  1. Just wanted to give potential new buyers a heads up. Black Shark and a-10C Warthog is being sold on steam at 33% off its original price, respectively 26.66€ (originally 39.99€) for Black Shark and A-10 is going at 33.33€ (from 49.99€). Dont know what the USD price is, but I guess its about the same in dollars. The offer will last two weeks and ends 12th August. Edit: Ongoing rebates now also on the DCS and LOMAC site: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en and http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop Cheers. PS: It kind of sucks that I found out this today, as I went ahead and purchased a-10 from the ED site just two hours before spotting this sale, and I bought Black Shark very recently as well. Could have had both on Steam... Then again this leaves more money for ED I should think, and also I already got hundreds of games on Steam already. Starting to clutter ;)

  3. This fixed the need for 'every frame' display (256, 512 or 1024) for me. It also fixed my corrupt TGP/Mirrors. 1. Download nvidia inspector, I used 1.9.5.5 - Nvidia Inspector 1.9.5.5 . Extract it to a folder (ex: C:\NvidiaInspector 2. Run the program, once it's open click the driver profile setting button 3. In the Profiles dropdown selection box, pick Digital Combat Simulator Black Shark. Or just type in digital and it will come up 4. Scroll down until you see the SLI settings. These are the default values it gives 5. We will change the following: - SLI rendering mode: SLI_RENDERING_MODE_FORCE_AFR_OF_SFR_FALLBACK_3AFR 6. At the very top right of nvidia inspector, hit "APPLY CHANGES". You're done! PLEASE NOTE: If these settings do not work for you, just simply use the "restore current profile to nvidia default settings" button at the top of nvidia inspector.

  4. Hi, I saw this a few months ago but can't find any more info about it only youtube videos, it was presented in a campus party in brazil. Truly this motion simulator is amazing, and the first thing that comes to your mind is ... will be for sale? Anyone knows if this project will be commercial or just was only a project to be presented in the campus party. Saludos (Cheers)

  5. Hello fellows simmers! Just wanted to share the feelings and a bit of adrenaline I got from the first succesful night-time zero-visibility ILS landing. I'm still a total newbie with the Hog, can barely manage the easy instant missions, and been practicing with a bit of this and that. I have some history with FSX so I thought ILS landings would be the one thing I COULD do, but Dear Lord I'm not able to do that again if I wanted to. I put a simple ils practice mission at night with such a bad visibility I literally couldn't see the position of air brakes :megalol: Anyways, interecepted the Batumi localizer at about 10nm and 2500ft, and after that, he** broke loose. With a ridicilous amount of luck and chasing the needles (which you should not do), I ended up in perfectly centered position some 20ft above the runway, which scared the cp** out of me, but somehow managed to flare and made a decent landing, but due to fog I barely could steer straight and brake to a full halt on the runway. Dang a smoke felt good after that. Man I'm in looove with this sim. If you want to watch the track I can post it, there's some random fiddling with the buttons cause there's still so much I don't have a clue, and it looked quite fun afterwards =D. Thanks Ed guys.

  8. In 1.1.0.9 patch Lua environment for mission scripting was separated from main simulator Lua environment that drives build-in systems (radio communication GUI, radio message building procedures, debriefing GUI and others) and used debugging too. There was the two reasons: 1. Using main simulator Lua environment for mission scripting is unsafe because here are multiple unsafe modules and functions (binary module loading, input-output, file system management, process running). 2. Mission scripting does not need functions those not related to game world. Game world is a couple of game objects: time, terrain, atmosphere, units, groups, weapons e.t.c. Lua environment for mission scripting must not have functions to control graphic and sound system, main loop, GUI and other application systems. By definition. The Lua environment is made not for mod making. This made for mission making. The Lua environment allow mission designer to write sophisticated logic to control AI-controlled groups and untis that cannot be implemented with ME GUI or may be implemented easer with programming than using ME GUI. Main simulator Lua environment may be used mod making, but on modders own risk. But even in 1.1.0.9 this environment still not officially exist because not all works done. There is still no final version of documentation. I have started working on this document at the beginning of last week and will publish it when it will done.

  10. I've made a replacement texture which includes the missing CDU EGI text on the right console. As usual, installation instructions are included in the Read Me. Enjoy

  11. Mate, you can't really compare the LO aircraft to a DCS aircraft. So every request wether for a fixed wing of any type or a helicopter is kinda valid. :smartass:

  12. It's just part of my training process. If you can become very proficient at locating, engaging, and destroying targets using dumb bombs without the benefit of a targeting pod, then once you have the pod along with PGMs you become that much more effective. I also only use my right MFCD (A-10A style) and always locate JTAC-designated targets by manually inputting the coordinates as opposed to hooking the "cake." Call me crazy, but it's just how I choose to train:) I train boxers as a profession. Sometimes I'll duct tape a fighter's hands to his waist while he works defense against another who's free to punch away. After a few sessions, take the tape off and allow the guy to block with his hands in addition to his body movement...he'll be practically untouchable.

  13. I found the original post, however the good and shorts answers are above. "JTACs have three lasers at their disposal and they do different things. SOFLAM/Laser Designator - This is for target marking and Terminal Guidance Operations (TGO). This laser cannot be viewed with NVG's, is a class IV laser (very bad for unprotected eyes). The JTAC will set a four digit laser code (PRF) which will match the LGB or LST on the plane. The SOFLAM has a laser ranging function available to the JTAC/operator. Laser Range Finder - JTACs use this to determine distance to a target and from that determine position of said target. The aircraft has zero interface with this Laser. This is a class I, eye safe laser. We typically use the MKVII LRF, but just recently got a new one. IR pointer - This LASER has zero to do with terminal guidance of a weapon and works in different spectrum. Imagine it's a Light Saber that works at night and can be seen only with NVG's. It is not eye safe, so watch where you point the thing. Operations with IR pointer and LASER have specfic procedures with distinct brevity codes associated with each. Types of Control. I'll save that for another post, if anyone cares. But realize that type of control is not determined by target marking or it's more of a tactical situation and risk assessment call."

  17. Thanks for linking those, Viper. I don't care what anyone says, I think that airplane looks badass... utilitarian but with nice lines. Cannot wait to see more as it steps into the limelight! Here's the launch: NkNZfu3EdvA
