Oh, is that why it has that TV screen? I always wondered why they put a full screen in the plane and just used it for HUD reprojection.

Quest 3 but it should not be connected to this slider. We want realistic relections on canopy but don't want unrealistic relflections in the visor -

Got an opinion from an SME - 9.12A, technician. Overspill was very rare, based on some combination of switching radar modes they could not catch, which caused blanking to start de-syncing time to time. Pilots used SPO in training.

No, and won’t be updated

You turn it on and jettison missiles. You can use the expected target range dial, or use KMOD to get one time range, not sure if it’s implemented

Yes, but both the 2D popup module (which has the NS430's "logic", etc.) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/ns430/ and MiG-29 Cockpit NS430 Plugin (which enables the DCS "hooks" that support the 3D NS430 in cockpit model) are required for the "best" VR experience. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/ns430_mig-29a/ It isn't, the 3D model also has less of a FPS impact than the 2D popup when in use.

Thanks for advices. I'll try.

Could this be added in the special options tab? With my Thrustmaster throttle I have a physical detent mod, and I normally set the sim to mimic when I reach this physical detent. It works with most other modules really well. I find with the Mig 29 and the TM warthog throttle reheat is reached quite a lot before this detent. Would be really handy to have this setting.

Hi All. Good news I have solved my update issue, after a bit of detective work, even though the error codes says about the download folder not having enough room, it was in fact referring to the drive as a whole that DCS is installed on, to to be more accurate my 2 versions of DCS I had installed, because I kept an older version in case a major update borked the install, I was swapping between the two to keep the sim running so I can help bug hunt, but now the drive is not big enough, so time for a larger drive, currently its a 2TB SSD. So back to the perceived issue I was having. I removed the older version of DCS and cleared up some Drive space and lo and behold, the update installed with no issue, to celebrate I also purchased the new Mig-29 Module and began testing that. Happy flight time to all and lets keep squashing them bugs!!!

How would manual selection of "PREPARE MAN - AUTO" switch work ? How to manually range target ?

[performance] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
Flanker35M replied to Bucic's topic in Game Performance Bugs
S! @BucicYour frametime goes crazy with Vsync on at low altitudes, as seen in your picture above(white line). I have this same issue on my AMD RX9070XT since latest patches, if using IN GAME VSync the frame time goes crazy and stuttery at low altitude with trees etc. You run nVidia and why not try GSync without VSync enabled? Or use adaptive sync as nVidia should support it? At least on AMD side with FreeSync I did not need VSync ON for it to work as intended. For me to get rid of that "hacksaw effect" on frametime was to use advanced sync from Adrenalin software. That way the frametime did decrease, but the "hacksaw effect" was gone. Another issue for me is the green line aka Simulation thread spiking randomly causing a frametime drops accompanied with FPS drops. Frustrating as heck and made me stop flying DCS until finding a solution. -
That was it! Thank you. Though why are these not available in historical missions? I tried years from 70s to 00s and it doesn't work in any.

A P-51D Cockpit that Looks and Feels... Right.
Weta43 replied to Bowie's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
...But for a given size monitor scale is simply a function of FoV and magnification & is the principal determinant of whether something reaches the minimum resolution angle of the eye / covers a pixel. If something doesn't do both those things, then you won't see it without a spotting aid. If you can't see it without a spotting aide when in real life you would be able too, then a spotting aid is functionally more realistic than not having a spotting aid - even if it looks more gamey &/or feels like a cheat I play on a vertical orientation 32" screen at 2160x3840 - it provides both a realistic (vertical) field of view and a realistic scale for observed objects (both of which make it quite immersive). but it sacrifices horizontal FOV to achieve that & still doesn't have the spotting resolution your eyes do. Both those first things make the sim more immersive (look ahead of yourself now - we are more aware of the vertical slice of the world in front of us than the equivalent in horizontal degrees (presumably so we are aware of what we might trip over or bang our head on.) Regarding the second though - The desire to have realistic FOV + realistic scale of objects in view + realistic acuity (spotting ability) without additional zoom or spotting aids is - in my opinion - a fantasy until we have screens that have a similar pixel per degree to the human eye and present a similar total degrees of vision spanned. (So ~95 pixel per degree1 for 210° x 150°- or a 19,950-pixels x 14,250 pixels screen that's big enough to be set at a distance where the pixels subtend 1/95th of a degree while still being at a distance at which it is able to be focused on. That might be quite small physically for something like a VR headset, but for a 2D panel it's going to be a big-ars3d screen. (of course, with eye tracking, the whole image doesn't need to be at that level of detail - most of it wouldn't even need to be rendered in colour, but it all needs to be able to display that resolution everywhere.) Below that resolution & FoV coverage, everything is compromise & what the 'best' compromise is - is monitor + viewer dependent, & in the end just personal preference. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 1 Resolution limit of the eye: how many pixels can we see? -

Have you checked the clock symbol for historical mode being off? Also check the country. It works for me with Russia, USSR or the combined forces red/blue. But will not work with GDR (even this should be possible, as they operated these equipment).

Quasi started following SA342 Gazelle - radio menu - BUG
-
Hello Eagle Dynamics Team, I'm going to write it here now: Since the last update on 25.09.18, there has been an issue with the SA-342 Gazelle where the F10 menu (radio menu) opens for the pilot when the copilot uses it, and vice versa. This is not very helpful for cooperative flying in the Gazelle, as the pilot and copilot often have to perform different tasks simultaneously, and the menu should be independent—just like in other modules. As a test, we tried the AH-64, and everything works fine there! Many thanks and best regards Quasi/ Joker
