  3. ZZZSPACE SOUND PACK FOR FC2.1 This is a zip package created using ModMan 7.3.0.0 Utility - required for its installation. MediaFire link to file: http://www.mediafire.com/?lfxp0mvg1jdt0dc zzzspace v1.0 Complete Soundpack for Lock On FC2.1 Released: 6th Jan 2012 This soundpack was created with one thing in mind, to make FC jets sound like real jets. If you heard a real fighter fly overhead today that is what this soundpack sounds like. It is the most realistic, dynamic and sophisticated Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2.1 soundpack available. It takes FC2.1 to a higher standard of modern air combat audio imagery. IT CONTAINS THESE FEATURES: (1) EXTERNAL SOUNDS: Engine and external flight sounds were very carefully constructed to present the most realistic sound environment ever in Lock On. One that closely approaches to the real sound character of high performance fighter jets. Explosions and missile sounds are new and carefully selected from live fire exercises and combat. (2) COCKPIT SOUND: I listened to audio of recorded fighter cockpit sound environments and tried to re-create that sound environment. It's close in overall character with some necessary concessions. I selected an F/A-18E cockpit as the generic sound within this soundpack, as it provides the best quality and characteristics I could find. I also added subdued pilot breathing in the background and air-combat radio-chatter. Plus I provided more stressed breathing effects for higher angles of attack and more aggressive manoeuvring. I balanced the avionics warning-tones so that they fit better with the overall cockpit atmospherics. (3) RADIO SOUND: 'Betty' and 'Almaz' have both been edited to highlight the most important and relevant warnings, while de-emphasising ancillary or otherwise monotonous alerts. All warnings are made shorter via removing unnecessary long gaps between each word, plus mildly increasing pitch to speed-up playback (especially for Almaz) without reducing the clarity or degrading the diction. This approach also provides the earliest, clearest and loudest verbal missile launch and o'clock directional alerts plus damage reports and recommendations playback more quickly, allowing you to understand and respond faster. (4) INTRO SCREEN: Replaced the FC2.1 background audio with two real-world high intensity air-to-air, and ground-to-air combat audio sequences. (5) EXTRAS: Included an alternative file called; "CockpitSystems ALTERNATIVE NO RADIO CHATTER OR PILOT BREATHING.ogg" The name of the file is self-explanatory. If you wish to use this alternative file instead of the one with the breathing and radio chatter that comes standard with this soundpack, then rename this file to, "CockpitSystems.ogg" - after having manually deleted the existing CockpitSystems.ogg file that's already provided - of course. This soundpack is not intended to work with other versions of Lockon. enjoy

  6. 1) Set SPI (TMS Forward Long) 2) Slave all to SPI (China Forward Long) That's all there is to it, really. Not sure what might be happening to your setup.

  7. It was a night of firsts for anyone who attended. It was the first time live stream was used in such a manner for training. The first time the seasoned vets on the server seen so many Sharks in the air. And the first time I have gotten such professional and easy to understand instruction, for completely free! Not only does Tyger know what he is talking about. But he is able to present it, in an easy to understand, easy to follow manner. Not a lot of people can do that, especially while trying to maintain a heading in a Black shark. Let alone perform some tricky manoeuvres. One of the first things Tyger said during the training session, is something along the lines of. Some people tend to jump straight into combat, ignore a completely fundamental part of the sim, and as a result, get completely disillusioned with the game. Well this rang through for me. Thankfully this problem I didn't even know I had, has been completely rectified by Tyger. Now instead of attempting, and failing, the campaign missions when I fire up Black Shark. I will be practicing my hammerheads, funnels and break 180's. Really, if you have any reservations about attending any future events, just don't. An hour into the session, and just 30 minutes in the cockpit. The runway looked like a complete disaster area. There were no judgements when someone crashed. Just hop in another chopper, and try again. It wasn't expected that people learn the techniques there and then. Just have a better understanding of them, so that you could practice them in your own time. Which is one of the most valuable things I will take away from the session, an achievable goal. It goes without saying, but needs to be said, thanks Tyger!

