Monopoly, unfortunately, is the key here. ED knows there is little if no alternative. I too think there's room for improvement especially if they commit themselves in specialized advance modules. Speaking out matters but ED should respond if they care

or at least the ability for the users to add points and routs by their own. Think here are enough people willing to do the job. -
Terrain teams do not work on modules. thank you
-
I would pause the new dev and update what you have to adequacy, then turn new dev back on. ED may have over committed with f-35, Iraq, Fulcrum and others.
-
Unfortunately you cannot display them in the mission editor. Only on the F10 Map in the game. Displaying Fixes and Waypoints in the ME is a huge wish!

Has anyone got the last version that was released of the Eurofighter - 1.1?

The map is feature complete, meaning it has met all the planned additions and features. Anything new would be new; it doesn't mean it's "missing" anything based on the original plan. I think many of us at ED would like this as well, its just a matter of dev time and a balance of new maps vs updating old ones. But its on our minds.

Please tell us how is that related to PG as there are so many missing airports and I already asked about a specific one farther south on the map! No name, no ATC is like the development stopped mid work and no update came along. thanks We also remember that there are tools to provide a map of entire world for the size lesser than than 100GB but will never see it here, aren't we?

Before eveyroje gets their pitchforks and torches out, here me out! I know most people don't like monthly subscriptions but in my opinion the model of it sort of fits in DCS. If a weekly/monthly subscription model for both aircraft and maps were to be implemented it would sit between a full purchase of an individual module and the 2 week trial feature. Pricing obviously should be less than what an actual module costs. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions, both positive and negative which I'm expecting there'll be a decent amount. Try to keep them civil and any counter points should be constructive.

Because, for example, MiG-29S is one of the most dangerous in visual range. In my BFM experience against it. Then again, there is no ultimate aircraft. Each excelling in certain areas and outcome mostly depends on situation.

Guys, It is not 2017 anymore, we now have Cold War, Afganistan, Iraq, Kola, South Atlantic, Syria To pull together the nav data for each of these is a day's work and publically available for it to be entered into a data file. Can we explain why the NS430 is not being supported with "new" map data. It has to be said the current lack of navigation as a critical process in flight simulation, is very much out of focus within both the mission editor and F10 map. All the normal routes, low and hi, intersections points and beacons, sid/stars should be present for each map. This adds in additional importance when you consider the upcoming c130 release. Please can one of the team get this in order and updated. Even a base standard would be a start, i dont think anyone is asking for a monthly AIRAC cycle but a base requirement is going to be required. Also as a heads up the C130j has the potential to pull over a new crowd into DCS, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression and as such the nav modules and presentaton within DCS needs dramatically improving, and its not complex surely?

ED has still not provided bindings for a 3-position A/P Pitch switch. I added this myself into the LUA file. If you don't want to make the LUA edit, you need to use the pushbutton bindings. You may have missed one of the necessary bindings. Can you post a screen shot of your bindings? -
BVR down to WVR. Cannot be treated in isolation when inserted in a context of a mission.

requested NS430 missing map data for South Atlantic Map
Hawkeye_UK replied to Vähäkylä's topic in DCS: NS 430
Bumping, Afgan, Cold war, Syria, Sinai Its a valid point at AIRAC also another user highlights, especially with heavies coming into the game re C130J. Even a base as at such a date would be a start. This should be mandatory for all maps, and all third parties making them. Good example is Sinai that was and is in a terrible state re nav beacons, or rather lack off on what is meant to be a flight sim. We need to get to a point where not only does the NS430 have the data, but for those that own the module all this is selectable on the F10 map, and a tick box at the top to push on and off. Its fair to say that the nav part of the game is often so overlooked. -
I also have a Quest 3. I use a dedicated router that sits about 3 feet from the headset. If you don’t have a strong connection, it could be that too much data is being pushed to the headset by that map. Best way to test it is to connect the headset directly to the router with a network cable just to test it. You’d need an Ethernet to USB- C connection to do it.

Currently, nothing else scratches the itch that DCS does, despite its flaws. That monopoly may change if/when a comparable sim comes out (Falcon 5?). Like others have stated, I'm also reluctant to spend more money on DCS, because of its issues. Meanwhile, I'm not taking the easy way out by just quitting or staying quiet about my displeasure. Instead, I point out where there's room for improvement. Occasionally, speaking out does have effect, like it did recently with the net.dostring_in() misadventure. That is part of the problem. ArmA launched its public bug tracker more than 15 years ago and, AFAICT, it helped improve the product. Reporting bugs via the forum, presumably to be forwarded to an internal bug tracker, seems like a giant waste of time for everyone involved.

Cold war and Kola? Question I thought i knew the mission editor really well, how are you getting these displayed @buur The maps displayed so far are you saying that all of these have the intersections built into the 430 (i know they did on the cauc map). I know elevation data is missing on some, think syria from memory etc. If they are there, my question to ED is why cannot they be displayed on the base map in the mission editor if you own the NS430 with a tick option to display them. I see this being even more important with the impending C130J module coming out also. Its always been a big critism, a flight simulator with such a poor nav database, and how often to maps come out and the nav file is shocking, Sinai case in point. @BIGNEWY

I've learnt so much English in these very same forums, for the good, and for the bad, either from natives not very careful speakers-writers as well as non natives speaking-writing very good (or very bad) English. People's mistakes also help to learn when you spot them according to the grammar you've studied, as well as many idioms and expressions I wasn't aware of and people use daily. These forums are a gem for that, so, not only don't try to correct people, please, don't correct everything neither .

Bumping @BIGNEWY @NineLine 19 months on. The ability in the Mig 29 to talk to towers and freq's not pre programmed will be very much needed for unplanned landings etc.

Sounds cool. Assuming you're in the U.S. what night's do wing events & training take place, do you have a regularly set schedule for training & missions?
