  2. ...and not even remotely similar lighting conditions.
  3. Oh god dammit, the track is larger than 50MB so this forum won't let me upload it. Really, a 50MB limit? Did 2008 barricade itself inside ED headquarters and hold the file server hostage?
  4. This is the DCS-BIOS Lua Console that I've for my DCS, and runs fine on latest DCS, but I couldn't get it to work back when I had DCS on a custom path ... however it works fine now that I have DCS on its default path (at /Program Files): When I run it, its console says DCS-BIOS Version: v0.10.0+64, but the install package says v0.8.1.
  5. In VR the fps counter lies Enable VSync and see what it says
  6. In stock ME the answer is : probably not If you know LUA then YES; still fairly complicated depending how exactly you want to do this. (I will not) But I can very likely make it. (see my website for more info) You can check my GitHub there are some tools that might help you out or : hope this might be a start
  7. Hi community, struggling to successfully control heading switch with the heading knob on the Orion 2. It binds but fails incrementally increase or decrease. Visibly interacting with the heading switch but just going back and forth. Any help much appreciated.
  8. Hi All - reaching out for some help/advice if possible? I have recently created an airfield (using Blender) , and set up collision shells and lines. When I export it to EDM - then add it into a mission and position any other models on it - they show as sunken in Mission Editor. When I go to 'fly' - my aircraft is sat on top. If I position a static helo next to mine it is sunken. If I position a dynamic helo (set to start on ground) - it sits on the tarmac up until the point it starts up - at which point it drops into the tarmac. I have found a few threads asking the same but no resolution that I could see?
  9. Hi gents, I have started to learn the F-16C this month of August, and play mainly A-A PvP multiplayer. From this perspective (and not from solo mission and campaigns) I have made the following threat ranking assessment based on how many times I have won and/or lost against each type of jet. 1 is best, higher numbers are worse: 1) F-16C 2) JF-17 3) FC F-15C 4) DCS F-15E 5) J-11A 6) F-14B 7) F/A-18C 8 ) FC Su-27 9) Mirage 2000 10) FC Mig-29S The viper out accelerates and out runs the hornet any day. Because of this it can climb higher and faster for longer range AIM-120 shots over the hornet in a big way. By the time merge is reached I feel that I have the initiative and more options how to end the fight in the viper. Many times I find F/A-18's flying high the PK for my shots is much higher than against other vipers and eagles. Also, the Viper can maintain cruise speeds @ angels 30K+ altitude without engaging the afterburner with 6 AIM120's and 2 bags unlike the with F-15c 8 MRAAMs and 2 bags. However the eagle still has a larger fuel fraction so it can travel or loiter longer in those conditions. In same conditions the hornet has more difficulty defending against BVR attacks. Most hornet drivers like to do low and slow ambush cap from behind terrain features but only a minority are consistently performing at that regime. More often than not the hornet hardly find chances to explore its superior turning ability (not sure if this is 100% realistic as I have ever known of both trading blows). The JF-17 is extremely menacing due to lethal PL-12's and the jammer pod which can operate at same time as the radar unlike the ALQ-184 on the viper (unless you reduce op mode to 1 which is weaker). The jeff is generally a slower jet than the F-16C and its dogfighting ability is similar to the hornet's. That's why is not nº1. However not many people are flying this jet. The other jets below just suffer from not being dominating in BVR enough, and because of that they cannot dictate the merge conditions preventing them from getting that many chances of exploring their stronger attributes. Summing up. The F-16C with that GE F110 engine is a BEAST. Rocket ship really. Loads of fun to fly and the unobstructed view from the cockpit is fantastic. In DCS, when datalink is available the F-16C comes out on top over the hornet as speed and acceleration matters more in PvP. However for some carrier ops might be the deciding factor. I personally prefer the flight experience in PvP, for this reason F16C it is my fav.
  10. Pilots enter the helicopter through the side doors of the fuselage, or am I wrong? Exiting the cabin is considered an emergency
  11. 1) What control setup do you have? With my WW set up, including extension, I do not find it at all twitchy. Do you have a lot of experience with DCS Warbirds? This can be a common concern with people coming to DCS, especially Warbirds. 2) I have not flown it as much as maybe others have, but I do not feel compelled to do any more trimming than I would expect. 3) This sounds like a 'feeling' thing I personally do not any experience in the real one, but I also do not seem to notice this much, perhaps linked back to the control setup you use. Do you have a track? 3?) It wasn't the fastest out there, but do you have some speed comparisons based on real-world factual data that we can look at? Feelings dont really help. 4) Some of this can be tuned in options, but a reasonable report would be more helpful, I think. They have already made some sound improvements. 5) This requires a report with tracks, you need to show them this happening in action, otherwise they are guessing at what you are experiencing and how or what led to the issue. By replying to your comments, I am not suggesting the F4U is done, complete and perfect yet, but these comments in many cases are not totally helpful without tracks, backing evidence, ect. You took the time to write this, which I am sure they will appreciate, but without more info, your effort might be wasted if they are not expanded on. ] Thanks.