  8. Building analog gauges requires pretty advanced skills compared to cutting panels and wiring switches. Unless you plan to buy them, which is very expensive. I say you have enough things on your hands, building the CP frame and panels, sourcing for many switches and knobs, wiring and configuring them, getting LCD and LEDs and seven segment displays and figuring out the output solution. Why dont you just use a monitor to display the gauges for now, then upgrade to analog ones later you have more time, money, better skills? There is much to do and learn, so my own approach is to get a basic CP done first, no analog gauges, no back lighting, even no CP frame, conquer all input switches first, then the various output displays mentioned above. Then worry about other upgrades later. But that is just my own approach. You may have more time and financial resources to tackle all at the same time. I just have to prioritize mine.

  9. Hi Sov that 'crackle' is a part of the explosion dynamics, so I don't really perceive it as a problem, mainly because in the game you can rarely hear it. This 'ExplodeAir' sound comes from an 84mm Carl Gustaf recoil-less rifle test, using a laser-guided fused airburst munition so this 'crackle' is probably residual supersonic shrapnel hitting. 84mm Carl Gustaf recoil-less rifle fused airburst: Thanks for the feedback. I like it when people hear stuff which I haven't been focusing on.

  11. It was a great idea, that was better than great when you were actually in it and participating. The results speak for themselves a 3hr session which (for those that wanted and could) ended up closer to 6hrs for most people simply because it was too good an oppourtunity to miss. Did I learn anything? This is how my BS2 week has been... Monday : See Tygers community invitation for BS2 Training with the 74th's, then quickly realise that if I'm ever going to fly the KA-50 this is as good as it gets so I sign up. Tuesday : PANIC... Despite owning BS2 for a few months I know next to nothing and have little to no flight experience with the KA-50. I need to do something fast. So I jump onto You Tube and find the 'leading edge training videos for BS manual start' and start to learn. Wednesday : After a few hours later and some note taking I can manually start the KA-50 unaided and in doing so have basically learnt the layout of the cockpit. PANIC... ok I can start but I haven't flown yet! Also figured out how to map TeamSpeak PTT to HOTAS as well as TrIR centering. Thursday : Read the BS2 QuickStart guide on the train on the way to work and watch some cached YouTube training clips <get some strange looks> Friday : Its 7:45pm <gulp>, how do you join a MP server and why is BS2 asking me to login to a master server before I even see a server list? Yikes! but get it sorted whilst we have some introductions, I must have set it up when I installed the game. So got the game up and running and setup the LiveStream connection on my laptop next to me whilst leaving my PC to handle BS2. WoW how many KA-50's? Anyhow through Tygers professional quality training I tried trimming, hovering, hammerheads, break 180, funneling and landing... I got some of it right, I crashed lots <wasn't a problem> and had a great time. I'm still a beginner but I now know 1000% more than I did, I now have some flight experience and as a result have got so much more out of BS2 than 1 week ago. I made some notes and have taken away some homework to practice, its clear to me that the Navigation workshop is currently beyond my flight skills BUT I have something to aim for. Given a chance I would do this workshop again, and for anyone that is even remotely interested I would encourage you to join the LiveStream video so you can at least observe even if you don't want to fly. If a total newbie to BS2 like me can join in and fly in the workshop then anyone can. Big thanks to Tyger for your efforts and patience... (and appologies to the chap I flew into on the taxi way whilst trying to hover :joystick:)

  14. I want to thank Tyger for doing this tonight. I was not able to make the server but managed to watch a good amount on the live stream, well structured teaching and easy to follow. I would recommend to anyone who is starting out with the Black-shark 2 ( like me ) to take part or watch future live feeds.

  16. That about says it - I'm a pretty passionate action gamer who's dipped his hands into every genre.. I play (and love) all the new cliche Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield releases as they come out, RPGs like Skyrim (and other assorted JRPGs), RTS games like the Command & Conquer franchise and World in Conflict, space sims (Freespace 2!) - pretty much everything, but every few months I can't help but break out my HOTAS setup and dive back into the A10 for a few rounds to see what else I can learn.

  26. For anyone interested I have one extender I can ship in the next two days. It is currently 125mm but I can make it smaller - 100mm is the most popular. If you want it PM me, it is $85usd + $20 shipping and another $10 if you want a modded cable. Thanks.
