IR Guided missiles ignoring flares or too sensitive
Dipirona4100 replied to Dipirona4100's topic in Weapon Bugs
The problem is not modern missiles, they have an IRCCM sensor that knows how to differentiate or try to mitigate aircraft flares, this is not implemented in DCS, but they try to simulate it by increasing the resistance of these missiles flares, which is not correct and far from being something close to reality, the real problem happens with older missiles, which do not have these same systems, these missiles for the most part just follow the target with greater heat, they cannot distinguish between a flare and an aircraft, making them easily fooled with one or two flares. An interesting point that the other guy mentioned was the case of the aim120, where it basically had no system to avoid a notch maneuver, they implemented an irccm system that temporarily suspends its seeker when a chaff is detected, when it is suspended it tries to maintain the course and route of the enemy aircraft that is being attacked, turning on the missile seeker after a while to try to reengage the target, the aim9m and modern variants basically have this same irccm system (but for flares), making them much more deadly in combat. If you want an example of this system working, try googling war thunder irccm missiles and strategies to dodging them, the modelled it really well -
I have to agree that the new pilot in the mirrors is goofy looking, and in VR at least, has angle and latency issues. Would be nice to be able to turn it off.

Wrecking Crew started following Clone a Mission Start Event Trigger Loses Focus
-
Clone a Mission Start Event Trigger Loses Focus When an Event Trigger is cloned, the display focus should stay on the cloned trigger. But, for a Mission Start Event, when it is cloned, it is not the focus of the cursor, instead the list of triggers is reset to the view of the first event. Please fix the cloning of a Mission Start trigger so the cursor focus stays with the newly cloned Mission Start trigger.

Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
GeoS72 replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
Gents, Raising the tail does not require additional wind on deck. Increasing throttle above 30 PSI of manifold pressure raises the tail off the ground. This is covered in one of the Training Missions for the Corsair. When the tail comes off the ground, you can release 1 brake pedal and the plane will pivot on the held brake. It is VERY precarious because you can easily nose over. I wish to reiterate: If you have to go full throttle, stand on 1 brake, and add rudder (rudder yields no result, btw) just to make a sharp turn in the Corsair, then something is flat-out wrong! -
harf4ng started following FFB issue with latest build?
-
Hi, Anybody else has an issue with FFB with the latest build? I use a rhino ffb base, and now the stick is way too smooth. And no way to harden it as I did before with a pot on the base. This is not a hardware issue, because before I launch DCS everything works fine, when i put spring force to 100% I can barely move the stick, but as soon as DCS is launched everything is way too soft again and changing spring changes nothing. Seems they changed something with FFB in latest build? Thanks

bephanten started following Formation Light
-
formation light works for my plane. but my wingman does not turn on external lights at night time. they go completely dark. is this a bug?
-
I just had a thought after my last post. In my training mission, my targets are quite close together. As the maverick locks on by contrast, perhaps I'm being a little unrealistic to expect it to lock onto the exact target according to the TGP. Even in AUTO I assume the maverick will still lock onto the highest contrast target in that particular area.

Radar detection trigger in mission editor
Aphrodite51503 replied to Black6's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Well something that I have found in the DCS main files Is that the harm missile is listed as much bigger than it actually is and that's the reason why it gets detected The harmless listed with a 245.0 mm diameter Which makes it about the same size a little bit bigger than a harpoon missile And the reality is that the harm missile is more the size of a M9 missile which is about 24.5 mm Since we can see there's typographical error and the harm missile profile in DCS world which makes it much bigger than it actually is Famous translation of the decimal point I don't have to pass the file on me right now I'm at work but I can get it later if you want it So just to make it understand in terms of radar propagation Because of their only being 24.5 mm instead of 245 mm it's a much smaller Target and a Target that size coming directly at a radar at that speed which is 3.2 Mach That missile is going to be picked up by the target radar regardless of what kind of radar it is- 24 replies

Thanks, that helps! I had been watching the cylinder head temps & not the oil temp. I still am surprised though that the cylinder temps fluctuate really rapidly, with what looks like over -cooling happening quickly, but I don't have a real Corsair in my garage to go test. I tried a takeoff with less manifold pressure & it went better too. It helps to have someone critique as I try to learn this. I still seem to tear off my hook many times when landing even when I remember to unlock the tailwheel.

reported Extreme oscillations in motion after shuttle hook-up
BrassEm replied to BrassEm's topic in Bugs and Problems
I've updated to 19.13478 and have not had the rig busters so far. I have only been testing on the George and the one Sinai map (not Iraq - my bad) for obvious reasons. Alignment doesn't appear to be the trigger. It doesn't get any better than Carrier Operations with extreme high fidelity, VR and full motion as only Eagle Dynamics can do. It is the ultimate pinnacle of flight simulation. And it is broken...