  12. I have a 7800x3d with a 4090 and 64gb ram having just started using frame rate display it shows I'm CPU limited, I am guessing this is normal? If you have a 9800x3d or 9950x3d are you still Cpu limited?
  13. Some screens from the illumination stages of Enterprise '66, following the example of CV-59 Forrestal: Only IFLOLS on: AC Launch: AC recovery:
  14. Is Specter Studios taking over for RB on the SA map? Are they taking over anything else?
  15. What's a "short track?" I can see tracks in my Saved Games\DCS\Tracks\Multiplayer folder but they're all the entire match, not just the incident. How do I trim them down?
  16. Thank you we appreciate the support.
  17. Today
  18. My post was more about being realistic about the hardware requirements for high-end headsets, since “the best VR experience” can mean many things. Personally I’d consider higher framerate on a lower-resolution headset a better VR experience than 20-30 fps with a headset that gives you better visuals. I didn’t mean to suggest the G2 specifically, but ‘a’ headset with similar resolutions because I know the type of system that is needed to run it. So my suggestion would be to not aim too high, but you said you have a budget you want to respect so that’s a good guideline. I wouldn’t be comfortable with a used VR headset either. At the very least it would have to come with a brand new headband since that absorbs quite a lot of sweat. You get where I’m going with this
  19. Как говорил Вучечич строя "Родину мать" - "Пока построим в бетоне, в потомки пусть хоть золотом покроют". Главное сделать задел, а дальше кому нужно будет - поставят нужный блок. Просто он никому не пригодился)
  20. You'll have to try it. Some things may have changed by updates. Any reason why you don't want to update the DCS-BIOS?
  21. Thanks for your efforts this is awesome can you please add a gunsight Thanks for this.
  22. I don't want to go into every exact detail but I have been fortunate to gain real world flight time in four warbirds since 2013. Twice, under unusual insurance conditions, I have flown real F4U-Ds (once in 2022 for 1.3 hours and once in 2024 for 1.5 hours {Obviously, I am not the owner of said Corsair.}). I can easily and definitively say that the F4U-D as it presents in DCS as of Sept of 2025 is not very close with respect to the flight model for a real F4U-D. Major differences include: 1 - The real F4U-D is nowhere, ... and nohow, ... as twitchy as the Magnitude 3 version. All the axes are more stable but most notably, pitch. 2 - While you do have to trim regularly in a real F4U-D, it is not the Tamagotchi situation that presently occurs with the DCS version. 3 - The well known left wing drop is not as bad in the real F4U-D. 3 - I can easily say that the real F4U-D is much faster, ... and subjectively much faster feeling, ... than the DCS version. (It's a f ........ throaty beast, ... and not just subjectively.) 4 - The 13 foot prop is much louder and throatier than the affair in DCS. 5 - While careful attention to engine management is crucial to success in the real F4U-D, the unusual engine seizures and characteristics currently of the DCS version are not correct. Now, I don't mean to drop a turd in the punchbowl and then run for the exits but I am not even a participating member of this forum (by my own choice). I just had not seen any comments from real warbird pilots and wanted to make a contribution. Lastly, I want to say that I am appreciative of Magnitude and time they have spent on this model. I know things will be fine tuned in the months and years ahead. Thanks for your work Magnitude!
  23. Hopefully just me being stupid, but I couldn't see any bindings or something to click on with the mouse to open the doors for the pilot and co-pilot. Am I missing something obvious?
  24. I would hang onto what you've got now and keep saving up. Nothing in going to really give you much improvement. You will have much better success saving for a while and picking up a used unit later on when they become more available and you have more to spend. A used BSB2 9 months from now might be interesting for you.... perhaps
  25. Ähhh... dann muss das geändert worden sein. Ich WAR mir bis gerade eben sicher Vermutlich habe ich es mit der air brake verwechselt... die ist nicht ausfahrbar, wenn der CL tank dran ist.
  26. Ramping up recruitment again after summer break.
