Simplified reference for HOTAS functions. This is to provide a better format (one page rather than the manual's 8.) NOTE: Some switches (like Boat) are not listed in the X52 version, as I've separated those functions in my X52 control setup (this thread). I've attached the Excel files (WH and X52) for your editing and printing pleasure. WARTHOG HOTAS: HOTASFunctions(WH).zip HOTASFunctions(x52).zip6 points

I made a guide on how to do this (it assumes basic familiarity with the training material, but you can jump in it from there) and threw it on youtube as per request: It's not gospel on how this is done, but the method I'm using seems to work pretty well. I like the fact that you can store target data in flight plans.4 points

Hi, guyz. This look like a very nice community, and i really like the A-10 and feel like this will be a super flight sim, but i am new to flightsims, do i got a chance with the A-10 from DCS ??? and how can i start preparing... was looking at manuals thread but dont have a clue where to start... Is there a wordlist some place, because when i am reading the forums i see a lot of abbreviations and dont know anything of what they mean..? Sorry for lack of better english skills, but hope my message still is understandable. Thanks in advance :) Regards, Mo'1 point

When the final release version is ready, will it use my Beta activation or will I have to burn another one for the final release?1 point

I understand your point Mower and when it comes to TvsT it's pro's and con's in my opinion. Some of the problems can be minimized by mission design (like 104th did on their nice pub server). Among the pro's from my POV is that FC 2.0 + DCS can mix less experienced pilots with more experienced and allows for more people (i.e larger scenarios) to take part in the fun on their own terms. I know for a fact that lots of people just can't justify the time needed to learn a hardcore sim due to their RL obligations (family, work etc.) but like to fly with others now and then anyway. @159_Viper: I have to see if I can give a good argument when I sober up a bit but shooting from the hip I say - what I said above + future DCS-modules :) /KC1 point

Yout get more cheap HALL sensor than these above. Ie. Clorostat HRS100 ~U$ 35,00 - or more cheap if DIY. Gameport to USB converter use cheap circuits - same of generic gamepads... I advise buy a Tm T.16000M, and use his board circuit to drive axis in your pedal - 1 or 3. Bonus: If you buy a HOTAS Warthog the axis in your modded pedal is seen in T.A.R.G.E.T, since firmware of T.16000M alow this. :smilewink: Sokol1_Br1 point

During the DSMS training mission, there's a UH-1 departing the field with doors fwd. In the left hand quarter compartment (door gunner's seat) there's a drink bottle laying on the seat. (Doesn't roll around as the Huey pitches and rolls though :) ) -Bear1 point

Reading the entire manual cover to cover before hour 1.0 of flight isn't good learning technique. Worrying about prepping the DSMS pages for S-J isn't going to help you fly pattern around the airfield and put the tires down softly. Every single flight program uses a building block approach cycling through theory, details, application, evaluation, and improvement on a topic-by-topic basis. You should pick out a manageable block of knowledge each sortie, define what capability you want out of it, read up on it, and try it until you get it done correctly and understand it. My first day with the Ka-50 I just wanted to start it up and shut it down properly. The next week I flew it from place to place with the weapons off. Then I did cannons. Then I learned the UV-26. Then I learned the PVI. And so on.1 point

Ставишь диск с акулой в дисковод, открываешь папку видео на нем, запускаешь например первый ролик в программе Media Player Classic Homecinema из пакета кодеков K-Lite Codeck Pack, открыв видео этим проигрывателем жми File-Load Subtitle, выбирай соответствующий файл .srt, из распакованного архива. so far I am Extremely impressed at how accurate the roads are for the Las Vegas area. I was actually able to find my cross streets and the texture of my house! I know a good bit about mapping but I don't have the software to use. I would love to help build the city. If you guys have any questions about places and what they look like I would love to help.1 point

