  1. I used to use these all the time in Falcon 4, so I decided to make one up for DCS A-10C. It's attached below. Hope you enjoy it. Edit: added a few things and expanded some abbreviations where possible for those not so familiar. Edit 2: I attached the cold start checklist I made up, it also has things from the Beta 2 manual that I thought I would want quick access to. Edit 3: Mission Data Card changes; added elevation for airbase data squares, added TGP laser designator code as well as GBU laser designator code....cause nothing sucks worse than dropping a GBU that did not have a matching laser code with the TGP! Also color in the PRI/SEC target boxes, and last, dedicated Lat/Lon UTM coordinate boxes for JTAC target locations. Edit 4: JTAC section additions, misc changes. Edit 5: Cold Start Checklist updated to Final Release parameters. Edit 6: Cold Start Checklist revised, now Version 2. Edit 7: Mission Data Card now provided in A5 Format as well as 8.5X11 Look for A5 at the end of file description for A5 version. Edit 8: Cold Start Checklist added Environmental Controls, now Version 3. Edit 9: External Light activation was moved post APU GEN start. Version 4. 3. This might have been brought up before. Since FC i find it hard to locate these F## keys on my keyboard (specially at night) to control the radio. Now that we have a HOTAS switch for radio tuning how about if we could use the same switch to select the radio items. Like eg. when the radio is selected use another button of this switch to scroll down. Then make a selection with another button from this switch. And again scroll down and make a selection of the radio command. So everything HOTAS, all to our convience.

  4. Greetings all. The Pre- Purchase release by ED for the A10-C is for some of us, a very early Xmas present! :joystick: The fidelity, thought, research, blood sweat tears and of course time, that has gone into this project so far is incredible. Some are having problems with it; Hardware conflicts, low / poor frame rates and 'bugs' that appear seemingly randomly, but to be fair, ED did not hide this on release. The Open Beta channel has been setup for us to post our thoughts and problems and works alongside ED's closed Beta as a way of gathering appropriate information to be addressed in future patches. Wags recently announced that there will be no more producer notes for the A10C due to ill health (good luck with op!) and there being not enough of a commodity that is valuable in business - time. There will however, be interactive information missions and these (IMHO) will undoubtedly dot the i's and cross the 'T''s. Until the Retail release however, There's some excellent videos on you tube on how to FLY, NAVIGATE and ENGAGE with the A10C and you will want to augment these, on to your own training regime. I would like to offer you my own series of IVS. Currently It is all ENGAGEMENT orientated and may offer some clarity with regards to the employment of some weapon systems. This Series is Ideal if you want continuity of instruction, rather than a million different methods, voices, quality of format and instruction, etc. All videos are available in HD 720p. Please use that and full screen. Pause for 1 minute after selecting 720p if neccessary, for buffering. Annotations are in use. Just doing my part. Please Enjoy them. Thanks. 5. Logan, to be honest, if you are not a fan of high fidelity flight sims (and I doubt you are a fan of any flight sim even arcade one since you don't even have a joystick) then don't think about buying this sim. $60 for study sim like DCS series is nothing if you ask me... and yes... flight sims like this do require time to learn them and good PC hardware and flight sim peripherials to fly them and that does cost money. So it's not a question of Demo (there are plenty of youtube videos of the Beta and screenshots so you can see what game looks like) it's a question of weather you have the passion for it... and to me it doesn't seem you do.

  6. Then you're simply not the target market for this kind of game. If you can't tell it's amazing from the videos and reviews and posts that's a shame. But it doesn't mean that time should be taken away from development to cater to people who probably can't or won't even play it (or pay for it) anyway. :pilotfly:

  7. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it works the way you want it to ... sorry. Not everyone has a TM setup but a lot of people do have some form of HOTAS. If your specs are that low, you might indeed have a lot of difficulty running A-10C. And those 'demos' are pretty easy to get around. ED dropped the demo scheme a long time ago, and AFAIK it isn't coming back.

  8. Update on the CDU. Spent all morning working on the buttons. Don't get too excited, this was a first run and there were several mistakes. I am on the right track I think. Painted the bezel yesterday and it turned out great. No good pictures of it yet. This morning I took a piece of acrylic that I had previously welded together. It was made up of .25 clear and .0625 white. I painted the white side with some light gray paint I had on hand. I think I need something darker. Anyway, after the paint was dry, I used a .0625 V carving bit to engrave the text. Very happy with those results. Then I cut the buttons out and this is where I had a couple problems. First off, the piece moved - I've learned the double sided tape does not work well when adhered to wood. So, after several minutes of trying to re-align the piece, I started again and was off only by a few hundreths on one axis, so some of the text was not centered once the button was cut out. Lesson learned - I'll be attaching these with screws from now on. I lost a few buttons due to my depth of cut being too deep (final specs on this was for a .375 piece, so I was .0625 too deep.) :doh:The buttons went flying up into my vacuum system. I was also off in the measurement of the line select keys. I think the layers of paint may be a factor here. Anyone know how thick a layer of paint might be?? The end result is encouraging though, so next I'll be getting the correct thickness of acrylic and the proper paint color and running this again. Using a flashlite to demonstrate the backlighting affect.... and that's with only one layer of paint and the sides still unpainted. Some very poor pics are attached as proof! :D

  14. Open-Beta Forum/Training Mission sub-forum contains numerous threads dealing with the same topic. Please Gentlemen, having requested on numerous occasions to at least attempt a cursory search of the relevant forums/sub-forums to see whether your query has already been dealt with, duplicate threads are still popping up like Mushrooms after a Shite-Storm..........:music_whistling: Is it an intentional ploy to burden an already over-burdened pack-donkey just to see him suffer?
