniper because it isn't actually a litening. If it was it would be a Gen I or at best Gen II. But both Litening and Lantirn would have much worse clarity due to the constant need for contrast/brightness adjustments and the fact that the old Litening and especially the Lantirn are horrible at image recovery after a bright flash like that from an explosion, if you consider the year ED would be modelling. The current Litening on the F16 needs to be removed completely and never seen again. And I'm not talking other aircraft, just the F16. Do other aircraft sensors need to meet the standard as well, of course they do. But this thread is not about other aircraft at all. And the whole "We either choose one path – game mode, or realistic. not both in the same title." comment is literally what I am talking about. But you, for some reason, are trying to go another direction. You cannot deny the fact that there are people currently complaining about the two pods and wanting something done to the sniper to make it clearer like the litening. Which again in DCS are completely different altogether. The real-world litening Gen IV and the sniper are more comparable than the sniper and the lantirn are if they were compared together. The "problem" isn't really hard to fix. Just remove the current Litening on the F16 and problem solved.
  8. Resolution of cockpit displays does affect this, I had the same problem before I figured out.
  9. I've installed The Way before and it worked but have recently reinstalled DCS 2.9. Here is the export.lua code I'm trying to fix.. pcall(function() local dcsSr=require('lfs');dofile(dcsSr.writedir()..[[Mods\Services\DCS-SRS\Scripts\DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone.lua]]); end, nil); pcall(function() local TheWayLfs=require('lfs');dofile(TheWayLfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TheWay/TheWay.lua'); end) any help would be great The Way opens but after selecting point the error comes up 'cannot connect to DCS'
  10. Пуск…ракета пошла ! 15km altitude scenario, leveled flight, 3G reserve included, some theoretical top high starting velocity, starting weight 200kg. And ignition of second impulse right after first finish, in 25th second and in 45th second. Pictures show everything so no need to waste words. This exact, I think, rocket is described in one of the patents. There they mentioned that realistic thrust of second impulse could be 1000kg and weight of rocket, after both impulses are out, in level of 120kg. Based on the text, idea is to start second impulse in way that it finishes couple seconds before rocket reaches programmed point of impact in target. And…NO, this rocket doesn’t reach distances 100, 150, 200km as internet already started to drop nonsenses
  11. Watch your side-slip indicator. If you don't retrim or counter with rudder input, any change in throttle position (or even just increases/decreases in airspeed) will cause the Corsair to slip left or right of center and one wing to grow heavier. So it's definitely modeled at all airspeeds.
  12. The crash related to HARMs should be fixed and another hotfix patch was released today (12899) that fixes another F-16 crash too. In ParkControl I edited the High Performance Windows power profile and changed the Parking to Off - 100% for Plugged In (AC). If you prefer using another power profile in Windows most of the time for energy saving, then you could just activate the High Perf power profile before you launch DCS.
  13. adding to this, I have observed two situations where the roadnet seems to break 1) when the road passes under a bridge/overpass, I have yet to find one that works and 2) random points usually on gradual curves where it just seems to break (picture attached).
  14. All planes are like this. Restricting the movement would become very nauseating once the movement in VR doesn’t match IRL. I like realism, so when I lean too far over by mistake, I simply come back a little. Never considered the side of it being used as a cheat in MP (I don’t really do any PVP) so I totally understand that now. Hopefully nothing changes, but if it does, I like the idea of a fade, kinda like a G blackout maybe? That would also help simulate your pilot blacking out from being afraid of heights
  15. Thank you for your response. I will do that next time. Christian
  16. I haven’t flown the DCS Corsair but I own and have flown all the others. None of them are anywhere near “realistic”. Every DCS Warbird has been dumbed down for the ‘sim’ community to some degree. It is a simple fact that any single engine prop aircraft requires changing control input with every power and/or speed change. It’s not easy or hard. It just is. DCS Warbirds are disappointing in this regard as it removes much of what made those aircraft challenging to fight in and sometimes deadly to inexperienced (and experienced) crew. Hopefully, Magnitude breaks away from this paradigm and creates a faithful model of the Corsair. I hope the latest FM changes are not bowing to pressure from those who believe engine torque only exists at or below stall speed.
  17. Hi Problem is solved. (Have a look at this topic in winwing) Icons were removed by DCS since the last update. Luckily I still had them in a backup and copied them to my actual installation. I have the same problem. and I don’t understand how you solved the problem. Best regards Christian
  18. Today
  19. @JG54_NF2
  20. Hi, what is the difference between this mod you shared and the other one on the topic?
  21. thank you, please remember we can only use publicly released documentation, if it is classified or restricted we wont be able to use it. and a PM is always best.
