  4. Decided I would give it a go making a mission. First thing I found was a new respect for all the mission makers out there! It's not easy and takes a lot of hard work and figuring out. Massive thanks to MadTommy for the template! The mission is built up of 12 different tasks, each time the mission is flown 3 random tasks will be chosen. There are 4 En environment settings so you will always have differnet threats and there will somtimes be SEAD or AH help, but this will also be random! Idea is you can fly the mission many times and it will always be different! As I said MASSIVE thanks to MadTommy for the template! Mission is: Tusk flight x4 A10C defeneding Zugdidi heliport. Inputting co-ords into CDU is a must! Once airbourne you can listen to SEAD flights etc, to see how much help you are (or not LOL) getting. Hope you all enjoy and if anyone wishes to edit or change the mission I have no problems with that! :joystick: The mission was more of a practice for me to learn the ME, and thus won't be updated. I have a new mission in progress. Op_Damcon_1.1.1.0.miz

  5. Hi guys, is it possible to display the remaining flares with BS2 and Opencockpits-Displaycard using Sioc? I already inserted gillesdrone´s UV26 code: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1077469 but this code will not display the subtracted flares, respectively the remainig ones. It always keeps staying at annoying "128". Everything else is displayed fine exept this "little" information. I know, that now, it´s possible, with BS2, to export the UV26-Digits via viewports in monitorsetup.lua but is there no way to put/translate this onto "real" digits? In times of BS1 i built a UV26 with Opencockpits Displaycard and 3-Digit in hope that it will be working sometime (digits are not yet glued inside): It seems we need some programming genius to do this...:smilewink: Regards Terrorvogel

  6. If you have a problem with moderator disciplinary action, sort it out per PM or take it to the community managers (Groove or EvilBivol1). As you can see, none of the reasonable criticism is being deleted... *sigh* Even the unreasonable criticism is kept unless it crosses the line of being disrespectful.

  7. 7700! But seriously, nobody likes a smart***. Personally I have found the moderators here to be of very high quality, not just in how they moderate the forums (which is a huge task BTW), but also in how they conduct themselves. Even more importantly, they care enough about the community to actually warn you if you are doing something wrong. And even then, it's more of a "Hey, can you please stop doing this? or at least refrain from speaking in such a abrasive manner?" than a "you've been warned once, do it again and I will ban you" which I see more often than not on other forums.

  8. The problem is that the customers don't know what they want. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  9. Well that depends on your mainboard. The LGA 775 socket architecture you use doesn't have an unlocked multiplier for the CPU, so to overclock, you have to increase the FSB frequency That means that everything else running on the FSB will be overclocked as well, that includes the memory, unless you change the multiplier for the memory. But in the case of my old mainboard and CPU, setting the FSB frequency to 400 (slight overclock on my e8400 from 3.0 to 3.6 GHz) meant that with the lowest multiplyer, my memory was already running at it's stock 800Mhz and it wouldn't go higher and be stable. If you know what you are doing, you can overclock the memory as well, but in my experience, you are going to need to increase the voltage pretty soon, and to overclock the memory, you need proper heatspreaders on them and good case circulation. Long story short, if you buy faster memory, you are going to have more options when overclocking in the case of socket 775.

  10. why are you running x64 with only 4 gig ram? Get at least another 4gig, setup a ramdisk to run your pagefile, overclock and tweek that thing. You should be able to get decent FPS, I assume your just running a single monitor? I have a Q6600 @ 3gig with 6 gig ram running dual monitor (1980x2280) and runs around 20-30fps in campains with most settings on med-high. Took alot of work to get, but it is possible!

  14. Erm, that very announcement not only says what the next product is, it mentions the next 4 products. The specific DCS Legends aircraft has not yet been realeased but Nevada, Combined Ops, and FC3 have all been announced. What else do you want? But even ignoring the above, why on earth should ED/TFC tell you what products they are planning a year in advance? Do you go banging on the door of every other company you purchase products from demanding to know what they are working on? Honestly the unjustified sense of entitlement expressed by some in this community astounds me.

  15. I don't actually think it would be. Announcing the airframe only gives you a small indication of what you'll be able to do. For example if they say they're doing a Hornet variant, immediate (and important) questions will be: will there be carrier ops? will it have HARMs? if it's going to have HARMs does that mean there'll be an IADS? will it have AMRAAMs? if so will air-to-air combat be a major focus? etc. etc. Lots of things that can't be answered until it's actually implemented and working. Right now, there's only one question: "what's the next aircraft going to be?" If they announce the aircraft, they replace that with hundreds of questions that they definitely can't answer yet. History shows that if ED were to say "we hope to have carrier launches + landings" many people read it as "we absolutely promise the most detailed simulation of carrier operations ever in a computer game" and get very upset when they don't get what they think they were promised. That's not necessarily the fault of the person misinterpreting the statement, either. We all have our own ideas of the particular features we'd like to see in the sim, and so there's a natural tendency to assume ED will have the same desires (as well as the ability to implement them). So I'd rather they delay announcing the aircraft until they can also announce the actual game features. There's also the possibility that they're not allowed to announce what it is until after some set date, or after completion of works for their "sponsor", or what-have-you. And there's also the possibility they're not allowed to publish any details of their contracts, no matter how trivial... :music_whistling:

  18. OK... so that's weird. I was having all of the nightmarish BS2 Trimmer problems that others have been reporting until I started doing exactly what isn't working for you. As soon as I started holding the Trimmer before the start of any maneuver and then releasing when I'd stabilized to the desired attitude, I gained totally smooth control over the aircraft. I just checked my settings and noticed that I DO have CENTRAL POSITION TRIMMER MODE checked in the MISC settings. For what it's worth, I'm using a TM Warthog and moved the Trimmer from S3 (which is horrible) to S4 which is wonderfully natural. Hope this helps.

  21. I have one problem. 5.3 works fine for me without Servman. But with Servman it doesnt work. I use Modman. So I uninstalled slmod-nonservman, installed Servman 301rc1 and then slmod+servman. But also your test missions arent working. Maybe I've forgotten something? Ah, ok, understood. :)

  22. Wiki title page looks better! Squadron roster took too much space indeed. I see no reasons to ask for feedback after each change. I will find you and I will ... ask you if you do something I personally don't like. I ruin only bots' work without a notice. Another topic is FAQs. How to urge people to store data on wiki instead of forum. While forum FAQs are attractive to writers there is no sense to copy them to wiki.

  23. Using Lua socket, true F10 radio options for clients could probably be delivered by a mod- but EVERYONE would have to have this mod, not just the host. The point of Slmod is the "S" part- server. Slmod is extremely simple for folks flying missions because all you need to do is install it on the person hosting the multiplayer flight. An example of a mod that can't and doesn't work this way is TARS- it has to be installed and used by everyone or no one. It is simply not possible to localize all TARS code to just the server. We get folks who don't fly online for weeks at a time sometimes and then come back online looking for some action. If we're using TARS, we can't talk to them and they can't join in. I'd rather avoid the same kind of situation with Slmod, and try to keep the number of mods that need to be installed and up to date at the minimum. If the requirement of keeping everyone up to date with Slmod was added to the requirement of keeping everyone up to date with TARS, then it would just become a huge hassle. So Slmod will always be something that is only required on the server host. As such, only chat messages can be used for data entry. At the same time, keeping it server-only will limit in some cases certain functionality I would like to add. So over the long term, if I pile up enough really "cool" things that can only be accomplished with a client-side mod as well, then I MIGHT make the switch. It would no longer be "Slmod" at this point, however. But any such switch is pretty far down the road, and not probable anyhow. Right now, the benefits do not justify the costs.