So either use the 'search this forum' or 'search this thread' option, or at the very least read the FAQ. Both of those issues have been reported dozens of times, and a workaround for the EAC switch is available as well. Remember that the 'open beta' forums are for people to participate in the beta. If you can't even spare a minute to conduct a quick search to see if the problem has already been reported (let alone read the FAQ stickies), then it's very unlikely your contribution is going to be anything other than noise. Please have a bit of respect for the dev and tester teams.1 point

Mach tuck is an aerodynamic effect, whereby the nose of an aircraft tends to pitch downwards as the airflow around the wing reaches supersonic speeds. It's the result of an aerodynamic stall due to an over-speed condition. As the aircraft's wing approaches its critical Mach number, the aircraft is traveling below Mach 1.0. However, the accelerated airflow over the upper surface of the cambered wing exceeds Mach 1.0 and a shock wave is created at the point on the wing where the accelerated airflow has gone supersonic. While the air ahead of the shock wave is in laminar flow, a boundary layer separation is created aft of the shock wave, and that section of the wing fails to produce lift. :smartass:1 point

The "theft" often occurrs in both directions. Black and white, right or wrong, thinking does not apply to complex issues. So good luck with that.1 point

Without commenting on the likelihood of a DTS interface being added eventually, I'll just mention something not everyone may be aware of, which is the Prepare Mission function in the ME. This allows the mission designer to configure the avionics and save their state in the mission. This does not transfer to other missions, but remains intact whenever the mission is played.1 point

Some more :) Some afterburner shots #7. #8. #9. #10. #11. #12. #13. The Falcon DA-20 used the narrow runway 06R for take-off #14. The 'Tiger Formation' returns from a CSAR mission #15. and #16. Two more of the AB-212s, which seem to be very popular amongs spotters1 point

Now .. that's what I'm talking about! I did RTFM all the way through. I just completed my first flight and it was wildly successful. I created a night mission so I could concentrate on the cockpit while doing practical subsystem familiarization. I created a flightplan with waypoints and bullseye, from the cockpit instead of the mission editor. I took off and was pleased with how the "C" cradled me in information and responded to my HOTAS (see X52pro profile here) Here's the crazy part that made me look around to see if there was a dev looking over my shoulder laughing. After thoroughly reading the manual, creating a night mission, and embarking on my 120 mile check flight.... half way through I had a CADC failure!!! I didn't panic. I knew what to do. My alt/speed were locked and flashing. I selected PNU on the altimeter to open the pitot and get a manual reading. I went to my CDU and tried a hot reset from the systems page; no joy. Tried to cycle the power; no joy.. bit test fail. I checked my 'divert' and found the closest field. I radioed and asked for nav and told them I was inbound. I performed a perfect cold VFR landing. As I went through the shutdown checklist I reflect on how glad I am that I waited for my first flight. My first flight will undoubtedly be remembered as one of my best.1 point

Mvsgas, the center body does spin. You are talking about the center nose cone thing right? Look here about about 50 seconds into it Sorry, I couldn't embed the video here1 point

+1 If possible I would like to see FC 2.0 compatable in MP also after DCS fighters are released since it allows people that don't wan't (or have the time) to spend X days with a manual combined with Y weeks training for one plane/heli to take part in the fun! I know some argue that it's unfair bla bla since the planes in FC 2.0 is easier to fly but in co-op's that doesn't matter IMO (main objective is to have fun together). For those still feeling it's an issue in PvP it could be solved with mission design (i.e only DCS planes/helis available to fly). IMHO, FC 2.0 is a good entry level flight sim and a perfect way to bring in new blood to this seemingly diminishing hobby - tried to get my brothers 4 boys into flightsims for years but all they care about is "trollhunting" in WoW it seems :music_whistling: /KC1 point

Hi guys, after a couple hours I finished a list. This has everything in the game that is keybound by default commands. See attatchment, it was an openoffice excel spreadsheet converted to .pdf. Hopefully there won't be too many errors, it was a fast draft, so much to type I didn't look it over too much, hope it helps you guys. DCS A-10C Default Key Commands.pdf1 point
