Why do I need the "Switch side" command on a Tape Player?
ASW replied to ASW's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
On the F-4, the player works like a CD. CD appeared at the very end of the 80s. There is a DAT or video cassette in the F-4 DCS. -
[SLOW PERFORMANCE] Unusually long load times and close times
Akula replied to SOLIDKREATE's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Just confirmed HAGS has been off since I last disabled it a year ago but I guess windows re-enabled “Game mode” after a few updates. I just disabled it again. Might be re-enabled when I play steam games but I’ll test that later. For now it’s all disabled thanks for your help. -

Maybe the auto startup starts up the plane so quickly and the doppler nav device can't have enough time to warm up? IIRC when using fast alignment some nav datas are actually not provided by INS but by doppler nav system. So without doppler the nav system will fall back using air data to provide nav information, and some functions will be degraded.

More paths for accessibility are almost always nice..... BUT, here is something better: When I was getting back into the Hornet in 2021, to dust off major amounts of rust, I had put the whole manual from it (in 'docs' folder) in my cellphone on a easily accessible folder. Just that. Simple and much better than relying on internet connectivity. I did the same for the Warthog and it was a breeze to get a "bump" ironed out. I'm currently learning the Apache as well and you reminded me of what I did with the Hornet with this thread. Cool ideas. Manuals should be everywhere indeed. Try out putting in a hand held device the .pdf manual you most rely on... or every single one and I'd bet you won't regret it.

Hi, It seems it was the cause for me but there's a last problem. When I don't run TrackIR in admin mode, the reset/pause/precision keys don't work ingame. Head tracking is working very smooth in game but key inputs don't. In windows everything works as intended, I can pause/reset but it just doesn't apply when I'm in DCS fullscreen. If I do run TrackIR in admin mode then key inputs work ingame but the game freezes and crashes about 1 min after loading in the plane on the ground, like when I zoom inside to turn the battery on it freezes my system until I'm offered to kill the process. Any idea how to fix it ? These TIR freezes and crashes are driving me crazy. Thanks

Yeah but it can be a scavenger hunt for those that don't live on the website. I'm thinking from the casual user that needs it without going through different portals. The image I attached is what I ended up finding last night but the manual wasn't current. But like you said, most of those are not up to date compared to the folder path to get to the docs. I'm just a huge believer in the KISS method, keep it simple stupid.

It is important that the 3D model will not be encrypted, so there will be no problem with displaying it in the current Model Viewer for DCS:

Ok, we agree on that,... ...so... ....remind us which new party or perhaps what modules are subjective to the post-Hawk agreements Because currently it's like ED is advertising they took the poison out of their babyfood, but there is still 10 years of stock to sell before the non-poisoned babyfood will finally be in the stores

Correct. It worked here (however no hand animation like video before). WiP perhaps still.

What was the conclusion? (I came across this thread as I was trying to set up a landing exercise with bad visibility.)

As I said, the MiG-29 9.12A will be the first ED module to have working visors. You can see this for yourself on the footage taken at latest Flight Sim Expo. It's also been confirmed by ED.

Nice found, btw. MiG-29A FF maybe will have sunvisor but now (in the latest promo video from near 2 months ago) its only animation, no any „darker” effect. Maybe at release they will finish it, who knows?

Right. I don’t know why there needs to be another spot. Although sometimes I notice these aren’t kept up to date. They should be. From the forums, tap on the image or logo at the top and it will take you to the DCS website. Then pull down the Doc section for the manuals.

I'm following the manuals curved approach. pretty scary stuff when you first try it, around 250' in the circuit. But it means with flaps down you are already at the 3 point attitude and with plenty of power on, no wollowing and full view of the deck. Cross the stern at 200 plus, cut power and it will plonk on the deck. Better than freelancing and very satisfying. ..

Fair enough! The attention to details catches me off guard quite often. Haha! -
I am very curious whether and when they would be willing to implement this. Two weeks mister, two weeks.

If you check other sites, you'll notice that some haven't been updated for some time. It's best to follow the English version.

This is what I am referring to. There is essentially no torque in some DCS warbirds above stall speed. You can go throttle stop to stop without touching the controls at any speed above stall speed. There are plenty of stories about the Mustang and Corsair as well as all the other high HP WWII single engine aircraft. The P-38 was designed to have counter-rotating props to avoid the issue all together and it was well known that the 109 would torque roll off trying to climb with the P-38. In DCS, the Mustang shows almost nothing when throttle is slammed stop to stop under the conditions described to demonstrate the powerful torque roll. The Spitfire is a bit more sporty and the 109 demonstrates the most torque of them but it certainly never loses rudder authority at full power at any speed . The Corsair looks pretty milquetoast in the above video. This doesn't make the airplane 'easy' or 'hard'. If you know that your throttle hand is connected to your right foot and right hand, you will not have any problems, especially if you apply throttle slowly. However, rapid application of throttle below 120 knots in anything with 2000+ hp without simultaneous control inputs should result in something very exciting happening. We aren't seeing anything like that. DCS is supposed to make the FM realistic, but they have failed in this area. And the customer seem to encourage this error for an unknown reason. Engine torque is always present. At a given MP/RPM combination, torque is a CONSTANT. What changes is the available force to counter it via airspeed over the flight controls. We don't see that in DCS. We see hard snap rolls to the left at stall speed and torque is magically erased or reduced to negligible levels once above stall speed. NOTE: When I say 'torque" I mean all the forces that contribute to aircraft rotation and yaw opposite to the rotation of the propeller.
